  1. Crap. I've been looking for that Crimson Dynamo forever. My local TRU and Wal-Mart have had Titanium Man forever now, but if they're going on clearance I'm starting to think I missed out!

check your local TJMaxx, I have seen Crimson Dynamo, Initiative War Machine, and Stealth Strile Mark IV for $4.99 each in at least 3 different stores.

I hit up three TJ Maxx today and found nothing!

Also, just a few wave 1 ML at a couple local Wal-Marts and TRUs. Still no sign of wave 2 here in Louisville.

  2. New to the game here thought I'd post my first haul.

I was able to pick up a full set of wave 1 from a local Target thanks to the tips I read on here.

It was a variant box. Now everywhere I go it looks harder to get the regular guys from wave 1.

Is there any rarity to these variants at all?

Welcome! Congrats on the find. As far as rarity goes, I don't think we have any specific confirmation on case ratios, but it does seem like a lot of people aren't having any trouble finding variants.

From my personal experience, though, I've seen full cases of figures at TRU and Wal-Mart several times now, but only once did I see the variants.

  3. And this is my haul from today. Crimson Dynamo and Initiative War Machine from the 6" IM line and the Mac Gargan Venom from the 6" spidey line. The IM figs are on clearance for $9 right now at Wally world. War Machines head was completely loose out of the box which sucked. But anyways here's pics:

  4. Whats even more strange is they(Wal-mart) have these new Marvel Legends listed as Ghost Rider 6" Figures.... I am Guessing Hasbro Had to trick wal-mart into buying these as a movie line. Just look how much wasted money walmart invested in the green lantern Movie line. This could be the reason some of you guys are not finding these in the system when you ask by the marvel Legends Name?

My thought is that it's in the system as th first upc they scan from the figures in the case. My wal-mart had two pegs, and on one it said Iron Man, and the other said Steve Rogers.

  5. I feel you man, but I'm all in for these figures. I was lucky to find wave 1 and variants on a random stop at TRU, but now with wave 2 hitting I am hunting hard because I really want that Arnim Zola BAF. Also, since the variants seem to be hitting early, I want to stay on top of it so I don't miss the FF Spider-Man.

I'm fortunate enough to work a mile from a TRU and a Wal-Mart. You better believe I'm hitting them up on my lunch break every day.

    Love it.

  6. With the Return of Marvel Legends in the past few weeks, I've been experiencing a feeling I haven't felt in a very long time. It's that sort of anxious, nervous feeling you get when you walk into Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Target, or any other department store and make a bee line for the action figure aisle.

You don't know what to expect (even though you were just there two days ago), so the potential for surprise is always there. You walk into the toy aisle, past the Bakugan, Star Wars, and a smattering of video game characters.

As you approach the Marvel section, the anticipation builds and you start to walk a little faster, and as the excitement boils up through your stomach, you might start to breathe a little heavier until you look and see....

NOTHING! Everything is exactly the same as the day before. There's the Iron Man movie figures marked down to clearance, a handful of MU figures that you despise for replacing Marvel Legends, and some various role playing toys and some vehicles. Everything that had built up during the drive to the store and walking to the aisle is suddenly released as you let out a long sigh in disappointment. Maybe you check some shelves, peruse the pegs, and hope against all odds that maybe there will be something hiding, maybe stashed or overlooked by a scalper or fellow collector, even though you know there won't be anything to find.

Days go by, weeks even. Then, that one fateful day, just as you're about to give up. you go through the whole routine again except this time, something is different. Maybe you don't see it at first, but notice that the Captain America figures have been moved or consolidated to one peg. There might be a clearance tag on some roleplaying toys. You look down, and there it is...an entire shelf or peg FULL of BRAND NEW MARVEL LEGENDS! Your heart skips a beat as you feel a lump in your throat. You feel like you want to shout or jump up in the air in victory. You reach out and grab the first figure, and then go through the rest of the peg, grabbing them all.

The joyful relief you feel as you realise your persistance has been rewarded is second to none. You've finally found them, and you walk triumphantly up to the register thinking only about putting that BAF together or posing each figure on your shelf. The drive home seems to last forever, but it's so exciting the time flies by. Before you know it, you're home and the packages are being ripped open; that plastic smell invades your nostrils as you pop the figures out of the plastic bubble. You pose the figures, set them up, maybe take some pictures, and jump on the MarvelousNews forums to share your haul. Finally, you can relax..until you see that someone has already spotted the next wave.

This is what I miss when buying cases online and why I love the hunt.

  7. It's been done before, and it will be done again, but here is my take on Tony Stark.

Entire figure is the Movie Masters Harvey Dent from The Dark Knight, just repainted. I know alot of people do a head swap, but the Movie Stark head is too small, and I didn't want to do the retro head.

I painted the suit black and gave him a white collar, blue shirt, and red tie. Hair is painted with glossy black to give it the sheen a genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist would have. Lastly, the hardest part was painting the facial hair, but I think it came out pretty great.

    Enjoy!

  8. So, I don't know if anyone else had thought about this, but with all the excitement here with the Return of Marvel Legends hitting stores, I completely forgot that Toy Fair is getting ready to start in NYC.

Does anybody have any expectations about what's going to be revealed? I'm thinking mostly Avengers stuff, but I'm seriously hoping for a look at some new MLs.

Maybe wave 3 details? I still don't think we know the full lineup other than Punisher, Blade, and USAgent, all of whom I'd really like to see finished versions of. Perhaps a look at what the BAF will be?

Here's to hoping. I guess we'll find out Sunday.

  9. Just went to Target and found a nice employee who took the dcpi number I gave her and located a single case in the stockroom. However, she said the supervisor would not let her pull it because it is an "upcoming set" and didnt have an aisle location. She said 4 other stores in the area each have a case as well.

that's bullcrap. who cares if it doesn't have a location? just tell her you are going to buy them all so it doesn't even matter.... and then dump the ones you don't want in housewares or something.

unless it has a street date on the box, they have to sell them to you

I thought about doing that bc I already have the figures, and im just looking for the Steve Rogers variant. But she was so nice, I didnt want her to get bitched at by a backroom supe.
