  1. I haven't heard one way or the other. For the past two years, the exclusives have gone up on HTS the Tuesday after, but I think we've usually had confirmation by now. Thats why I pulled the trigger on eBay bc I figured that since the panel came and went with no mention of HTS then they won't be up there.

Also, what's different about the paint jobs? Are the SDCC versions more shiny?

  2. AAAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!! I seriously want to Hulk out right now. This is so frustrating. To be teased with a BAF only to get this is crap is a really jerk move on Hasbro's part. A 4 inch BAF? Remember the good old days when little figures like Impossible Man, Gremlin, and Howard the Duck came with full-sized figures? And the point of BAFs was to give us bigger characters that wouldn't fit on a card? This is absolutely a copout of the highest degree. Thanks, but no thanks Hasbro. I'm done.

  3. new figs at the bottom are clearly Red She hulk, Sentry, Protector, modern Iron Fist & classic Archangel. Not a clue why that Fantomex is down there with them. possibly a place holder for someone else? Either way, that's one sick effing wave. Can't see variants out of Sentry. Iron Fist would obviously be a green variant. Archangel could be b/w XForce (instead of the sdcc black/silver), Protector could be his green/white look w/ no mask, She Hulk.....hmmmm maybe a green variant or a running change w/ Titania? (sp?)

Variant for Sentry could be the Void..

  4. yeah well it doesnt surprise me one bit that hasbro cheaps out like always and still no spidey villains. happy about red she-hulk and archangel. sentry looks impressive allready but wasnt really needed. i would be happy if iron fist comes in green because the one i have is good but i kind of hate these huge shoulders. yeah well lets wait and see.

I would love a modern Iron Fist without the big collar. I would love an Orson Randall Iron Fist even more.

  5. the way the packaged look with all that extra grey on the side is that Hasbro wants to keep us guessing until it hits in Spetember or wait until NYCC to announce the BAF.

I don't want to think that after 3 years of nothing that they have goofed on that level already.

BTW: Is that Iron-Man actually smaller than the Punisher???

    SMH

I don't think they would go through the trouble of packaging those with the stands though if there was going to be BAF

Sadly, I agree. Here's to hoping someone has te guts to call their BS on this at the panel. You know they're still going to charge the same price.

  6. Thanks, don't have the patience or a steady enough hand to do it myself. Will look on figurerealm to see if i can find someone. Its important to me that it look as good as possible, a quality paint job that can blend right in with the rest of the collection.

Any input on the Kang thing while we're at it? Thanks for the reply.

I'm not a big fan of the character, so I don't have either. I would suppose the Hasbro version is probably a better sculpt, but the Toy Biz one might have better articulation. I just can't say for sure, though.

  7. I've wanted to do the same to my Ronan series one for a while now but never got around to it. It actually would be a really easy custom since there aren't any little details to worry about. I'd refer you to figurerealm.com as they have the biggest collection of customs I've seen online in their Custom Showcase section. The custom boards here are always a little slow.

If you wanted to do it yourself, I'd just tell you to first wash the figure with soap and water, then let it dry. Use acryllic model paint (games workshop or the like. Most hobby stores have them, and anywhere they sell those table-top roleplaying games where the gamers cutomize their own little pieces and armies.) Good luck!

  8. that would be impossible to list as the prices fluctuate. eBay has always been the best guide for what the current prices people are paying for them. Just look at the completed listings and you can get an idea. And yes the older ones are going to be fairly expensive and the new ones you should be able to get around retail price or maybe not more than $5 over.

A great example of this is the Series 6 Juggernaut. He used to go for $50 plus loose. Ever since the MS one came out though, he's obsolete. I saw one sell for $18 the other day and ended up getting rid of mine for $25.

Since I built my collection through eBay, I set a limit on each figure of what I was willing to spend and then just searched and bid on auctions until I got it for that price. If the auction got higher than I wanted or could afford, I just tried to find another one.

I bought all my figures loose, which is always going to be less expensive. A lot of them came from the same 4 sellers, too, which also helps because it's easy to monitor their listings and Buy It Now offers. I was even able to get a few discounts since I was a repeat customer.

Lastly, buy in lots. It's almost ALWAYS less $ per figure if you buy a lot at once. I got a huge lot of Spider-Man villains, about 20 figures, for a little over $100 once. It was probably the best deal I've ever gotten. My Face Off Captain America also came from a loose lot that when averaged out across all the rest of the figures was about $10.

  9. Since I can't be 100% sure about getting it from HTS, I'm going to go ahead and throw this out there like everyone else. If anyone is going to ComicCon and would be willing to get me one, please send me a PM.

I'll send you the money via PayPal before the Con so you'll be covered, and if/when you get it, I'll send the shipping cost.

Again, serious offer here. Please contact me if you can help.

  10. Since he's only 5, I'd say go with one of the older ones from Toy Biz Marvel Legends. The sculpt isn't as good as the Hasbro Ronan series one, but they do have pegs on the boards and foot holes.

Same sculpt, no magnets, different paint: http://marvelousnews.com/database/search.php?itemid=811

The Hasbro one is better, IMHO, from a collector's standpoint because of the sculpt and "chrome" board which is really shiny. Unfortunately, it will also probably be more expensive than the Toy Biz versions.

  11. I was a Star Wars collector from 1995-2006. When I was a kid, I was really into Spider-Man and the X-men b/c of the cartoons, so I had a ton of X-men and spidey figures. While technically not a ML, I did get the original Spider-Man classics regular and black costume spideys b/c they came out around the same time as the Activision game for PlayStation and I was starting to get back into the characters.

In my SW collecting days, I always thought ML were really cool figures when I saw them in the toy aisles. Looking back, i remember actually seeing a Deadpool in a Wal-Mart somewhere and wanting to get it since I always wanted the old one from the X-Force line and never got it, but I passed.

I quit collecting Star Wars around 2006-7, and my first official ML figure was the Hasbro FFF King Hulk b/c I loved World War Hulk so much and thought it was a great figure. One thing led to another, and I bought the two packs that came out around the same time, and the rest is history. I've bought all the new stuff as it's come out and backfilled my collection through eBay and buying loose figures at conventions.

  12. Re: The last two posts. What reason could you possibly have for buying more than 2 at most? I understand wanting one to open and one to keep in the box, but three or more? Unless youre getting them for friends or fellow collectors, whats the point? Some of us aren't going to be able to get these through HTS, and I'll bet we'll see these going for $150+ on eBay.

I'm going to purchase multiples to lessen the cost of my trip. It's not like the 4-day with Preview Night pass, lodging, food, airfare is free. I always look to recoup whatever costs I can when I go to SDCC. People might not like this but there's hundreds of people that go to SDCC annually that do this. It's just the reality of things and if people don't like this idea then don't live in a Capitalistic society then. HTS puts aside a limited amount for sale the day after SDCC ends. They don't have to do this since it's an exclusive but they do.

I never knew people did this, but i guess it makes sense. More power to you I suppose. Hope you make tons of $$ and get your whole trip paid for.

I've been doing this since SDCC exploded in 2007. Why pay more than you have to for your trip right.

Or why go on a trip you cant afford?
