  1. Interesting they used an Icon's body for Goliath rather than the BAF Giant-Man. I wonder what this means for the Sentinel Gigantic Battles figure? I had assumed they'd just be using the BAF's. Maybe the Sentinel is too big and detailed for Hasbro. They seem to like to dumb things down. I'm really hoping that Sentinel comes out without any reduction in articulation or detailing.
  2. The Spidey's don't look too bad but the GG seems to have both the dreaded t-crotch and the has-blo elbows and knees. There obviously aren't intended for the ML collector. I guess they're meant for kids. I'll be passing.
  3. While I'm sorry that we only got one new figure from the poll results, I can't say I'm surprised. The fact is, I'm astounded we didn't get stuck with yet another Hulk. A lot of people don't value new characters the way I do. The way these things go, I'm glad we got at least one new one. Hopefully Hasbro's choices will feature more originals, but I have a feeling they're going to stick us with that Hulk.
  4. I'm really happy about Valkyrie and Black Widow. I wish Hasbro would at least tool some new legs for Valkyrie, but I'll take what I can get. I don't need another Deadpool but I'm hoping he comes with Warpath. I won't be buying a Deadpool Wolverine 2-pack since I already have both. I was hoping that cool looking Constrictor would win. Hopefully Hasbro will take a chance and not stick us with yet another Hulk and Wolverine. Valkyrie and Constrictor would be great. He did fight the Defenders so there is a connection, if one is needed.
  5. That really does look a lot better. And here all this time I thought the problem was with his head. Maybe I'll do the head swap and then give the head a bit of a paint wash. Thanks for the idea.
  6. The Hasbro reps do claim to read these boards. They have implemented changes following complaints we have voiced, such as getting rid of the new knee joint and adding more detailing and some paint washes. At SDCC, I would talk to the reps about things fans had said over night, pros and cons, following the new stuff being shown. Bitching here is like giving direct feedback to Hasbro so that they can incorporate our wants in their decision making. So . . whine away!
  7. That new Galactus looked really quite cool close up. I'd like to see him side-by-side with the BAF Galactus to decide whether he needs updating. The new ones proportions seemed just fine. He looks like a giant, which is how he's suppose to look.
  8. I was surprised by Hasbro's comment that they had no line to place Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo to get them released. I suppose that means we have seen the last of 6 inch Iron Man. Why not include them in Spider-Man classics? He's fought both. We not give us 4 2-packs in 2010? Why not do another wave of Iron Man? There are plenty of Iron Man variant armors they could do, not to mention other villains like Whirlwind and Blizzard. Keep 6 inch Iron Man alive, Hasbro! We will buy new figures!
  9. I think Mulitple Man is a definite whether we pick him or not. The Hasbro rep at SDCC acknowledged the fan request to include another army builder with him, however there isn't another army builder in the figures to choose from, unless it's another Maddrox, which would be totally cool. If there were two version of Multiple Man in a 2-pack, I'd buy three or four. It's possible though that won't include an army builder with him. Look at Iron Man and the female SHIELD agent. How many Iron Mans am I going to get stuck with because of that? I love that they used the Skrull with the Kree, since both are army builders. Included in the two pack with Mutiple Man, assuming he wins, I'd like etiher a variant Multiple Man, an AIM or a Hellfire Club soldier. The only catch with Hellfire is that I would then like the Hellfire officers.
  10. I am enjoying MU so I'm glad to be getting the Wrecking Crew there, but that is not satisfying my Wrecking Crew needs. I definitely want a Crew in 6 inch ML scale. Maybe if they sell well in MU scale, Hasbro will consider it. There is definitely room for both in my collection. I wonder if Hasbro is intentionally slowing down ML and giving us long requested figures in MU to compell us to pick up MU, get invested in it, and then they will continue regularly with both lines, getting our dollars for both.
  11. In case it hasn't been mentioned, I asked the Hasbro rep at SDCC if the three ML figures that Hasbro would be picking for the 2010 wave of 2-packs would come from the prototypes shown. He said yes. That means we will be getting 6 of the prototypes shown, 3 we pick, 3 they pick.
  12. There's a news post on Marvelous News as to why Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo aren't being shown. They might not be released. Second, Hasbro is going to release another 3 ML figures with the 3 we pick. Now that you mention the Silver Samurai, I really hope he's one of those because he was a good looking prototype. Third, it is Hasbro's fault the ML has taken a nose dive. As soon as they got the license they downgraded the quality of the figures, removing points of articulation, taking away paint washes and making some very poor figures. They lost a lot of fan interest. Hasbro did, however, seem to learn a lot. The MU figures have a lot of those features and their recent ML figures have shown a lot of improvement. I really hope the new figures sell well and the Marvel team at Hasbro will be able to justify to the guys who control the money that this line is viable and worth continuing.
  13. Marvel Select isn't really going to improve the complaints people might have about the already released figures. They tend to have less articulation than ML and can have more stylized designs.
  14. That does tie into another topic going about how some people are selling off their collections because of the economy. Now is a great time to pick up some of those figures that people might have missed.
