  1. Grabbed Falcon, Scarlet Spider and CLASSIC MS. MARVEL (!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY !!!!!!!!!) at Wal-Mart. Falcon easily the best of the bunch. SS's left leg popped off.
  2. Gambit was the first price jump to $21.99. Juggernaut, Cyclops, Magneto, Deadpool, Abomination reissue were all $19.99 shipped (most still are).
  3. The Marvel Select Spider-Man is the best Spidey toy ever and the articulation for it rules. I hate "too much" articulation, personally, but I've got him posed crouched and web shooter out on my desk shelf just like in the comics.
  4. I think the ML figures look very skinny and skimpy. I guess I'll pick and choose some good ones once they hit retail to go with the Select figures. The Exclusive SDCC Thor makes for a cool display piece. Not really feeling any of Wave 1 outside of Terrax, who is a rather small choice for a BAF to begin with and will be a $50-60+ Ebay pain to get ahold of, certainly with the rising retail costs. Edit: Kinda funny that "Movie Ghost Rider" (aka comic Ketch) turned out to be the winner of this set when I think I'm not the only person who groaned upon hearing of a "movie figure" in Wave 1.
  5. I like that Odin helmet a lot. The Wolverine is nice and very comic-like, just the belt needs a little touching up.
  6. I'm sure these will FLY off the shelves for $17.99 to $20.99.
  7. Thor Series 2 isn't really out yet nationwide, so just wait a little bit.
  8. I think they're both brilliant figures. The variant is based off of this: I dig the darker purple. I think I might get the standard one now that I think about it. I want the more classic Jim Lee since I;m only getting one. I really think the variant is cool, though. Maybe if I see it for cheap. Does anyone have LOOSE pics of the standard one? Not the prototype image from months ago. The face looks weird on the MOC one but I suspect its from the packaging.
  9. When the long-haired version shows up on Amazon (not a third party seller) or BBTS I'll scoop it up. Or wait til NYCC and get it for $12-15. I love Marvel Select.
  10. MU is better. Bigger and we get two versions. The ML one isn't even a "true" Sentinel, it's a hero from one of Grant Morrison's final awful X-Men story.
  11. My TRU has had like 7 each of the Blue Sentinel and Apocalypse rotting on the shelf for weeks. Weird, they didn't get the classic Sentinel. They're cool for Minimates I suppose.
  12. It takes Mattel, quote, "a full year" to get a new character out. I'd assume the same for Hasbro. Blackest Night ended a little over a year ago and most of the key characters who got figures from Mattel recently had already appeared before the Blackest Night storyline. Story started in October 2009 with #0 so of course they got the GL figures out for it this winter. Then again, this is Mattel, who actually gets you the characters you want by the best sculptors (Four Horsemen) in the business.
  13. Cancelled. aka someone e-mailed him to do the sale thru PayPal and avoid Ebay fees.
  14. How are these figures not sealed in cases? Why would someone bid $400-$1000 and trust UPS to not ding up the packaging?
  15. Stopped @ a random K-Mart when I was down south for the MonsterMania 18 convention in Baltimore and found 10 box sets of International Patriots so I bought a pack with great paint apps. A lot of the Cap Britains had red paint all over the "skin" parts of the face. Also, a bunch of Red Guardians had messed up stars on the chest. $19.99 Both the Wal-Mart and K-Mart I went to in that area had NO Marvel Universe pegs. But about 12 pegs full of THOR at each! Good thing X-Men First Class wasn't totally awesome and great and amazing and everyone isn't buzzing about it and no kids want any X-Men toys now! Those 75 peg-warming THORS at every store will make the kids happy!
  16. Anyone make a customized Bucky Cap from Fear Itself #3 yet?
  17. Wicked, the Captain Britain is a lazy attempt at Cap from the MI-13 series. The flag on the chest should go all the way down to the stomach, which they didn't do feel like painting as it's a separate piece from the upper torso. He shouldn't have a mask. Could snag a Duke head or Commander Rogers head to fix this?
  18. Better hurry, Amazon prices are rising... Abomination went up from $19 to $24 Juggernaut went up from $18 to $35 Deadpool went from $18 to $27 (with pre-orders at $19 but who knows when they'd restock)
  19. Going forward I'll likely order them off Amazon for $18-20 shipped. They're basically statues but damn, for that price, statue away. So far I've got: Juggernaut $18 on Amazon Abomination $20 on Amazon Wolverine (Brown Costume) $8 on BBTS Sabretooth (Classic Costume) $8 on BBTS The Thing $12 at NYCC Spider-Man $12 at NYCC Vendors at cons seem to sell these cheap. So heavy to transport, must wanna unload them.
  20. My wallet is hurting. Past 2 weeks pick-ups: 2 weeks ago: Giant-Size X-Men Box Set (TRU) Last Wednesday: Wolverine First Appearance, Gladiator, U.S. Agent Monday: Winter Soldier, Ultimates Cap, WW2 Cap, Deadpool/Taskmaster, Silver Samurai/Wolverine Friday: Cable w/ Hope, Cyclops, Apocalypse Today: Crossbones, Captain Britain, Heroic Age Cap, Odin (Gold & Tan Armor) I passed on the two X-Men: First Class box sets. Already have those (or better) versions of Wolverine & Sabretooth, and I have no interest in the "First Class" continuity Cyclops/Jean costumes. I think Hasbro could've sold the real "First Appearance" Cyclops and Jean costumes (or do Jean's green Marvel Girl costume and a first appearance Cyclops) and sold just as well if not better (since collectors actually know these costumes). Meh. Just need Red Skull (in no rush, tho) to be caught up, then Wave 14 awaits. CAN GET FOR YOU TOMORROW MORNING: FROST GIANT and LOKI ($25, tax, shipping) GOLIATH and THOR CLONE ($25, tax, shipping) Moon Knight, Silver Surfer, Gladiator (crummy face paint tho, $8, tax, shipping each) Samurai/Patch 2-Pack ($15, tax, shipping) Lemme know before I make me rounds on way to work.
  21. I don't think the Black Panther (despite Marvel's numerous attempts) is popular enough to just assume he'd have a figure made. I'd be down for a cool Panther figure, though.
  22. Went to a Memorial Day party, on the way stopped at a Target I've never been to before. They had FA Wolverine on the peg. Scanned it, "In Stockroom: YES" He went back and brought me Cable with Hope (!!!), Apocalypse (!), and another Cyclops to trade, WINNING
