  1. That looks good. Mine looks more like a cloud which is probably more accurate for Dust. I guess i could try lightning up the color a bit. I'm just not all that happy about the thing. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Mine just reminds me of peanut butter. I think there's plenty of shadows from how it was made. I added some sepia wash to add a lil pop to it but it still doesn't feel textured enough. I had thought maybe doing some scumbling with a sponge but not exactly sure what I should do as far as the color goes. I even thought about adding real sand but I'd have to buy it so that's out.
  3. @ psycho - it's a bummer that it's not more active. Customs are the most interesting topic to me on any of these forums. Really cool vision! It's hot hot hot! Finished a Dust custom last night. I think she turned out pretty well but not crazy over the paint apps on my sand stand.
  4. Same Feihong. At least they got it working like it should. I have the same problem and no good solution for ya. I usually dremel them down and while it doesn't look as good it works pretty well. The biggest problem I run into is the shoulder region and where the arm connects to the shoulder. I've learned thin paint is the way to go but still haven't mastered avoiding paint rub.
  5. What's this? A new home for the MU Custom's thread! Mary Jane, my most annoying custom to date! I spent hours and hours... and hours, trying to get her eyes to match. She may have had 30 botched left eyes before I got one to be close enough to move forward with the custom, frustrating. Close inspection she looks a lil' rough in the face but at arms length she looks really good. More pics on my fb page.
  6. Norrinrad - Not bad at all. Your eyes are a bit black and soulless but a pretty good job. Painting heads drives me nuts, I hate it. Fritzkrieg - super adaptoid looks fantastic I love it.
  7. I've started a facebook page for all my customs and am inviting anyone who liked my work to like it. www.facebook.com/marvel375
  8. Is the customs page all buggy for everyone in the sense that it's no longer pinned at the top, but now halfway down the page and sends you to page one when you click it?
  9. It's cool man. The shades help separate it from Maria Hill. I'm really hoping that one Hasbro announced is 3.75 afterall and not 6
  10. Ty! My Ghost Rider was just a Ghost Walker without it!
  11. I don't like the way the "flame" effect looks on the frame, it looks much better in person though. The alternative was to just have an orange frame which I felt like would just look like an orange motorcycle.
  12. I finally finished a custom I had been wanting to do for a long time. A flame motorcycle!! I overdid it quite a bit with the flames but I think it looks pretty cool just the same. Also the colors look a bit off in the picture but it's a nice shade of orange in person. I don't know where the bike comes from. I found it at a thrift store and it looked like it would make a good GR bike. Also I added more flame to his chain.
  13. Thanks psycho! Heroesrox - Prob depends on what you're doing. I started by making an outline. Think of the bird laying on it's back the entire process and after you've drawn the outline you just fill the body in by layering glue on top of it. I used a low temp gun, otherwise the glue can turn into a smooth puddle (which can happen with low temp too if it's been sitting) Low temp glue turns back to solid pretty quick and you can speed it up with cold water. You should be good to paint it immediately after it goes back to a solid. I've never heard about painted glue sticks. I just used clear paint.
  14. ty ty. I had no idea what I was doing with any of it but it seemed to work out alright.
  15. I wanted to update my Dark Phoenix since I hated the jean grey head. I dig this Black Widow head quite a bit. I think it's a big improvement and would also make a good Mary Jane Head. I also made an attempt at making a bird. I'm not completely satisfied but I think it turned out well enough.
  16. What was your recipe on strong guy? I was working on one at one point but was unhappy with the result so put him on the back burner.
  17. I think she's a cool figure but the head is not so great and the arm fiasco makes me very sad. Spiral is interesting, will be cool too see her finished.
  18. That reminds me that my Jubilee's arm broke like so many others. The girl just don't like to be touched there.
  19. Save the cheerleader, save the world! (Yes, it is kinda fuzzy.) Looks good, though! lol! I miss that show! Also My first thought was she looks like a cheerleader.
  20. Your pictures would turn Banner into Hulk! Looks like she turned out nice though.
