ever get the urge to quit?
SPCollector replied to MrDizzle's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Yeah I feel where you are coming from. I had a pretty significant MU collection that I sold off but then got into legends, the Toy Biz ones. They really catch my interest. Lately though my focus has shifted into the original secret wars line from the 80s and the Marvel Super Heroes line from the 90s. Now these figures are easily some of my favorites. I say go for whatever your current passion is -

Well the good is it still looks like a nice figure, paint seems to be done well ect. But it did say 'custom' right in the title of the listing =\ At least its a nice piece to add to the collection which is always awesome. -

I just ordered a 1994 Toy Biz Green Goblin, pretty excited to expand my collection into older Marvel figures. Also scored a ML IV Punisher and IV Beast (awesome looking figure) this week. -
Pretty cool, especially since Spider-Man is one of my favorites. Would be nice to have the unpainted prototype and the finished product hanging next to each other MIB. But I think the asking price on the prototype is a far far stretch.

How so? Just the word itself being...violent/disturbing?

I know how you feel, I love the figure and am glad I made the choice to get it. I figure it will only get harder to find overtime.

No no, I like keeping my figures MIB. For me, well its hard to explain, just my preference based on appearance/display I suppose. The packaging is awesome. I do plan on buying doubles of my favorite figs to open and set up some cool scenes but that is later on. -

Sorry about the glare, here is the deadpool I scored that some of you might've heard about in my new to legends topic. It's a figure I always wanted. The packaging is absolutely mint, no scuffs, no price stickers ect. I couldn't be happier. -
That is exactly how I am thinking of it. The 'center piece' if you will of the collection, the piece that really adds a certain level of interest to it. Plus like I said, it's a figure i've wanted since I first started collecting =] Now if I can get a good deal on Dragon Man... but my girlfriend might kill me.

Not at all, $96 shipped. Its a figure I've wanted since I collected MU. Totally excited for it to arrive.
-
Well I must admit it, I caved in and purchased a Toy Biz Deadpool. I can't wait for that bad boy to arrive, i'll post pics in the hauls thread when it arrives.

Thanks guys for the great advice/support. Instead of collecting to complete waves, my first intention, it makes sense to go after the figures I truly want and it really does personalize the collection. Back to ebay...
-
Thanks all for the support, I do plan on starting with the old Toy Biz as I feel they can only get rarer and rarer. I will hold off on deadpool and see if the value drops significantly with the new release, but I desperately would love to have an old one in the collection.

Hey all, I used to collect Marvel Universe figures. Marvel characters have always caught my interest for many reasons. The art work, the sculpting, the story behind the figures to name a few. Before going off to college I sold off my MU collection, it was a pretty complete collection including SDCC figs, and rares like Archangel. Now it seems Marvel is catching my interest more and more, specifically the Legends. I look forward to starting my collection and growing it with you all =] I guess my main question is, should I take the plunge back into collecting (it is something I enjoy, just need that final push) and what would you all say is an average range price on deadpool now?

3 3/4" sighting and hauls
SPCollector replied to thedevilsdue06's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Went to a comic shop in Daytona today. Grey Hulk, The Thing, DareDevil. All for ten bucks each. They also had Human Torch, Hand Ninja, Electro, and a few other tough to finds. Going to stop by for another haul this weekend. -

What a damn good haul today! So I stopped by TRU and they had a bunch of spideys and iron mans. But they also had Captain Britain, Multiple Man, Iron Patriot, Ghost Rider, Hulk, Wolverine, and Wrecker. I picked up Iron Patriot, Multiple Man, and Ghost Rider. He was the last one and another collector actually came in looking for him. Needless to say I wasn't giving him up. On the way back to college I figured I would just stop by Target, no expectations. I went in and boom there it was... ArchAngel. They also had Kitty Pryde and Havok! Not the varient but still a find. I picked up ArchAngel and Havok, left kitty cause not a big fan. What a day! -

Last two days picked up Sub Mariner, Juggernaut, Colossus and Issue six Secret Wars pack (Mr. Fantastic, Ultron). All at Target except Sub Mariner.
