  1. If you don't want those accessories, throw them away :P I'd be more than delighted to get a Modular Iron Man redo that allows you to emulate the suit's in-comic functions. The Marvel NOW! Iron Man was a disappointment accesories-wise since that suit is also meant to be a modular armor (well, that figure on its own was a big disappointment).
  2. The instagram OP says the head is from onesixthkit. You should definitely get this figure, it's the best comic Iron Man figure to date. It's got a great range of articulation, a highly-accurate sculpt, nice color palette, and the accesories are great. The Tony Stark headsculpt is even based on David Marquez' interpretation of the character from his Iron Man issues (Marquez being also who designed this armor to begin with). I'd say this figure is the gold standard for Marvel Legends Iron Man figures. You can even combine the headsculpt and the repulsor cannon accessory with another Iron Man figure (namely the Heroic Age Iron Man) to breathe new life into it and allow for new poses. You can also use the headsculpt on a suited body and get yourself a Tony Stark figure.
  3. Figuarts' Iron Man figures always make me bummed their line doesn't scale well with Marvel Legends. On a side note, holy cow, I'm surprised they still haven't gotten Cap's likeness right. It looks like an action figure for Cap's long-shot stunt double.
  4. Even though I hate the advanced tech suits, I'm getting that basic 6-inch Iron Man. I just find their simplicity somewhat endearing, plus they add to the "assorted Iron Man merchandise corner" in my desk. I think it's disappointing that they're just repackaging the War Machine figure from the previous line instead of making a figure for either of his two new suits, especially since the MK 6 is getting a Titan Hero figure. I'm also surprised there's no indication of basic figures for Iron Man, Thor and Hulk in their regular costumes, or a version of Black Widow at all. Considering the leaked Iron Man / Rescue 2-pack is nowhere to be seen here, I guess there'll be a third wave of figures to go with it. I also found interesting that wave that was announced without pictures. Captain America, Iron Spider, Black Panther, Ant-Man... and a Chitauri.
  5. No MCU Iron Man armor has really wooed me since the MK 43, so I'm happy the MK 85 put an end to that dry spell. This design pretty much fixes all the issues I had with the MK L. It adds more gold and splits the color palette into concise zones instead of having threads of gold sprinklered throughout a mostly-red surface. The plating of the suit retains an organic flow, but doesn't overdo it. I still wish they dropped that weird unibeam shape in favor for the timeless circle, though.
  6. Well, they were meant to be cannon fodder to just wreck havoc and wear Iron Man down until Whiplash arrived with his upgraded armor.
  7. I perceived the fight between the Iron Legion and the Extremis soldiers pretty even. The suits were even shown taking down more soldiers than soldiers taking out suits. They were nowhere near close the level of cardboard-ness of the Hammer Drones.
  8. I really want this figure. Iron Man baddie for an Iron Man fan (plus, modern look). 'Nuff said.
  9. I think there are two things to take into consideration regarding that last point; the first corresponds to the MK XLII and the other to the suits of the Iron Legion. The first one is the level of damage the MK XLII experienced compared to other suits in previous movies and how the suit itself fared. While the previous suits also didn't end their runs in a pristine condition (the MK VI becomes barely operational after the Helicarrier battle and Tony has to jumpstart it in order to get to Stark Tower and change to the MK VII, and the suit "limps" while flying), the MK XLII took most of the physical toll very early on into the movie. It got a missile detonate next to it, it got buried in the bottom of the ocean for several minutes while rubble was crushing it, it got water leak into it, it ran out of battery, and then it crash-landed in Tennessee. All of that, and the suit itself was already somewhat faulty because it was a prototype. The remaining suits of the Iron Legion are not made of cardboard either. They manage to fight and defeat the Extremis soldiers. However, the Extremis enhanciles are strong as hell, plus they have heat-based powers. They are basically human blowtorches, and just because a blowtorch can cut a piece of metal doesn't mean the metal is inherently "weak."
  10. This should've been the main poster. Much better composition, and it tells a story.
  11. The main building of the New Avengers Facility is the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, US. The rest is CGI'd up on the riverside of the Hudson on Esopus, New York (they used Esopus at least in Civil War, I'd expect them to keep using the scenary in further movies but the layout of the New Avengers Facility is very inconsistent so they might as well use different riversides in every movie as well).
  12. Also worth mentioning that it looks like the Iron Man helmet uses the bright candy red instead of the dark crimson from the upcoming MK L update. Oh, well.
  13. Not the Iron Man PS4 game I wanted, but... yay, for exposure... I guess?
  14. The 2008 line did include a version of Iron Monger with a Jeff Bridges head. It was meh in terms of quality but you can still tell it's supposed to be Jeff Bridges. I figure the contracts include terms about use of likeness that should allow Marvel Studios to use the actors' faces without much issue. I figure that's why we got stuff like the Hot Toys Whiplash with a Mickey Rourke likeness five years after Iron Man 2, with Rourke having left dissatisfied with the studio (or maybe he just greenlit the product for the extra cash that comes from using his likeness).
  15. If by "recent" you mean Bendis' other then-concurrent Iron Man issues. Because Slott's run is enjoyable. Infamous Iron Man was a fun read, but, honestly, the premise carried the book more than the execution.
  16. Well, not passing on the book and reading it is what gives you the insight as to why did he become Iron Man. :P
  17. I loved the concept of Infamous Iron Man and I really wish it continued into the Fantastic Four's return. Cool to see it comes with an unmasked Doom face. I just wish they'd put a bit more effort into the retooling. While the Model-Prime Armor is the base for Doom's suit, it included rivets and the Latverian emblem on the forehead. However, as far as Iron Man figures made from reused molds, I've seen much less comic-accurate results.
  18. My adult brain: Oh, wow, this might not be a full industry monopoly, but it's the next worst thing. No company should have this much power over such an important aspect of consumers' lives such as entertainment. My kiddie brain: X-Men and F4 in MCU! X-Men and F4 in MCU! X-Men and F4 in MCU! X-Men and F4 in MCU!
  19. Like watanabefan pointed out, all movies have a relatively big drop after the second weekend. And Captain Marvel's was 55%, which happens to be one of the smallest decreases of any MCU movie. I'm sorry but I can't take seriously somebody that claims Disney buys tickets for their own movie. That's next-level "shoving your head in the sand" tactics. Also, I happen to be an actual Marvel fan (whatever that's supposed to amount for) and I really liked the movie. It wasn't perfect, but it was a blast.
  20. It does make sense for it to be removable. Hasbro would only need to sculpt the helmet instead of retrofitting the existing headsculpt to include the helmet. But I won't hold my breath for that to be the case.
  21. I highly doubt it. Though it'll be a pleasant surprise if that's the case.
  22. I also wonder if you could use heat to detach the helmet from Thanos' head and, with maybe some extra work, turn it into a removable helmet to use with the heads of the previous Thanos figures.
  23. I wonder if you could mix and match with the previous MCU Thanos figure... Helmetless armored Thanos, Armguardless armored Thanos, and so on.
  24. No customization. It's the figure as it comes (I think it's at ~40% off at BBTS. I highly recommend it, but maybe that's because I'm an Iron Man fan, and the Pentagon Armor is one of my favorite looks of the character).
