  1. Yeah, they're exactly the same. Only the Revolutions figures had slight paint differences.

Been wanting to make an update JoL for a while, got the Avengers black IM today for cheaps and bashed this together -

Nice. Where does the head come from?

  2. DUDE WHATS THE DEAL WITH THIS DISTRIBUTION ? THE BAY AREA HASNT GOT WAVE 18 OR 19

    WTF !

They have it's just been sparse. My buddy found wave 18 (cept BRB) in a Fremont Target about 3 weeks ago.

TRU have wave 18 in Bradenton.

Thanks for the heads up, but i live in California

bradenton is in Florida right ?

Yup. When you said bay area, I thought you meant Tampa Bay area. :P

  3. Thanks to spiderdan

dang, I missed getting to post on page 500!

Hey, Wolvie, is that an official variant or did someone make a custom and make it look packaged for you? I don't know if I like her with the short hair but I'd take some for that head.

It's real. somewhere on the internet there is a pic from a panel at one of the cons from before Black Widow was released and it showed her with 2 alternate heads- this one with short red hair and the infamous Blond Yelena

edit: found the pic. It was actually the hair's that were removable. This "proto" is sitting a little high or back like some of the big foreheaded X-23's did

I hope this mean that the blonde widow is coming soon.

  4. anyone use dullcoat or clearcoat to seal figures? does it better help to prevent scratching?

i wish i could customize, all my gear is in another state.

That would make it more difficult to make customs. Lol. I've clearcoated my figures. I've had mix experiences with it honestly (my own fault tbs). Sometimes, I've oversprayed them, and they get sticky. No es bueno! Also, the stuff I've used would make some parts paler (also when over applied). Most of the time, the overspraying would happen because I either (a) stood too close while spraying, or (b) I misjudged how evenly I was spraying. You don't want the stuff getting runny, especially not in the joints. It takes some trial and error.

As for the prevention of scratches... one or two figs with the coat have still scratched from light roughing up. If there's a better method, I'd love to hear it.

What do the rest of you think? What do you use? Any tips?

Model/maxicure/hobbycraft/superglue -light layer on joints, make sure it is smooth and tapered. be very careful not to put it 'in' the joints. use it sparingly and put it on the figure before you put it back together when possible.

Did you use paintbrush to the glue on or you used something else?

16611768[/url]' date='Jun 23 2012, 07:21 AM']Hey Onyx have you ever had a Nick Fury head in your store before?

    White or black Nick Fury?

    White Nick Fury

White as long as he's white in 616

Ehhh.. got some bad news for ya...

At first I was confused when I read that, until I look it up on the internet. Now, I know why Fury was black in Scarlet Spider #5...

  6. @ mattallica Awesome Ghost rider! the metal spikes makes a big difference, what you used for it?

Heres my attempt at a Sentinel, just a repaint of movie Iron Monger, was torn between making him to a sentinel or doombot but i decided to go with the sentinel instead (with doombot he'll probably just be a green Iron Monger). Whats funny is when my wife saw it she was like "wow what a cute robot" , In my mind i was like "Sentinels cute?!? they hunt and kill mutants nothing cute about that" , then i look at the sentinel oh its the paint scheme i use pink and lavender lol girlie paint scheme. So im going to post these pics with Wolverine to add "Macho"-ness to the Sentinel.DSC_0327.jpg">DSC_0329.jpg">DSC_0332.jpg">DSC_0333.jpg">

Add glitters, make it shoot rainbows, and give it an unicorn to ride. Then it will be macho. :P

  7. Well don't be so quick to celebrate. I used to have my collection on a book shelf in our bed room, and she always seemed cool with it, but as soon as the shed was securable she said OUT THEY GO! Hehehe She doesn't seem to really mind too much as long as I don't use the money in the checking or savings account.

Here's one of my customs that I did a month or 2 ago. I was just waiting until I found the board to take pics.

    Recipe:

    Head- XMOW Gambit (modified)

    Body- Silver Surfer

Wings- Savage Land Angel (Pre-Legends Toybiz)

Wing articulation (ball-pivot & sleeve)- POC Jungle Viper

I seperated the hair from the rest of gambit's head and trimmed down both pieces so that the hair fit lower on his head, and then painted both pieces appropriately before I reattatched them together. I use Krylon flat white for the base-coat for the entire figure, painted appropriately, clear-coated, and used Krazy-glue for added joint protection. I also attatched the Jungle Viper pieces to the body and wings, joint sleeves on the former, and ball joint on the latter. I filled the sleeves with Krazy-Glue litte bit by little bit until they could hold the weight of the wings in a solid upward pose. I finished up with a thin glossy white coat that was brushed on the wings to make them stand out a little bit from the rest of the white paint.

The idea for using Krylon paints as the base for Fantomex, Iceman, and Angel came from an OPP poster named Iron Will. I don't know if he's active here as well.

Is the halo is done by hand or is it a decal? Look awsome.

  9. I was itching to make a ragged looking Morbius the Living Vampire, My take on him...

    what you think?

    Head is from O.P.P.

    legs are Union Jack,

body is A Goblin, arms are made from a Ghost rider with the red leg bandannas from union jack relocated and painted, hands are from a Namor.

Cape is a red piece of Fabric.

    Thanks for looking,

Morbius recruiting a couple alternate universe characters from the dead....

What do you use for the wings on both of them? They look awsome.

  10. I got a question for customizers here:

Which brand of acrylic paints you guys prefer? Testor? Gameworkshop? Or others?

I asked this question because I've decided to get into customizing, and I'm wondering, with your experinces, which brand of paint is the "go to" brand.
