  1. Got em both today in South Austin.

Had 1 Iron Man left and no War Machine. Overall I gotta say WM is the better of the two. I'm not sure what they were thinking w/ the leg joints on Iron Man but it doesn't work. WM's are more fluid. Visually though, they both look awesome. A bit too tall to blend in w/ other ML figures but they are sharp as hell.

Sorry kid, must be "this tall" to ride the Mark IV.

  2. check your local HEB if you have one near you. I had all of wave 7 except for Cap & Bucky and went to HEB this morning for a folder. I figured I'd run by the toy aisle just for fun and they had the entire set on the pegs. Two Thor, two Luke Cage, two Extremis IM and one each of Cap, Bucky and Black Widow. Obviously I got the two I needed. I don't know how far HEB stretches here in the states but they are all over Texas so those in need, check em out. MU is usually stocked pretty well but to see the newest wave, I was a bit suprised. Funny thing is that for whatever reason they wouldn't ring up in their system this morning so I got em both for $6 each.

    what's HEB?

It's a big grocery store chain here in Texas. Probably the biggest one that I can think of. It's probably 95% grocery/pharmacy stuff and the remaining 5 are odds and ends like pet food, toys & basic household items.

  4. Man if only. If done right, I'd also kill for some 90s XMen sets. Hell, a Maximum Carnage would absolutely rock:

Maximum Carnage: Spider Man, Cloak, Dagger, Carnage Shriek Doppleganger-Spiderman (we already have Demogoblin and Carrion wouldn't be fun)

X Men Blue & Gold teams.

Blue team:Cyclops (a muscled up Jim Lee version), Jubilee, Wolverine (because they'll do it no matter what) and a Rogue Hasbro style since the one thing they can do better than Toy Biz is capture the way a woman looks

Gold team: JIM LEE JEAN F'N GREY, Archangel - again, muscled up like Cyclops, better wings, without the skullcap, Bishop...I always felt the TB version was too big and of course Storm since she was the leader. Maybe in a silvery costume?

X Factor : Havok, Polaris, Strong Guy, Forge, Madrox & Sabretooth in his red outfit from his XFactor stint

  6. had a nice lil monster haul yesterday. I'll include the Gigantic Battle sets since I"l be incorporating the big guys in my ML setup.

Had both Shield/Ninja sets already, picked up another. Finally got the 1st FF set at Marshall's for $12.99. That Mr. Fantastic is really, really bad. The other 3 are decent, Torch & Thing being the best but that Reed is terrible.

Found both of these at a Temple, TX walmart which is hilarious that I was in Austin, TX, went to 4 Wal-Marts and didn't even see a shelf sticker for them, instead I find em in my own town.

    101_0136-1.jpg

Finally got my hands on the 1st MU Wolverine. Looks like a massive re-release as others have said as there were figures of everyone except Bullseye. When I say I saw every MU figure yesterday, I mean it, all the way up to wave 5. Except for Bullseye.

Throwing this pic in just for fun.

    101_0140-1.jpg

Plan to get 2 more sets of the shield/ninja sets so I can have 4 of each color and then probably 2 more IM/Carter sets as I want the females, just have no use for the extra Iron Man figs....

  7. My Face Off series is now officially complete but i must say it's a bittersweet completion as the paint on this Iron Man figure, is really sloppy. Nothing that can't be fixed or even noticed from afar but still. Scorpion was a favorite of mine in my first ML go round so I'm glad to have him back as well. Both of these came from the same seller on eBay.

These 4 beauties are proof of what Hasbro can do when they get off their asses and try. I don't mind repaints, resculpts WHEN THEY WORK and these are figures that it works for. The Nemesis wave is now officially forgiven and out of the new 2 packs, I'm only missing the Invisible Woman/Torch set but I'd really like to get a chance to build up the armies, but all of the TRU around here suck. Hopefully with these selling so well we'll get alot more. Fingers crossed.

  8. 103_0611.jpg

Vengeance was another I never had in my previous run. I solid figure but nothing spectacular.

    103_06141.jpg

Didn't like the original Widow then, don't like it now. Terrible face. The Logan is another I didn't have but wish I would have. I really like this figure though I'd love to get a different face for him.

    Finally......

    103_05671.jpg

This set is great. The Punisher is great, the weapons are great, Jigsaw is.....well....he's alright but he's freakin Jigsaw so I'll take it. Ran me $31 on eBay which is a steal considering what I've seen it go for.

    103_05651.jpg

last but not least. As much as this set ran me, I'm not impressed. Mandarin is terrible. War Machine has a bad paint ap. A nice figure but I think I'm looking forward to the modular armor IM which will hopefully be in tomorrow or Thursday.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed. Don't worry, all of these guys (and girls) escaped their plastic prisons shortly after pictures were taken!

  9. my latest haul! Yes I know we have an "official" haul thread but that thread gets like 1 response a day if that. That said, since I'm constantly getting new stuff in, figured I'd make my own personal haul thread (if that's okay w/ you guys.) I started collecting ML back in April. I had them way back in '04-'06 but sold my entire collection. I've since started over and have built my collection better than it ever was. Out of the entire Toy Biz line, I'm missing now 18 single carded figures (minus the Giant Man series) half of which are from Series 1 (Toad, Hulk, variant Iron Man figs) and Series 2 (everyone but variant Doom & Namor). W/ the pics below, I've got all of the Face Off sets (IM/Mandarin should be here this week!) and now will finish filling in the holes in my Hasbro ML figs & the SMC, XMC & FFC I've missed along the way. (Only need Absorbing Man and I'll be done w/ Hulk Classics!) Once I feel ready, I'll post my entire setup. So....that said, here's a haul from the last 7 days! Mephisto presents....

    103_05551.jpg

other than Phasing GR, this officially makes my ML7 set complete. 3 years later, I appreciate that Weapon X more than I ever did way back when!

    103_05641.jpg

Maestro pissed me off as I apparently got one that didn't come packaged w/ an arm tube. This angers me. Anyway. Maestro here looks like my father n law. Just green.

    103_0606.jpg

Got these two & Vengeance over the weekend in San Antonio. Red cost me $17 because a comic store there was 50% off the store and he was all I needed from their stock. Kinda pissed his shoulder pads seem to have some sun fading. The Variant Widow is alot better than the normal version. She ran me $35 which seemed steep but I figured why go through eBay and deal w/ sniping, shipping, etc when it's RIGHT HERE in front of me. Plus I never had the figure in my original run.

  10. To mark a first for me since starting over my Marvel Legends/Select collection, I picked up my first custom. I saw it on eBay and clicked out of curiosity. When I saw the low BIN price for a nice looking figure, I had the seller send me more pics to make sure the paint was good. I took a chance and picked it up and am super glad I did so. This figure is AWESOME. It fits in seamlessly w/ no brush strokes or smudges. A nice recolor and while having a giant ass Hulk sized robot nicknamed "Stealth" is a bit of an oxymoron, I still love it!

    103_05351.jpg

yes that is a spare Xbox 360 I have. Yes it's for sale.

    103_05371.jpg

    You lookin at me?

    103_05401.jpg

Because fighting the Hulk is just silly

  11. Last 48 hours, this stuff came in:

Finally got Hawkeye & Gummy Vision to round out my ML 7 set. Just need phasing Ghost Rider....

    103_05001.jpg

Uatu & the variant FF set came packaged together today.

Uatu is my 3rd MS fig behind Mephisto & Sabretooth. Just need to find Thanos....

    103_05251.jpg

    103_05291.jpg

Colossus & Iceman also came in today. I REALLY think this Colossus would've been awesome had it just been a straight shiny repaint of ML 5 instead of the retooled version I have here. Iceman is going to rock when i open him. Already have Bobby Drake and the body is the same so i expect it to blow ML8 Iceman out of the water.

  12. 103_04651.jpg my "catch up" MU haul from yesterday. The Silver Iron Man is really cool and has moved to the top of my list of MU IM figures.

103_04701.jpg Funny thing. Back of the card lists Skrulls about 6 inches shorter than the average Kree yet this Skrull TOWERS over the Kree soldier. Need about 3 more of these sets but since I think i'm the only one at my local TRU who buys these, I should be fine.

103_04721.jpg Found these today at Wal Mart, no sign of Spider Woman & Iron Man.

  13. Here's a pretty sweet 5 day haul that I've gotten. Not pictured but also received were ML2 Namor, ML 10 Angel, ML 7 Iron Man, ML 7 Vision & ML 7 Apocalypse. Anyway, I'll post this both here and both the ML & MU haul threads. Enjoy!

MS Sabretooth is AWESOME. I went back & forth on whether to include it as part of my ML setup but he is hulking and monstrous just like in the X Men cartoon. Sweet sweet figure! I was about to get the limited edition Wolverine at Best Buy but I couldn't justify another $20 for a crappy looking bust.

    103_04911.jpg comparison to Forge

103_04931.jpg Going all Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Forge
