  1. totally agree...patience is key. you'll eventually find almost everything you're looking for. you gotta be patient, motivated to hit up a few different stores every now and then, and a little lucky. Hunting is fun when you're first starting out. But once you only have a couple more things left to find, thats when trading/buying comes in handy. Because you're going to start coming up empty more often than not on your runs. And hit up the boards before you start buying from ebay...most people will likely sell you what you need for cost + shipping as long as you're not looking for something rediculous like a Mandaria\n.
  2. I never thought I'd see the day where so many Apocalypses are peg warming. I know Cable and Cyclops are awesome figures, but Apocalypse is an amazing figure. This was all completely due to Apoc being 2 per case and Cable/Cyke being 1 per case...as cool as Jim Lee Cyclops is, there's no reason why the 9th version of Scott Summers should be a HTF figure. I know everyone's predicting that Dr Strange's going to be the hard one to find, hopefully not. Hopefully the 2 per case will allow everyone a chance to grab the one's they want...we'll see. Strange and Doom...that's all I really want.
  3. "Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. I'll be right back. Don't you go dying on me! ..."
  4. Already?!? I was expecting this, just not so fast. I passed on these when they first came out...maybe they were watching me....
  5. HAHAHA...and what's with adding in Hobgoblin's glider? It's like the guy felt bad about doing to so he's like "I better throw in the accessories, too"
  6. Dude...I would LOVE to trade you for that extra Gambit!! Let me know what you're looking for...I'm starting to liquidate some of my figures that I know my son's gonna say "who the F is this?!" (paraphrased :) So I have a bunch of older wave stuff, all the W13 figures, and all the Cap W2 figures available if you need something out of that. (P.S. I'd have PM'd you but I'm on my phone internet which only let's me Quick Reply)
  7. Decent lunch hour haul from the Disney Store and TRU while looking for a Lizard or DP/TM Comic Pack: - Stretch Strike Venom (x2) - Cross Bones - Red Skull - Back Yard Brawl (Logan/Sabretooth) I got the 2nd Venom for Legend cuz he's been looking for it, but if he already has one its up for grabs. The Skull, Bones, and Brawl are extras for whoever's interested from the boards. Possibly my SS Venom too...I'm not entirely thrilled about the figure as of yet. It's nice and all but I've never been a fan of the slimey version of Venom. Maybe someone who has an extra Lizard or DP/TM is interested? *wink-wink*
  8. Finally found a Frost Giant / Loki!!!! Hooray for me...hooray for school!! (bad Billy Madison quote). The only thing is, I don't want the Frost Giant...I just want Loki to go with Thor and I'm having a tough time justifying paying $25 + tax for just Loki. The Giant is sweet, I'm just afraid he's a little too scary for my kid when he gets these figures. If anyone's interested in the Giant (in box w/ accessories), I'll sell it to them for exactly what I paid plus shipping, but instead of Loki, I'll include USAgent or Gladiator (or MU Winter Soldier, Wrecker, single card Thor...all my figs are MOC). Or if you just want the Giant and no extra Figure, I'll knock $8.65 off the price (cost of a retail single figure + tax). Sorry for posting this in the Hauls thread...
  9. where are you from? Almost every TRU that I've been to in the subruban chicago area has at least 10 of them all on clearance. I'm sure it has to be the same in other regions, no? They're usually in differents spots though...sometimes they're around the Glacutus's, some times they're over by the Spider-man line, sometimes they're over in the clearance asile by the cartooney ironman line.
  10. Most TRU's have an abundance of "Back Yard Brawl" Wolv/Sabretooth on clearance for like $12. Same Sabretooth (just a short hair version...and better IMO) and you get a civilian Logan, and a motorcycle for you to paint and throw Ghost Rider on top of...
  11. its so weird that some areas have a surplus of Lizard and Scorpions (like Cali and NY) and Chicago has nothing, nada, zip (...unless you wanna work 40 hours a week!!) **Lloyd Christmas I'm know its only a matter of time, but I feel like I'm missing out...same with DP/TM
  12. Where'd you get those Hulks...2003? jk Best Sabretooth around...90's cartoon style!
  13. Anyone else have a Bucky Cap that looks like his left knee is jacked up in the package? I haven't opened mine because I was planning to return the one I have if I find one with a straight knee, but I found another one today at TRU and this one had a jacked up knee too... ...is it just my imagination? Is this how all the Bucky Caps knees are and I'm just being crazy?
  14. Both X-Men First Class 2 packs have hit the suburban chicago-land area in abundance if anyone is spying in from the area :)
  15. Found 4 leftover Wolverine/Samurai packs at a local walmart...ZERO DP/Taskmaster...wtf...
  16. Why are there trickles of Wave 2 Cap at like random Walmarts...don't you think there would be a specific release date for these? Maybe they didn't have enough inventory to cover their orders so they're like...uh lets just give them Wave 2...
  17. Nice! Haven't seen a Mary Jane in a while...did Spiderman really have a lhasa apso in the comics?
  18. manilla? so...hasbro wanted to get a jump on the manilla market for the new MU 3 packs? Makes...sense...?
  19. Are all disney store items over priced? Or just the X-Men pack because it's a variant? (Obviously I don't make it out to the disney store too often)
  20. @ Dangerandthedingo...I know what you mean, but if you break it down it's not that bad. I posted this in some other thread a couple weeks ago: I really had to think long and hard about picking this up. I didn't get the storm/nightcrawler sw comic pack on purpose anticipating this coming out, but $35 is pretty steep and I already have a comprable colossus and two better cyclopses (W13 and XMO). I had to break it down: - I figure that Storm and Nightcrawler are better than their SW counterparts, so instead of the $15 that the comic pack is worth retail, I'd pay single character MU retail value on these two. Value: $16 (8+8) - The Wolverine is one of the best Wolverine versions available (as people are saying). The classic yellow costume has been done before, but this is absolutely an upgrade to those. I'd pay single character value on this because I don't have the Wolv/Hand pack or the XMO classic. Value: $8 - The Thunderbird character (although some say they can take him or leave him) was the clincher for me. He's only actual new character available and every pack i've seen has him painted very well (and I've seen a bunch of them). In a few months/years when these x-men packs are long gone, you may see him on ebay loose for like $30 (not now though obviously, so he gets single character value as of now). Value: $8 So those 4 are valued at $32 of the $35...so I'm basically paying $3 for some classic Colossus knee pads...oh well...no biggie
  21. I just picked up a couple extra Apocalypses from Target for trade. I usually leave stuff I already have for the next guy, but the area I found them is extreme scalper territory...not uncommon to find 2-3 people at every store you go into...and they're usually trying to smooth talk some lowely employee for information or to look in the back. So....I got some exta Apocs if anyone's interested. Still looking for a loose Loki from the GB pack (not interested in the Frost Giant), Crossbones, DP/Taskmaster pack, Lizard, etc etc etc :)
