1. The base is one of the original ML Hydra troopers- once the new one came out I didn't have much use for the old troop builders- so the two I had donated their bodies to Red Skull and the Baron. Red skull was just a head swap and he had his classic look back. Baron took a little more work... I first wanted to use the baron head from the older Toybiz ML figure but it was too small for the body- i also didn't want to just put it on a new Hydra trooper because I think the Baron should stand out from the troops with his own look... But since I really wasn;t fond of the olf Baron ML figure anyways- I made a quick modern version with the left over Red Skull body... Arnim Zola got a minor update as well- I removed the 'cartoon' face he had and replaced it with a photograph of an action figure so it would not look out of place with the rest of the toys. something bout having his face 'drawn' onto his screen just wasn't working for me. Anyways- there is my new, mostly custom Hydra forces
2. Penance Moonstone ...And the MAN himself- Norman Osborn with his #1 go-getter Victoria Hand But we already know this team isn't going to last forever- Luke Cage is standing by to get a new Thunderbolts team off the ground...
3. Without a doubt my favorite arc of Thunderbolts was the Caged Angels storyline. the marvel legends style SpiderMan line gave us a perfect 'MONSTROUS' Venom (all I had to do was pop his Scorpion tail off) and the Marvel Universe Bullseye V.2 was another pre-made perfect fit. That left me with just seven figures to build for a complete team- Caged Angels- Thunderbolts! Songbird RadioactiveMan Swordsman
4. thanks war! i sure wouldn't mind a Soviet super soldiers box-set from Hasbro. :)
5. The Soviet Super-Soldiers The Avengers The Uncanny X-Men (sorry- my brown suit Wolverine was occupied elsewhere and needed a quick substitute) The X-Men versus The Avengers
6. One of my favorite minis- back when Marvel could put a good Vs. story together without making it a year long event that involved every single title they publish. The Soviet Super-Soldiers: protectors of the Soviet peoples; allied with the Crimson Dynamo, agent of the K.G.B.; and consumed with the need for retribution against the man who might one day destroy the Motherland. Vanguard DarkStar The Gremlin (piloting a TitaniumMan armor Ursa Major
7. just some alternate versions of Ben Grimm and Scott Summers. Ben got a Future Foundation tank-top sculpted on. Scott got a quick unmasking in his X-factor by giving him G.I.Joe lifeline's head and sculpting a folded back hood on him. Scott's gal pal Madelyn Pryor is a Avengers Black Widow head on a G.i.joe Lady J body with a little bit of modding.
8. two easy customs I did here with some spare Marvel Madams figures. Domino is using the head from the original ML Domino (with the hair removed and re-applied- mine was a bit too far back giving her a VERY large forehead) That head was added to a Madame Masque body- the white torso of Madame Masque's costume was a good match for the white used on Domino's face. Added some black to her costume and some blue highlights and that's all she took. Sue Storm as Madame hydra was even easier- inspired by the always awesome jin saotome and his Abbey Chase/Domino custom- I tracked down my old Danger Girl figures and liberated the head of Natalia Kassle and modded it to fit the neck ball of a modern ML female body- done!
9. I didn't see that I had posted her anywhere yet- though she does show up in the Cloak and Dagger pics. Elektra is built from Classic Ms.Marvel legs, Mary Jane arms, and a Spider-Woman torso. The head is a MU Phoenix with hair from a G.I.Joe Baroness with some additional modding with greenstuff. Here she is doing battle with some evil Hand ninja (or G.I.Joe Retaliation Red Ninja if you're picky) :)
10. Hasbro is releasing their own this SDCC, but prior to that announcement I had built my own versions of the SHIELD agents and Nick Fury's go-to operator. The Movie verison of Maria is from a Avengers BlackWidow figure with a FantasticFour Sue Storm head with some sculpted hair. Comic Maria Hill is using a SpiderWoman body and a Future Foundations Sue Storm head again with sculpted hair and shoulder harness... Thanks for checking them out!
11. Dagger came from a Future Foundations Sue Storm with Ms.Marvel hair that i modified with a modeling compound to have it blown behind her instead of in-front. Cloak is non-posable and is made from a Mace Windu head and many many many various plastic cloaks and capes from all sorts of different figures (his base piece is made of the arms of a Harry Potter villain) I cut and stacked the pieces until it had a resemblance to the character- then glued and painted it. I hope you all enjoy. thank you. ...and at home in their display area with other Marvel street protectors!
12. hmmm. I sure don't know... maybe Hasbro just wanted to really show off his non-human look.
