  1. Aside from the fact that they are obviously holding a card back, to me those look more like the 6" standard wave rather than the formerly Infinite line, if it's even called that anymore. As many of us know the Spider-Woman figure hit stores weeks ago, so these would fit with that. As far as the listings matching up, I would put money that there will be a similar, if not identical, main wave where the BAF will most likely be Spider-Woman.
  2. I wanna believe this, and though it's quite easy to let a little blood and gore and maybe a few curse words through the Disney filter, I seriously doubt it will be anywhere near comparable to the previous two movies. Honestly, that's only a small part of the equation, though. In the end, just do a good freakin' movie and leave all the postulating on the cutting room floor and people will come. I know it sounds so simple, but if Disney is good at one thing it's "fixing" things that aren't broken. Of course, it almost always ends in failure, but it doesn't keep them from trying over and over again.
  3. There were quite a few variations on his "suit" design. Some artists actually portrayed him as nekid with only the fluid cloake wafting and blowing over his nether regions from the appropriate angles in the comic panels. I think the booty shorts came later on in the character's evolution. You're right about Moondragon. Same game, same rules, right? But similarly I would wager the safest way would be to do it as an exclusive. This one seemed to work just fine on Amazon. Maybe Amazon could proceed with a theme like Walgreens. Let's keep the cosmic characters coming, ehhh?
  4. They're actually marking this down in store as well, if you manage to find one. I just came across one in the mid-lane mark down display. Looks like they were purging unsold stock because there were almost a dozen of them. Initially I wasn't interested at full price, but a Deluxe size figure with significant upgrades at a price only a few dollars more than standard figures and even less than most standard anniversary figures it's almost dumb not to buy it.
  5. And therein lies the problem with the Sunfire buck that some of these characters were done on. It is totally inaccurate, totally misused, and honestly, regardless of the butterflies, it is actually not a very good looking mold. I think the fact that it was a new mold in a time when the ones being used at the time were becoming nauseatingly tiresome and hated was the reason it was almost unanimously loved at the time. As innovative as it was at the time it's just plain funny looking compared to more modern bucks, starting with that freaky long neck and proceeding with the short arms and legs in comparison to the torso. It's complete garbage, but the sheer fact that it has butterfly joints is what makes it the automatic for figures like Falcon, Surfer and Firelord, who actually do not need butterflies to be put in their respective flying poses or to hold a staff (try it out). An updated Reaper buck would be preferable, but until that happens I'd be satisfied with the Vulcan buck, no doubt. Maybe if and when the new Reaper sized mold comes out they will address this issue, but I doubt it, unless Hasbro finds a way to gouge the fans for more money while they're at it. My prediction would be perhaps a few 2 packs with both SS and FL being in separate boxes along with some lesser known characters that are fairly cool and likeable.
  6. That's where I'm at. It was pointed out he was done on the Colossus buck, which they are suddenly finding all sorts of use for, but what that means is, much like the current Sasquatch, it will actually be smaller than the previous version, which was actually a BAF. It looks great but if that's the case that's another unforgivable from Hasbro, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit, actually. As is being discussed in other comments, I suppose I can pre-order on Amazon and if the early reviews show it to be another Hasbro fumble I can cancel before it ships.
  7. Funny thing about this is I don't even remember ordering it, but damned if I didn't just come across the shipping notice in my Email. This is how you find out you have a problem. Dayam! On the bright side that Terrax was a hell of a figure for it's time and it was a sign for what Hasbro would be capable of in the future, and it still holds up pretty well today. Yes, there should have been at least a few upgrades but, hellooooo......it's Hasbro. Cheap is their jam. Fallen One is simple but accurate, and at this point that's all I ask. Why the hell couldn't they do that with Silver Surfer? Guess it's on it's way. Hopefully that was the last of my pointless spending because I've been doing pretty good at not biting at every little thing as of late.
  8. Looking at how they did that Fallen One and how simple and smooth it came out on the Reaper buck it makes one wonder why they simply couldn't have done the same thing with either or both Silver Surfer and Firelord. Sure, get the one nobody was asking for absolutely correct but go ahead and screw the two fan faves right the hell up. Sometimes thes guys are straight ayass clowns.
  9. As far as another fairly recognizable character from the Imperial Guard, the only one I can think of would be either Oracle or Smasher, which coincidentally can also be done fairly easy with existing sculpts. The rest have some fairly unique shapes and designs that I don't think Hasbro would be willing to invest in for how obscure many of them are. For Gen X, my heart says Husk, but my head says most likely it will be Synch, again just for the simplicity of design. Guys like Mondo, Skin and Penance would take some pretty specific sculpts. Now, the sheer fact that they made it a point to do Monet in her GenX gear rather than her modern gear does tell me they do plan to do more GenX figures, but I assume they will start with the easy ones and then once they get us on board that they are team building they'll go ahead and start trickling the more difficult characters into the line. I would say Mondo would be done as a Deluxe and Penance and Skin would be done as Retro Cards or as a Multi-pack. Also with this line comes the increased possibility that we may finally be getting a Marrow. I did love the cards the original 5" figures came on. I would love to have a Phalanx BAF.
  10. I just hope this wave doesn't have an awesome BAF, because I plan to cherry pick this one so hard it be cryin'.
  11. Initially I was disappointed with Forge's face sculpt, but these pictures are much better and it actually doesn't look all that bad. Now if we can just get new pictures of Fang where it is clear that the previous pictures only look like he was done on the Spider UK buck but is actually on the Wolverine buck we'd be all good. Monet's head is still tiny, and does anyone other than me think that Emma face sculpt looks like Snooki from Jersey Shore?
  12. At $60 it could be a number of things, but not one thing comes in mind that wouldn't require some additional pack-ins or accessories to justify that cost. Immediately the first thing that comes to mind is Spider-Slayer with Smythe control chair, similar to the recent custom we were shown. I, for one, don't see why Hasbro wouldn't/couldn't do it as a Target Exclusive. They've done it before with movie Deluxes and smaller characters in the Joe lines, knowing all they have to do is change a color scheme if they ever want to give it a general release. The second and third thing(s) I can think of are maybe an Into the Spiderverse SP//DR with Penny and a bunch of effects and alternate parts or a big ol' honkin' Spider-Woman from the new movie, but that would also take a lot of accessories to justify that cost. Other than Spider-Slayer/Smythe there's really nothing that would convince me to buy at that cost.
  13. Okay, I see it now. I didn't get the Amazing Fantasy Spidey so I didn't realize they were separate builds. I guess somewhere in my journey to be more selective of what I buy I realized I didn't need EVERY Spidey. I do see the difference though, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's still a little much for a character like KO who doesn't necessarily have a need to be extra flexible. I'm all for mixing up the sculpts to get as much variety as possible but stuff like this just makes it worse when they use a buck like this for a character like KO and then turn around, and I guarantee they will, and not use it on a character where it is appropriate, but instead use a more restrictive or improperly scaled buck. We already see something similar with Fang. Sure, I love the Spider UK buck, but if there was ever ANY other character in the Marvel Universe that would have been appropriate for the Wolvie buck it would a been the 5'4" Fang. Literally the two shortest "Regular" sized male characters in the entire MU with similar muscular builds and they still manage to screw it up. I have a feeling they did it on purpose do they can do Wolverine in Fang costume in either a future X-Men wave or, more likely, a multipack where they'll have us all clamoring to get it so we can swap out the heads and build a proper Fang. Hasbro's shady like that.
  14. Yes, he is on the Renew Your Vows buck. Both this one and Kid Omega are, though it is a bit much for KO. I don't know if anyone else noticed but the few times they referred to the RYV buck during the event they just kinda low-key glossed over it as the Spider-Man buck", no further specification. Makes me wonder if they're more or less done with the Pizza Spidey buck altogether. I know a lot of people had some serious disdain for that mold but in reality it was actually a good mold. It was totally great for smaller framed characters around the 150 lb, 5'8" to 5'11" area. It still has plenty of use in it. Actually it shoulda been used for Kid Omega, as well as Pyro and Speedball.
  15. I remember when this version of MK came out (in the Half-a-Vulture wave, I think), people were so pissed. Believe me, as a professional complainer I really understand when people have complaints, but that was baffling to me at the time, cuz it just looked so damn good. Of course many people wanted the classic version, but this one was just cool and it was more modern. The best thing about this is the buck. It is both compatible with the Bucky Cap buck and the newer Vulcan buck so there really is no need to do another one, unless they feel there is an absolute need to put butterflies on him. But if that's the case the classic version does have butterflies, but as it's on that frustrating misused/overused Sunfire buck, it is completely out of scale, so I guess pick your poison. As far as I'm concerned this is a definitive Moon Knight. Of course, if they decide to redo the classic version on the Vulcan buck I would have no choice but to get it as well. A little unsolicited advice, if you're a fan of Moon Knight, pick this up ASAP, because if recent history shows us anything it's that any future MK will have some element of that ridiculous non-Moon Knight character from that ridiculously terrible Moon Knightless non-superhero show from Disney+ plus woven into it forevermore.
  16. No sir. Just based on the fact that you do have a pretty discerning eye I went back and looked at the pictures of M again. Then I did it in dim lighting. Then I squinted my eyes real tight. Then I acted like I didn't know who Monet was and what she looked like. I even did the Hasbro team favorite and tried to blame it on Google, but to no avail. In the end I looked at her face size versus her hand size and the hand size of other female figures. She definitely has a bad case of Beetlejuice head going on, no matter how you spin it. Whether there's still time to rectify this issue is something only the ML team can address, but history tells me we are stuck with it. At least until the decide to do a modern Monet. Whenever that may be.
  17. Yeah, to me anyway, neither the face sculpt nor the mechanical leg on the new Forge look anything like the old one. The leg looks better, the face not so much. Even the gun is new, or at least I haven't been able to place it from anywhere else yet.
  18. We can only hope, my friend, but I think most of us are familiar enough with Hasbro's act that the only thing we really expect from them anymore is to keep expecting.
  19. By in large the majority of reveals were good, but looking over and over again and scrutinizing the official pics, as I tend to do, I have two issues. Firstly, the new Forge figure, and his leg in particular, are much better than the first attempt, but man, that face sculpt is a complete downgrade. What happened there? Secondly, none too happy about them doing Rogue on the Shriek buck, or some derivative of it. If all they were gonna do is paint on the bustier top, why not do it on the correct buck? Also, at the very least, there is an ACTUAL female torso with a bustier top that they used for Scarlet Witch and Wasp and maybe a few others that don't come to mind immediately. That mold is a very underused one that would have been perfect here. I just don't understand how they make sure to make a point that the new Cyclops was done on a sculpt that would track accurately with the previous Cyclops figures, yet with Rogue they completely isht the bed, just like they do with most of the female figures. Sometimes these guys are so excited to show off their Johnsons, they can't keep from stepping on them, over and over again.
  20. I wouldn't say I HATED it, or even disliked it, it just did not do it for me. Actually, with the lack of an actual New Mutants book at the time I had really high hopes for this one, but it was just......just. I read it, I collected it, I still have the original run, but it was just nothing that still resonates with me. I didn't like the uniforms, I didn't like any of the characters, aside from M and Jubilee (and later Chamber), and the story and action just seemed mediocre. Of course Bachalo's art is stunning, but of all things he's never been all that good at character design. The whole blood red with black leather and the yellow contrast and the chunky boots and oversized gloves and shoulder pads that looked heavy and like they just got in the way, it was a little much. It just looked so restrictive and non-functional. If it'd been one particular character's costume it would have been one thing, but as a team uniform it was all just kinda gaudy to me at the time. That being said, I suppose that's the major reason (beside the terrible head sculpt) I don't like the M figure and honestly am not excited for future GenX figures, though I will probably still buy them, TBH.
  21. Yet they sure as hell screwed that pooch. I do like the Spider UK mold, but it is completely wrong for Fang. Another typical Hasbro oversight. He is listed at 5"4'. The Wolverine mold would have totally been appropriate. With a mold as specific as the Wolverine mold this was a missed opportunity for Hasbro to make good use of it for someone rather than Wolvie. I know I can't be alone in expecting that Fang would eventually make his appearance as another Wolverine figure with a swap head. Where is Dwight when all these design decisions are being made?
  22. I did not know that. I'm sure if I remembered hard enough I might be able to recall, but as the worst and most forgettable X-Spinoff, IMO, I really didn't care for GenX enough to bother with it. Another reason why I'm so, so, so terribly disappointed by that Monet figure. Y'know, beside the ugly colors, the ugly face sculpt and the tiny head thing.
