  1. The black is fine, it actually looks better than all blue. My issue is with the greenish paint job on the torso, hands, and feet. It's like three colors (blue, green, black) that clash.
  2. Gonna have to disagree. The BAF Apocalypse, both the standard and variant, are based off of Apocalypse from X-Men Vs. Street Fight old action figure series. Here's the standard. NO GREEN TORSO, NO BLACK. Just shades of blue. And here's the greenish/black variant the BAF "black" one was based on: So you see... Wrong colored torso, gloves, and boots on the "standard" BAF. They belong (and are on) the "black" one.
  3. Both the "blue" Apocalypse and the "black" Apocalypse both seem to have the sea green & black torso meant for the "black" Apocalypse. Why does the "blue" version have a black & green torso? And why are the "blue" version's gloves and boots green? So ML could more use less paint for the black variant. Ugh. The green works for the "black" variant. But IMO, ruins the blue one, especially with the odd black torso. I'm gonna track down the black version, the blue is totally hideous to me with that green.
  4. I have no doubt given the currently industry standards of DC Universe Classics ($14.99+) and WWE Legends ($14.99) and WWE Elite Collection ($14.99) that they will be no cheaper than $14.99. Given how Marvel seems to jack up their licensing rights, $15.99 to $16.99 is a possibility.
  5. So I've been looking to snag a cheap BAF Apocalypse on Ebay lately. Is it me or does the paint scheme totally not match? I'm not talking about the "black painted variant" but the paint on the standard blue one. Why is his torso BLACK and SEA GREEN? Is this on all of them? I think it looks bad. Maybe it's just how they photograph on Ebay? Like...look at that. The torso is totally different from the rest of the figure to me and stands out. That looks awful.
  6. Perhaps there is more than one MU collector living in an entire city and scalpers aren't to blame.
  7. If you've ever wanted incentive to hit up a con, generally you can find dealers who will sell some of the newer figures for $12-15 MOC. I picked up Abomination, Spider-Man, and The Thing for $35 total at NYCC. He's $19.99 shipped on Amazon.
  8. This is absolutely incredible. The writing is superb and FUN. A+++ work, man. Feel like I'm reading much better work than the real companies put into their crossovers! Just one thing I noticed is Apokolips is spelled "Apocalypse" many times.
  9. Just bought BAF Apocalypse (blue version) for $36 shipped. Also got Marvel Select FA Sabretooth and Brown Costume Wolverine for $8 each and they are very cool, the Sabretooth especially.
  10. Value has nothing to do with how a figure is designed. Marvel Select First Appearance Sabretooth is worth like $8 and is better looking than any Marvel Legends standard-size figure.
  11. Value has nothing to do with how a figure is designed. Marvel Select First Appearance Sabretooth is worth like $8 and is better looking than any Marvel Legends standard-size figure.
  12. Snake, your reviews are incredible, excellent attention to detail, clarity in your speaking, and knowledge on everything. Will continue to check them out! With that said, the yellow/gray Juggernaut costume is hideous. He's also one of my favorite characters, and I thought his time on the X-Men & costume reboot was just one of the many awful travesties brought forth by Chuck Austen. Did you like the run? His friendship with Squidboy was well done, I thought, but the wrong character to put on the team. He is a villain. A wrecking ball.
  13. I don't get the love for Juggernaut. Marvel Select is what the figure should've looked like. - Awkardly too long gorilla arms. - Helmet is too large because the shoulders aren't wide enough. - Stomach/chest area is comically too small compared to the giant long legs. - Legs are too thin. - Hideous ball joint hips. I didn't collect ML when Juggernaut came out, so back THEN I'm sure the "Wow" factor was justified. But looking at it now and how the new Marvel Select blows it away, to put that figure in the Top 10 of all Marvel Legends doesn't do justice to some of the awesome sculpted "normal" sized figures.
  14. It looks nice, but is way too small which is the entire point of the armor! It's like...if Jim Lee drew Andre the Giant as a buff lifeguard. Looks awesome, but fails.
  15. Excuse me, Toy Biz and not Hasbro made a sick Hulkbuster. Hasbro is incapable of such a thing, failing three times now in both the 6" (Iron Man Legends) and 3.75" scales (Iron Man 2 Comic and Movie versions).
  16. I got it, I'll check tomorrow and see if it's still there. I hid it on Friday.
  17. Why would they waste a spot on a scrawny piece of crap Hulkbuster Iron Man when they already put out an amazing version? S--- DON'T MAKE NO SENSE
  18. mika, there's an extra Constrictor at my TRU ($8.97, tax, shipping) if you want me to get him for you.
  19. The original couple lines of Hasbro figures were hideous. Embarassing compared to Toy Biz's sculpts, paint, etc. The new 2-packs are extreme improvements. However, a $34.99+ price point for 2 figures is asinine.
  20. I'll contribute to this in a bit. Lemme look at everything. Edit: First going to list which are the "standouts" to me on each Series, then rank them. Series 1 - Iron Man Series 2 - Thing Series 3 - Wolverine (Unmasked) Series 4 - None (see below for Gambit in Leather Coat) Series 5 - Sabretooth Series 6 - Deadpool, Dark Phoenix, Cable (Blue & Yellow) Series 7 - Apocalypse, Hawkeye Series 8 - Man-Thing Series 9 - Bullseye (Snarling Variant) Series 10 - Angel (Blue or Red), BAF Sentinel Series 11 - Hulkbuster Iron Man Series 12 - Bishop (Classic), Astonishing Wolverine, BAF Apocalypse Wal-Mart Series - BAF Giant-Man Series 13 - BAF Onslaught, Green Goblin (Unmasked) Series 14 - Longshot, Luke Cage Series 15 - Destroyer, Wasp (Red Costume), BAF M.O.D.O.K. Hasbro Series 1 - None Hasbro Series 2 - None, BAF Blob FF Series - None Hasbro Series 3 - Marvel Girl (Black Variant) FFF Series - None, BAF Fin Fang Foom Red Hulk Series - Spiral (Standard), BAF Red Hulk Ares Series - Crossbones, BAF Ares Nemesis Series - BAF Nemesis Exclusive - AOA Sunfire X-Men Box Set: Gambit Urban Legends Box Set: None FF Box Set: None Sinister Six Box Set: Green Goblin (Alex Ross Design) Fearsome Foes Box Set: Rhino Monsters Box Set: None Young Avengers Box Set: Asgardian House of M Box Set: Inhuman Torch All Two-Packs: Deadpool (Standard), Warpath (X-Force), Kree Soldier (Blue) I'd probably rank the standout figures: 1. BAF Sentinel 2. BAF Fin Fang Foom 3. BAF Apocalypse 4. Apocalypse 5. BAF Nemesis 6. Destroyer 7. BAF Blob 8. Bishop (Classic) 9. Dark Phoenix 10. BAF Red Hulk
  21. I'm pretty sure the Classic Ms. Marvel must have been deemed "too sexy" and will not be sold anymore since she is not wearing pants. There is no other explanation why she HAS NEVER BEEN RE-RELEASED, including in the 40,000 Wave 12 revision cases out. But hey, Upside Down Spidey! GET EM WHILE YOU CAN!
  22. Posted this in the Revision Case thread but found something cool today on the way home... My TRU in Connecticut had a strange revision case not listed on BBTS. I cracked it open. :) It had: Kitty Pryde Colossus Thanos Dark Hawkeye Constrictor Modern Thor Iron Spider-Man Ghost Rider Team X Wolverine A couple more I'm forgetting. Sadly none of the wacky variants. I just stopped there on the way home from work (got out early on the snow day). Box said Marvel Universe Wave 1 2011. I asked the guy to open it just in case it might be the revisions and BAM.
