  1. Yeah I saw like two complete sets at a Walmart over the weekend. All the corners of the cards had been bent though.
  2. ive only seen the red goliath. if i have the BAF giant man -- what are the merits of picking up either the red or yellow goliath in addition to the BAF? (i'm considering getting the yellow one if they ever get shipped to my area.)
  3. i use nail clippers myself. quite effective and everyone has one (i would think!)
  4. My TRU order finally arrived. They were the variant packs :) Unfortunately, they no longer seem to be online.
  5. i bought the pictureless two packs off tru.com. i hope they're the stealth iron man and dum dum packs.
  6. i got email confirmation from tru for the kree/skrull and fury/hand packs, so hopefully i'll receive those soon. now i just need to get the iron man pack somehow....
  7. I'm not too disappointed with these choices. As a new character, Valkyrie is fine with me. As an update, I really like the Black Widow. I'd rather have this Black Widow on my shelf (replacing the fugly Toy Biz one) than some C-list character. Deadpool does look good, but I was happy with the Toy Biz one, so that I personally could have done without it. Id rather have gotten Madrox. Anyway, the true concern is what these figures will be packed with. I'm gonna cry if it's the Wolverine, Hulk, or Bagman Spider-Man. I REALLY DON'T WANT THOSE.
  8. yeah the spider-man line sucked right from the beginning. they should just kill it if they're not going to release new characters. i have to admit though, the new red/blue spider-man looks amazing. i really want that one.
  9. I'm pretty surprised by the obscurity of some of these characters. In any case, I'm for all of them... except I DEFINITELY do not want Hulk, Wolverine, or Bagman. In general I'd rather get a new character than a redone one, but that Black Widow looks great. The one we have is fugly.
  10. what is this poo. this ticks me off that it sounds like they're proud that they're releasing these where only a select few will be able to procure them. they make no indication that they will be releasing these across the rest of the country. but i'm HOPING that one or both of the two outcomes follow from this: 1) they'll have so many (unlikely) at san diego that all the eventual ebay auctions will drive the price down to a price point that i deem acceptable. 2) walmart will be like OMGGGG these things actually sell!!! ppl are buying a ridiculous amount of these in san diego, maybe we should actually put these out on shelves EVERYWHERE!!!11! i WANT to be on hasbro's side, so i'm really hoping hasbro is doing whatever they can to get these out there, and are trying to use this situation as a stepping stone to lead to outcome 2.
  11. cool, thanks for the pics. for figures that may never (and probably will never) be released i'd say it's not too much money to spend, especially if you have the cash to burn. *sigh* i agree it's been forever since i bought an ML.
  12. I'm getting impatient. Mainly because these have already been released elsewhere and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see these.
  13. I'm still very much on the fence. There are a lot of reasons not to buy them: -High price point (right now probably the biggest factor) -Hard to start over -Maybe TOO much initial product to keep track and keep up on (can be a major problem if distribution sucks) -Series one sculpts kinda suck (although series two looks a lot better IMO) But the important question is, can the toy hungry side of me resist? I resisted Superhero Squad at first, then I plunged in and bought a ton. Then later I decided to quit (largely due to horrible paint apps in general). I can see this happening to me for MU. Buy a few here and there, then go on a binge, then regret it.
  14. In retrospect, buying Toad on clearance for $4.80. Who knew that it would be worth so much later.
  15. I've been spending too much money lately. I don't mind a slower pace in releases.
  16. Ummm, before you start running around to stores, just to be clear, we're talking about the Spectacular Spider-Man figures based on the current animated series, NOT the Spider-Man Classics or whatever they're called nowadays.
  17. The FO DD looks like Joe Quesada's art IMO. I still think it's pretty good. I actually really like Hasbro's MLs as of late, except for the SIZE issues. They're much too small. It ruins the fun of pairing them with DCUC (and I guess with ToyBiz MLs).
  18. i got the lizard from target, but i still need electro and rhino. i think the spider-mans from the first series are better, so if you have those already, i'd pass on the new ones (saw them and passed on them). the paint apps and the webbing just look "off" to me.
  19. hasbro/walmart make me so angry sometimes. slushyfrog smash! i'm just glad i caved and bought the set on ebay earlier this week while using a 10% off coupon. came out to about $16 a figure. :-/
  20. Nice thread idea. I actually find it pretty interesting to see what others collect aside from MLs. Main Collections: Marvel Legends (nigh-completist, spinoff lines (Spider-Man, movie lines, etc) Spectacular Spider-Man (the animated series figures) DCUC (nigh-completist, Movie Masters) Battlestar Galactica Minimates Indiana Jones 3.75" scale, Adventure Heroes Toynami Futurama Other Stuff: A couple Mighty Muggs NECA Ninja Turtles DC Direct Batmans (all the different artist renditions of Batman)
  21. are there any reasonable alternatives for getting the ares wave rather than checking walmart or through ebay?
  22. got mine too! echo... echo... echo..... i can't decide if i want to open it or not. the packaging is so nice, but i open (almost) all of my figures.
  23. i got the venom 'cause it's a "new" character, or rather an old character in an old symbiote to create a character with a new costume. personally i would've preferred a smoother slick looking venom to reflect Terry Dodson's art better.
  24. Checked a few Walmarts over the weekend and didn't find any. Not even a hint of them. They had TONS of movie Hulk and movie Iron Man figures. Are people even still buying these things? It's driving me nuts that that's all I see at Target and Walmart. Barely any DC Classics either, but tons of 5" Dark Knight figures. UGH.
