  1. My first ones were Toybiz Wave 1 Captain America & Iron Man. I had to buy them off of Ebay $12.50 each because I started collecting a year after they came out and could not get them at retail. Then I was able to pick up Wave 2 and 3 at retail. It was my first E-bay purchase ever.
  2. Because they will change as much as they can get for a product. Retail is no longer looking at MSRP as an end all be all, we are in an age of high tech retail. If she sells for 14.99 in high numbers the price may even go higher. Retail is very confused by the way Hasbro is shipping these variants. The only retailer I trust to send what is pictured is Hasbro’s toy shop. And I think they are only that way because they learned their lesson from Marvel Legends returns on the wrong picture for what is received by the buyer. I ordered A-bomb from Amazon and got Abomination. The picture was A-bomb. I don’t care what Hasbro calls it, when I walk into a store pick up a figure I buy what I see. Etail needs to be the same.
  3. You're going to miss the whole weekend. But I'll be chillin with you on Sunday night. lol I mentioned this earlier, but no takers...lets have an online drinking party Sunday night. I'm all for that, count me in!
  4. Thanks, man I live right outside of Scranton and was able to pick one up last night becuase of your post. Thanks a lot for posting! And I agree NEPA is usually the last place that something brand new will hit shelves.
  5. Picked up Carnage and Ben Reilly at Koles today. They cost $10 each not something I would normally pay, but my list for this year is almost done and there is typically a dry spell until March after X-mas. So I picked them up.
  6. Found the new comic packs at Target today. I was happy to see something new for MU. I only picked up Sentry & SM, the others were an easy pass. I'd only pick those up on clearance. Hahaha, what I am thinking MU is never goes on clearance. Oh and they had a 6.99 price drop on the MU singles. But, wait a minute wasn't that what they were just charging two months ago and isn't 6.99 the suggested retail of MU from Hasbro? YES! to both, so price drop not really, it should read "price gouging removed from price" on the peg tags.
  7. Comic stores have to go through a distributor who charges more than what it cost to order from HTS. They would have to jack the price up even more if ordering from them. Hasbro charges you $5,000 to order direct. I'd say unless you Walmart, Target or Toys R Us it's probably expensive to order these figs. My comic store ordered wrestling figs you can get at R Us for 10 and is selling them all for $20.00 (or should I say "displaying") Why would he not order a case or two from HTS if that is true? Besides this guy bought it from target not a direct distributor.
  8. I'm not a violent man, but I really would have wanted to punch that guy in the face. I’ll tell you what thou, you should tell everyone not to buy from him. If I had children that wanted MU I’d have to buy cases online. Where else are you going to get all this stuff? As a collector I can wait, but kids should have what they want for X-mas if the parents can afford it of course.
  9. Scored a classic Havok today at a grocery store. Bad news they are selling MU for 12.99. Good news is I got him for 7.99 as the price did not come up in their system when I checked out. I didn't want to be greedy on my price reduction unlike the store which is being greedy on their price inflation. This is the best variant MU has produced to date IMO.
  10. Wow they are both awesome. But, that Cyclops is perfect! How did you paint the lines so well/straight?
  11. UM, yes it is. I agree with fair game with you bro, but this ONE line from your post I disagree with 100% aside from bad distribution, (which is sometimes because of scalpers B.S. and poor business sense i.e. trying to appease scalpers) wrong. case ratios are the absolutely worst problem about collecting. Hands down. No disputing it. It's Hasbro's fault for putting only 1 of the best figure in each case, and 6-7 figures nobody wants in there instead. if there were 2 or 3 Archangels per case, he wouldn't be so hard to find and he wouldn't be getting scalped all day... but they keep doing it and doing it. and besides the point... you guys are way overblowing the problem of scalping... I would guess that for every 10 Archangels sold at Target, 8-9 of them are sold to people who actually want to keep them. Agreed, I think scalping is terrible not only in collecting action figures, but in all areas. However, in the case of action figures scalping is only part of the problem. And IMO a smaller part of the problem. Hasbro case assortments is the biggest problem facing MU collectors. Stores will not reorder cases if their pegs are full with MU. They do not look at the fact they are all IM and SM. Hasbro needs to change this is a radical way. And retail needs a massive clearance, a giving it away clearance like $2 or less per figure. I would hate to be a 10 year old child trying to collect this line. Unless your parents are rich and smart enough to buy online, you would be hard pressed to get figures ever. Even if you were lucky enough to arrive at a store the day they put out a case, what parent is going to buy more than two figures? They'll say Timmy we'll get the rest next time or we'll ask Santa. Well good luck with that the parent or child may never see those toys again at retail.
  12. That's a great idea I think we should get a group together to do that nationwide at WMs at noon on a certain date. Let's do it gang!
  13. Picked up MU Classic Cap, Thor, Luke Cage & Submariner at TRU yesterday at the sale price. Also, picked up SM Rhino at Target of all places today. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
  14. Love that Catman! Great job, he is on my list to do as a custom too. The other DC stuff is looking great too!
  15. That's awesome! Wish i got gifts like that. I only get clothes. Who got it for you?
  16. I'm in Northeastern PA 2 hours from NYC. I've just started seeing wave 3 for the last 2 weeks nothing beyond that yet.
  17. Got the new darker Wave 1 Spiderman today. I have to say I love it and I hate all the repaints going on in MU overall. But, they did a really nice job on this one. Looking forward to tracking down a J Storm dark wash.
  18. Maybe it will offered in two ways? As a mail away with the comic packs and will also be offered separately with a purchase of digital comics. If that is the case maybe I will get two. One via the comic packs mail in offer and one via the digital comics. It will probably be easier and quicker if purchased via the digital comic offer.
