what figures do you suggest using to make Barney Barton AKA Trickshot? I'm having trouble finding one with one covered arm..... also what to use for his "skirt"... and his mock turtleneck.... and head.... hrmm... I thought of using POC Duke but it feels kinda boring... and then the new greatest battles comic pack Daredevil for the body but... how do you swap out one arm without breaking it?

to all of you who use aves fixit sculpt to sculpt heads/hair, how do you keep it from sticking to your hands/gloves/tools? it cures well but I'm having a hard time sculpting with it due to the stickiness. Also wondering if there are any good tutorials online on sculpting hair?

I bought a SDCC Zarana figure and I want to use the head for a Songbird custom. I need to remove her makeup (eyeshadow and lip gloss). What is the best way to go about this? Does anyone know if Nail Polish Remover would work or would it turn the figure clear? It was an expensive purchase so I really wanna get it right.. image is from generalsjoes.com

thanks, mate. I put off doing Fixer for a while cuz I was terrified of sculpting his headset and had no idea what pieces to cobble together for his gloves and shoulder pads... then it all kinda fell together. I'm currently unsure how I will do Songbird and Mach V but maybe this is a sign that they will fall together too... ;) Ghost still ranks as the hardest and most rewarding custom I've attempted due to his odd helmet and skinny body.

but but but it looks right side up in the preview! grrrrr.....

Geez my photos always end up sideways... what am I doing wrong?

Really proud of this one.... Fixer from Thunderbolts (I am a thunderbolts fanatic) based off Kev Walker's character design. Next up is Boomerang (based on Declan Shalvey's design) and then Mach V and Songbird if someone ever casts the recent Zarana head... then I can tweak her hair to look like the electric bolt from recent issues. Also working on a Zemo in his black uniform from the current Captain America run.

For Scourge I used a Serpentor head from the 25th anniversary GI Joe line, and a Shadow Tracker mask from the Pursuit of Cobra Joe line. You can't see it, but I made the strap from just some spare plastic. If I had my druthers about me, I would have made it removable and given him the badass Nuke head, but I wasn't sure how to give him the android look so I copped out. One thing I have to do is repaint the black on the mask as it was more of a dark gray green in the comics. Ghost head is cobbled together from a half dozen helmets and heads. Moonstone is a Penelope Cruz head from Pirates of the Caribbean with Ms. Marvel hair. Thunderbolts is my favorite book too :) I am currently working on Paladin but having trouble with the head. Parts for Fixer and Mach V are being compiled. Fixer just will require a lot of sculpting which intimidates me but I know it will have a big payoff. Oh man, and then Ant-Man... And the current Thunderbolts Shocker.. Argh. So much to do...

I go about it a few different ways depending on my mood and whether it is a full moon or not. Sometimes I will use a push pin or super thin brush and just go for broke and outline an already painted white eye. Often though, I will just paint black over the entire eye and then add a slightly smaller oval of white on top of that to give the appearance of an outline. In Zemo's case, I painted a black eye, then a white eye on top, then touched it up with a pin or brush. That said, I am a really lazy and careless painter. I am sure there is a better way to go about this but I refuse to educate myself on the matter. Glad you enjoyed my work!

yeah... sorry everything is sideways.... Just tilt your head to the side and it looks perfect.
