  1. Yeah, Hasbro really did us a favor by not packing it with a BAF piece. However, I do really want the FF variant even though I'm not holding my breath that we'll ever get the rest of the FF.
  2. Just went to Target and found a nice employee who took the dcpi number I gave her and located a single case in the stockroom. However, she said the supervisor would not let her pull it because it is an "upcoming set" and didnt have an aisle location. She said 4 other stores in the area each have a case as well.
  3. I'm still hung up on the size. Marvel lists him as 7'5" in his transformed state, so maybe its not as bad as I thought. Can you post pics of him with other Marvel Legends X-Men (eg cyclops, nightcrawler, wolverine, etc...)?
  4. Saw the MS Colossus at my LCS yesterday. Passed on it bc it just looked too massive for Marvel Legends. The thing hss to be at least 8".
  5. Oh, I just saw it on here and figured it came from SDCC or something. I dont remember actually.seeing anything from Hasbro. Speaking of, whatever happened to the Q&A tge Hasbro team used to do?
  6. As mentioned above, the variants are 1/4 cases. So far, Ive seen the figures at three different TRUs, but no variants. Two regular Iron Mans are already warming the pegs. Been there three days in a row now. Im hoping the variants will be easier find when the figures hit Walmart and Target.
  7. Found a new 6" loki at walmart today on clearance for $7.00. I didnt buy it, but if anyone wants me to pick it up, PM me.
  8. Yeah, that really does suck. Having to buy two figures just for an alternate head? Kind of a ripoff Hasbro. I'll think I'll buy the masked version for the sake of assembling a Dark Avengers display. Daken as a character kind of sucks, so I'm not too torn up about getting the unmasked head.
  9. Another question: anyone know if this figure is in scale with MLs? Wondering if its about the size of the other venoms that have come out from toybiz and hasbro.
  10. Spider-Man is the one without BAF piece? Great! Also, I think the idea of the "two figures variant" is great... Hope to see Wrecker and Bulldozer in Wave 4 to complete the team I think I could do the same head swap, anyways, I want the Ultimate Nick Fury from the 2-pack to my Ultimate Collection and the Steve Rogers variant for the photon shield... Unlucky for you that now the Secret Avengers are changing roster... I'm ready to make my Venom with a Face Off Red Skull (anyways... poor Johann, he's dead) Yeah. that is unfortunate about the roster change. Although, I'm guessing the 6" movie Hawkeye figure will look enough like the new costume in the comics that he can fit in well enough. Plus, a figure of the new Venom would be pretty sweet.
  11. To anyone who has found the variant steve rogers, I'd be willing to buy or trade for the clear shield. I could swap with the regular shield if you want.
  12. Scored the Terrax wave today. Still holding out for the variant Steve Rogers, and passed on the Thor.
  13. Score! Found all the figures at TRU in Louisville tonight. Skipped Thor bc I have the MS and the Comic Con version. All of them are great, but Terrax is awesome (see attached photo). Also, check out the photos to see before and after photos of the head swap I did on Steve Rogers. I think the Ultimate Cap head looks better. Lastly, my Secret Avengers are finally assembled!
  14. So pumped for US Agent. I've been wanting this figure for so long, and I could never understand why they didn't put him out b/c it would have been such a simple repaint. But, it seems like we're getting a brand new figure out of it! Even better! As for favorite US Agent covers, mine is Captain America 337 (technically "The Captain") B/c of the nod to the classic issue of the avengers. I just love that costume. As for archangel, I hope it's x-force. I'm content with the X-men Classics version, but I would really like to put together a modern Uncanny x-force team. After these archangel and fantomex, we need Wolverine, Deadpool, Deathlok, and Psylock (even though those would all be pretty simple customs, I'd rather have Hasbro do the work for me.)
  15. I feel like Fantomex and Daken are just teases. Anyone think we'll actually get the rest of Uncanny X-Force or the Dark Aveners?
  16. Loki most definitely should be massive. He's an Asgardian and should be bigger than standard characters.
  17. I mostly agree with the exception of your Hulk choice. I'm more fond of the Face-Off Hulk from Toy-Biz. The only use I found for the Hasbro 2-pack Hulk is to square-off against the Red Hulk BAF.
  18. For Hawkeye, you need to go Legends (unfortunate that it's so expensive). The select version will just be too big. Mixing Select and Legends tends to work best when you're using Select for bigger characters.
  19. As far as range and selection of characters go, Legends is better just because it's been around longer and many of the other lines (FF Classics, X-Men Classics, Spider-Man Classics) are in scale and offer a broader selection of characters. Plus, in terms of princing, Legends tend to be a little cheaper. What I've done, and think is best, is to get "normal" sized characters (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, etc..) in Legends, and go with Select for the "bigger" characters (Juggernaut, Hulk, Thor...) since those tend to be in scale with Legends. If you were to give a list of what characters you're interested in, I'd love to give you a list of what I think is the "definitive" version of each, Legends or select.
  20. Yeah, but... Sculpt is awesome. Paint is great. And the guy is massive. Far superior to the original ToyBiz Loki. Also, I think the cross-legged slouching pose on a throne or something would look good. I've never considered Loki to be a very upright kind of guy.
  21. Keep checking eBay for completes. I was lucky enought to score mine on a Buy it Now offer for $70. Just be patient and snatch it up when the price is right.
  22. Have to admit, Hasbro has really knocked these figures out of the park. Picked up Nick Fury, Movie Cap, Movie Thor, and Comic Loki tonight. Best feature about Cap and Thor are the new style of legs. Full range of motion, but hidden extremely well. Only complaint about both figures is the helmet paint. Thor's is too dull, and Cap's doesn't match the rest of the costume. Nick Fury is a great figure, and definitely better than the Ultimates version from the two-pack IMHO. Loki, though, is the king of the bunch. This figure caught me by surprise when they unveiled it at Comic-Con because I don't think anyone was really demanding it, but it sure is awesome, especially when combined with the Comic-Con exclusive Thor. Here's some pics. Sorry for the low quality, I had to use my cell.
  23. I definitely like the idea of having the covers in the background, and it's an idea I've tossed around before. I really appreciate the suggestions and photo references. I'm finishing school this week and should have plenty of free time to get my set up done in the next week or two. I'll be sure to post pics when I'm done.
  24. I recently moved into a new place and am looking for ideas on how to set up and display my 6" figures. First, about my collection: I have almost every marvel legends figure, toy biz and hasbro, baf, box sets, etc, plus all the x-men from the classics line and all the villains from the spider-man classics line. Needless to say, it's a lot of figures and space is currently an issue. At my old place, I had them arranged by team, ie Avengers, xmen, f4, champions, alpha/omega flight, invaders, defenders,1st appearances, etc.. I'm thinking of going a character-based route, though, as in all cap and cap-related figures together, all the spider-man characters together, etc, but then where would random guys like hawkeye, tigra, vision, black knight, and such go? What I'm looking for are suggestions and ideas on how to put together a good display. What do you do? Anyone know any sites with pics and ideas? My goal is to get them set up and then share pics on here, but I don't even know where to start. Thanks!
  25. that should be a pretty easy job. First you want to wash the figure with some dish soap and a sponge. This gets rid of the residue left from the factory. Then you just need to paint it like you would a model car or something. Dont worry about sanding it. Make sure to use acryllic paint, but NOT the stuff from wal-mart. You want to use acryllic model paint that will bond to the plastic. Games workshop, citadel, and testors are all fine choices. Since you're going from black to light blue, you might consider putting down a base coat of white first. I also prefer flat paint to glossy, but that's just personal preference. Check out the how-tos at the custom action figure showcase hosted by figurerealm.com. Just google it for a link. Good luck!
