  1. Thanks for the compliments. Yes, the hair is from that blue Baroness. I just ripped the hair off and repainted it. My first Invisible Woman used the Cover Girl's hair plus a repainted Ms. Marvel face. I made this way back when MU just started hahaha. It's looks funny to me now.
  2. I haven't had time to work on anything major for while now, but I have been doing minor repaints and touchups here and there. Gambit has a new coat and a couple cards, repainted Wolverines's belt to break up the monotony of yellow, did a little height extension on Magneto's waste (might be too subtle), and repainted dark Phoenix. Updated Fantastic Four. Added flames to Johnny, a "4" buckle for Ben, simple head swap for Reed, and Sue has new hair (didn't like it short) and I slapped it on the body of my original custom. Finally have a modern Cap worthy of the title Super Soldier. Basically a mixture of previous releases, plus the head of the newest one.
  3. Holy crap, that is nice! Not to mention that is my favorite look for Batman. I especially love the painting. I would be all over DCIC figures if they looked anything near this. Any plans on Nightwing or the rest of the bat family?
  4. Hi guys. It's been a while but after scrolling through about 20 pages to catch up on what I've missed, I gotta say that the customs here are really nice. I really can't wait to see that Ben Grimm when you're done with it Onyx. Anyways, here's a custom that was done thanks to Mr. Jin Saotome. If I hadn't seen his custom first, I wouldn't have the slightest idea on how to do this. Before I saw his Marvel Universe Gambit, I was satisfied with the one Hasbro gave us. But after seeing what Mr. Saotome did, I had to borrow the recipe. So here he is. It's basically X:O Wolverine's Gambit with a coat from DC Infinite Heroes Hush and neck piece thing from DC Infinite Heroes Manhunter (and of course both coat and neck piece had to be painted to match ). The original figure... Here he is next to my quicky fix astonishing Wolverine. I basically gave Wolverine the Secret Wars 2-pack Wolverine head and painted the nose a little to make it thinner. Here you can see how his nose looks a little wide... (picture thanks to marvelousnews)
  5. No, it's actually hand painted. I was initially thinking about doing a water slide decal, but found that it was too small for me to work with. This is one reason why I'm starting to like customizing on this scale as opposed to the 6" scale. On the plus side, I find that the slightest imperfections aren't as obvious in this smaller scale. The downside? Working in this scale (just so small ). By the way, I really like that Songbird, PushYouDown. We really need more females in this line I think.
  6. Very nice Carnage! He looks crazy, which isn't a bad thing. The sculpting compound I used is fixit from aves studios, but I'm sure anything that you can use to sculpt and can sand should work. Here are some pictures. Again, I like that Carnage iaconstudios.
  7. Thanks for all the comments. Here's a quick photo shoot for Invisible Woman and a really quick custom thanks to DarthOnyx. General Hawk's head initially sat too high on the neck for me. I had to hollow out the inside of the head so much that I almost went through to the top of his head. Painted the white on his hair and easy shmeasy. I finally have my Fantatic Four in the 4" scale.
  8. Thanks for commenting everyone. When I first got my Invaders box set, I thought that I could deal with his height. He'll just be a short Nazi. But when my girlfriend saw my display, she asked, "Why does that guy look shrimpy?" I then thought ok, I guess it is a problem. I took Destro from ROC, added the little patch thing on his left arm, and painted the upper body. I also had to adjust the neck a little because the head initially was too loose for the ball joint. Before After With gun holster
  9. Thanks for the comments everyone. Again, I wouldn't have done this without seeing all the other customs on this board first. I thought I mentioned the recipe but that must have been on thefwoosh . Basically it's Ms. Marvel body and head plus G.I. Joe ROC cover girl hair. It took me forever to decide on what head to use. I searched all over brokenarrow but none of them was what I was looking for. I was thinking about just doing a direct transplant of cover girl's head, but she looks a little manly. After seeing iaconstudios' Phoenix here, I thought to myself I might as well take a crack at using Ms. Marvel's head. It was such a pain to sand off her mask, sculpt a little over it, and then paint it. I don't know which was worse, sanding or painting the face. I'm just glad it came out ok. The blue was mixed to try matching the others uniforms and the 4 is also painted on. I was planning on doing a water slide decal for that but it would have been way too small to work with. Again, thanks for all the comments.
  10. These are all great customs, especially that Dr. Doom miked. I sure hope we get Doom soon and looks something close to that. After being inspired by all these and because the Fantastic Four and their family is my favorite marvel group, I've decided to try making the Invisible Woman. You'll notice that Mr. Fantastic is headless for now. I just bought a 25th anniversary Hawk (thanks to DarthOnyx for the idea) and will attach that once it comes in. When the Secret Wars 2-pack comes out, I'll have to see which head I like better. Here's how it looks as a whole... bad lighting...
