  1. Yeah... I know that Hasbro is making up for lost time, and I'm sure I'd be delighted if I were an X-Men fan. Even though I wish Hasbro shifted the attention from the X-Men and Spider-Man, I know that it's selfish on my part to basically wish fans of these characters got less figures (especially the X-Men, not so much for Spider-Man). As for the families of which characters I wish Hasbro focused on? The members of the Avengers that can hold their own waves. Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor. I know that all of these characters individually have gotten plenty of figures over the years, but they're mostly MCU-inspired, and their supporting characters and villains are often neglected. While Thor got a wave in 2017 and Cap two in 2016, the last Iron Man-centric wave happened six years ago, and the last Hulk-centric wave eleven years ago. As an Iron Man fan, I often feel jealous of the amount of characters from Spider-Man's corner that Hasbro pumps out every year with every Spidey-centric wave. Sometimes it feels like they're about to scratch the bottom of the barrel. I'd love to see at least one wave focused on Iron Man once in a while, so Hasbro can get their hands on his supporting cast and villains. War Machine, Rescue, Ironheart, Mandarin, Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man, Controller, Spymaster, Whiplash and a big "etc" are figures waiting to get made. Iron Man himself is a near-infinite pool of equally important variants of the same character. In the case of Spider-Man, in order to get a version of the character in each wave, Hasbro has already resorted to flavor-of-the-month and obscure variants of Spider-Man. In general, I wish Hasbro focused on topical characters and modern versions of characters. Modern Loki, Pymtron, Extremis Iron Man, War of the Realms Thor, Modern Doctor Strange, Nadia Van Dyne and Robbie Reyes are some figures that come to mind.
  2. Weird that they're not in this gallery (and I only managed to get a good look at them in JayC's video), but I gotta commend again the Iron Man MK L / Iron Spider 2-pack. Finally they did these figures justice. I can only hope the Iron Man comes with plenty of accesories. He's already coming with the dual cannons, support blasters and a shield, but I'm really expecting him to come with the hand and armguard cannons, since those two seem to be the most iconic modifications for the suit, and they've been the base accessories for other MK L figures like the Hot Toys, S.H.Figuarts and Marvel Select figures. I feel like my biggest take-away from the MCU reveals are not the reveals themselves but the fact that Hasbro is opening up to the creation of figures of secondary characters and they're still revisiting older films like the first Cap movie, so I'm still holding out for a Marvel Legends of Whiplash, a revisited Iron Monger and pretty much any other supporting character and antagonist. I'm not a big X-Men fan so the only kind of comment I could make is that I wish they'd put some of that plastic to use in figures from other corners of the Marvel Universe. I hate to sound negative, but I do feel like Hasbro is neglecting other families of characters in favor of the X-Men, Spider-Man and the Avengers (though the latter is more like a catch-all umbrella). I should cap off with something more positive. Those figures of the Big Three look awesome and at the very least Iron Man and Cap are must-haves for me. Also, Infamous Iron Man!
  3. Scorpion hasn't been bonded to the Venom symbiote for nine whole years.
  4. I just found it funny that you pondered about what Scorpion might be wearing right now, and he happens to be back in the classic costume.
  5. You wanna know what does the Scorpion currently look like right now at this precise moment? Funny, isn't it?
  6. I doubt they went to court since Marvel Studios was allowed to use Wanda and Pietro, but they did make the dick move of shoving Quicksilver into _X-Men: Days of Future Past_ at the last second only so they would use the character first.
  7. Good to know that Hasbro is going to redeem their Iron Man MK L and Iron Spider with a 2-pack. I hope they not only include accessories (for Spider-Man, considering for Iron Man is confirmed), but also better metallic-like finishes.
  8. You don't need to go into yet another mindless "ugh PC ugh SWJ" rant. The MCU simply couldn't call them mutants because the term "mutant" is copyrighted by Marvel Entertainment, so when they licensed the cinematic rights of the X-Men to Fox (something that Fox will still hold until the merger comes through), that included the term "mutant."
  9. Can't say it's not hilarious that when Marvel decided to re-re-re-retcon Wanda and Pietro's parentage, pretty much every affiliate took the memo note, crumbed it, and threw it away.
  10. Good to see the hi-res images seem to confirm that Hasbro is also doing away with the Twhomp Cap headsculpt.
  11. Those figures of the Big Three will definitely be must-gets for me. A shiny classic Iron Man with improved mold (which I hope becomes a new base for future retro Iron Man armor releases), and a Captain America with scalemail. They have the potential to become the indispensable centerpiece for any Avengers display. I'm already content but I'm still hoping that the announcement shows the figures with plenty of accesories.
  12. Tenative new Captain America comic figure? I wouldn't mind if Hasbro took a crack at making a Cap figure with sculpted scalemail. It's about time Hasbro made a classic Captain America that could rival the Face-Off version sculpt-wise.
  13. I would expect Hasbro not to cheapen out by reusing a mold from an outdated look for a character considering that even though it's the basic line, each figure has had a unique movie-accurate mold. For instance, Hulk's figures from Infinity War and Endgame even have different heads and facial expressions. You sound bewildered almost if I expressed something actually inconceivable. To clarify, I'm not mad or anything like that. Just slightly baffled as why would they do that.
  14. So they're reusing the War Machine MK 4 mold from Infinity War that wasn't even movie-accurate? That's disappointing. Here's hoping it's not the only War Machine figure from this line.
  15. Genis-Vell is not a bad choice for a figure since is revelant to the Captain Marvel mythos. Grey Gargoyle is simply yet another B-list villain, which is nothing new. The MCU Thanos wave had King Cobra. The Ultron wave had Tiger Shark. The Hulkbuster wave had Blizzard and Titania. The Mantis wave had Ex Nihilo (not a villain, but still minor). The remaining figures being movie-relevant is more than fine. It's great to see a Marvel Legends wave with movie figures that includes more than just the protagonist. There are already plenty of MCU movies who only saw the bare minimum of characters released (the prime examples being both Ant-Man and Ant-Man of the Wasp only saw releases of their main characters, not even the antagonists got a figure). The Captain Marvel wave had figures for two supporting characters and one villain, which is okay. Even if Nick Fury is a civilian figure, he's still the most important supporting character. Probably the only figure that feels truly unnecessary is bomberjacket Captain Marvel. That's only one figure. And even then, it's a cute harmless variation of the character, with a Goose figurine.
  16. I saw ShartimusPrime use the Silvermane head on the 3-pack Ultron (that came with Hulk and Vision). The grey of Ultron's body matches perfectly with the grey of Silvermane's head, so it will look perfect as long as it doesn't bother you that he won't look exactly like his robot body looked in the comics. As for Madcap, while he did share a body with Deadpool for a good while, his consciousness only manifested as an additional inner voice. You can still put the headsculpt on a Marvel NOW! Deadpool body, but you're stuck to having a Madcap that only reflects a costume he used for a few issues when he was part of the Mercs for Money (plus his mask was red when he used that Deadpool costume).
  17. I'm a fan of topical figures, so my most wanted are basically: * Extremis Iron Man (redo) * Modern/Classic Captain America (with sculpted scalemail and a properly sculpted shield) * Modern Thor (a retool of the Marvel NOW! version) * Modern Loki (or Agent of Asgard Loki) * Modern Doctor Strange * Pymtron * And for the kicks, Marvel NOW! Iron Man (redo)
  18. Tokenism is the worst form of racism? I mean, until right now I used to think that stuff like actual harassment, lynching, slavery, racial segregation, or simply the overall institutional racism were some of the actual worst forms of racism, but you've opened my eyes. On a serious note, representation and inclusion is not tokenism.
  19. You mean the Stan Lee that co-created characters like the X-Men that mirror the struggles of minorities, or even Black Panther and the Falcon, the very first African and African-American superheroes in mainstream comics, respectivey? The same Stan Lee that Gene Colan recalled as "wanting to be at the forefront of things" with regards to topics such as the civil rights protests?
