  1. I guess if I was 5, I would think this is cool? Take all the spidey villains and mash them up. Ok I guess, I stopped reading Spider-Man years ago. Are comics still made for young audiences?
  2. I've been collecting Marvel Legends since around 2004 and that's when you could get them between $7.99 and $12.99. At every price point increase I've been revising my purchasing. Am I a fan of FF or X-Men...eh not really, but I would buy new figures at 14.99. At 19.99 I became even more selective, I began to focus on only figures from the Classic Marvel 1961-1991 era and Spider-man figures. Last year at $22.99, I stopped buying re-makes of figures and also stopped buying BAF's. So at 24.99, it's really going to have to be a "must have" for me. $24.99 is not the final price of the figure. Nowadays, you can't really find the toys you want in stores so we now have to factor in Shipping prices (which have also risen) as well as the wonderful Internet Sales Tax that never existed a couple years ago. So really the price of a Marvel Legends figure at the end of it all is closer to $39.99.
  3. Love that they are doing a Carrion figure from Maximum Carnage. I'm not interested in the rest. The Mephisto figure is pretty bad, especially considering that the Marvel Select version is sooo good. All they need to do is take that mold and add some more articulation and package it with his throne and you have a perfect figure. Unfortunately that's not what we're getting and the coloring is off on the figure. Everyone keeps talking about "bucks," such a cheap way to make toys. While it works for many figures, it would really be sad if they went ahead with a "buck" for Mephisto.
  4. While I do think this project will be fully backed, Its just not something that is filling a long awaited hole in a collection. I think this is the most under-performing Haslab. The Jabba Sailbarge was funded much quicker and it was something people were buying in triplicate. I think they would've done better doing a legends vehicle like a blackbird or a Fantasticar.
  5. Every time i see this pic, I think "oh cool, they finally made a Rose figure from Spider-Man"...nevermind
  6. So I originally backed the Jabba Sail Barge and thought that it was just a fantastic piece. A piece that couldn't be made or sold at box stores and was something truly unique to fans. I did not back the Razor crest because it just seemed like something that could be re-released at some point, especially considering subsequent re-releaseing of Bobba Fett's "StarShip". With these Marvel haslabs, I think they are fun pieces, but not really needed. We already had Sentinels (three times) as well as Galactus (two times,or three depending if you count the marvel universe redeco). So I get that collector's may want larger versions or re-do's of the figures. But they're really not that unique or special. Although if I had $400 to burn, sure, a master-mold figure would neat. I'm sure that Haslab will reach its goal (and stretch goals) but the only thing that I see here that I would mildly want would be the Frankie Raye Nova.. and even that would be a "maybe." It seems like Hasbro is trying to justify the cost by dangling additional figures as stretch goals and adding LED lights (that I don't think any of us are really going to "play" with). I think if Hasbro just did this at a $100-150 price point and took away the extra bells and whistles, I think they'd do much better. I'm just not seeing the value here for these Haslab projects.
  7. What's up with that Hydra armband on Red Skull??? So I guess Marvel's going to rewrite their history and hide the fact that the Red Skull was a Nazi? Wasn't that the whole point of the Red Skull, he was the ultimate evil?!
  8. So the toys and all the accessories are still made of plastic, right? 😉
  9. I'll be getting the Silver Age figures: Dormammu and Red Skull! Not interested in anything else and thankfully not the the BAF.
  10. LOL Is there continuity anymore? It this point, what does it matter about finishing up old storylines from 30 years ago.
  11. This is a great line that I would probably buy for a young kid. No Small parts, bright and colorful. I don't see this becoming a collectible line right now, it'll depend on how much product they can get out of it. Either way, its clearly NOT in a Secret Wars style pose or size... so I really don't see this as "Retro" except for the costuming choice. Its a shame because if Hasbro made this look like a Secret Wars figure and put them in the same scale, I would buy ALL of these. As it is this looks like an over-priced Dollar Store toy or Happy Meal Free-Bee!
  12. Who's that girl in the black and white and why has she stolen Black Queen's head and Elektra's body? If we're reusing parts like a third rate customizer, let's at least get in improved Black Queen figure that is actually accurate. regards Joshua
  13. Hello everyone, I was curious if Hasbro released a full schedule of their exclusives at the convention, and was wondering if there were any 6" scale marvel figures referenced? I think they're releaseing a star wars stormtrooper variant, and a TF Soundwave... but any marvel 6" or Marvel Select 6"? Curious, so i can plan out the appropriate funds. Thanks Joshua
