  1. I have the worst luck with yellow even over white paint it always looks blotchy. How'd you manage to get it so even looking? Do you thin it? what paint are ya using? Also that blue painted lizard looks pretty damn awesome.
  2. The Hasbro lower thigh sections taper at the top so that the top thigh section continues the taper up into the hip joint. The Onyx upper thigh extensions would have no choice but to *not* follow the Hasbro lower thigh taper in order to make the upper thigh extension longer and still have some semblance of normal physiology (e.g. not be shaped like a pear). tl:dr - I don't think what you are asking for is possible without a new lower thigh which would defeat the point of the product. Still a w.i.p. The first pic is the more recent. that does look better.. more seamless and not too snug looking at the top.

I don't agree the base could be shaved to match better. It might take a new sculpt to do it but I don't see how proper anatomy would force an extension to create a seam with the upper half being noticeably larger. On the right side of the picture especially. it's almost as if the two aren't exactly lined up properly like she-hulk's sculpt. it also looks more snug than the original at the top which is a paint rub concern for me.
  4. Thanks for the compliments Diabolical. The head on D-Man is actually a Serpentor head with sculpt. Wolverine looks too constipated for D-Man, as he was generall a smiley character. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, do you have any suggestions? if ya didn't like any of the wolverine heads and you're happy with the product then no i don't.
  5. @ Shayne The Doc Strange looks cool. bearded D-man looks cool. but that wolverine head is not great.
  6. You could modify the Movie beast Jacket And you think his waist is too small you could build up his obliques with some green stuff. you wouldn't have to build them up too much, even a milimeter at their peak would change the look. I took your suggestion and bought beast. I'm not in love with the jacket. It just doesn't fit how i'd like it to. It's a great jacket though and it's most likely the best one for the job, so I'm going to do my best to make it work.
  7. whoah, I had thought about doing something like this.. very cool good job with those
  8. I think white looks good too. He was drawn just like how you have it plenty of times. I swear man, that head is PERFECT. Looking at the original showdowns head and yours it's like twins but one developed Downs Syndrome. If you made it yourself you should cast it and sell the heads. I'd buy 2
  9. you saying she looks retarded or that her back probably hurts? I put the putty on her to make it look more like clothes to make it look less skin tight but now she just looks like she can float better. One day I may redo her to be less Fergalicious.
  10. That's spot on. was that an onyx head? i didn;t see it on his page.
  11. One of angel's arms looks off because long story short i had to recraft it. Also it looks like i need to cover the old bullseye a lil better. I got a pretty awesome head from Onyx to use for Angel but I think I'm to use it elsewhere.
  12. I've updated my original x-men team. Here's an old shot. and here it is updated. Honestly I like the old color scheme better but this one is more true to the 1st issue. I added putty so they didn't look like they were wearing skin tight spandex. This is a completely new custom. The original was very close to the other two guys in height and being the youngest I wanted to make him shorter. DC's Captain Atom was a great choice for it. For fun I wanted to sculpt the frosty look he sported and I want to make a swapable head for it I hated The hair I had sculpted so I took another stab at it and I think it turned out much better. I think her boobs got bigger, not sure if it was subconscious or not.. but they definitely pop Slim's hands are both in the fingerbang position. This was done since it would look more normal on cyke than a random custom.
  13. that's a nice looking jacket and a cheap figure on ebay. I think I'll give it a shot. also could give your oblique suggestion a try too.
  14. Cracked him open with a screwdriver, Eventually I'll superglue him back together and he'll be fit for display but he'll never be more than damaged goods.
  15. I don't think I'd want to make two guidos, not without an easier approach but I do like you suggestion. Clam, I get what you're saying and I've been on the fence about that for some time but in the end it came down to curiosity, lack of cable, a lack of patience and tiger shark got boiled and cracked. I knew I had done a bad thing but despite being cracked I don't think I can part him out.
  16. I was hoping the new 3-packs would have been out in time for the busiest shopping day of the year.. hopefully we'll see em soon since they are up for preorder
  17. yeah I agree it's the right choice. The only thing I don't like about it is it makes the waist look even smaller but I don't think I can do anything about it without fusing the waist. I'm also going to keep an eye out for a jacket in the 6 inch scale that might fit him. I don't think that belt will be accurate either but I'm not about to cover up such a good x-belt
  18. thanks guys, here's what my choices look like Steve Rogers is obviously too scrawny, but was thinking it could look good with bulked up upper thighs. I tried mixing different thighs with the lower legs but nothing matched up. I felt like the cable legs looked great but almost too proportional, but the more strong guy pictures i see the more I think they would be fine. Gladiators legs I felt worked ok Those pant legs look cool too Edit. after doing lots of picture browsing I'm leaning towards cable's legs. Doesn't look like he's drawn so out of proportion as he was in the 90's.
  19. Resculpted the torso and am satisfied with it. It's not perfect (the back and abs were done with a complete lack of enthusiasm) but overall it's pretty gnarly in hand and I'm proud of it. Debating which legs to use: Gladiator vs Steve Rogers and then look to go with. I'm leaning towards a more current look. I may have to edit the head but I think what I've come up with is more modern looking sculpt. At any rate he's going to be collecting dust until i decide to finish him.
  20. Thanks man, that's definitely true.. but after posting that I took another look at what I was doing and realized I was screwing up.. so i cut away the putty yet again and restarted and it, and am pretty happy with the result thus far. So I think I'll at least get it ready to paint before i take a break from it.
  21. I'm going to take a break from it for now. It's been more work than i expected... plus I added bulk to him and ended up not liking it as much and tore it off and started over and am a bit tired of it atm. I've been sanding the hulk arms to remove texture and that's been a pain in the ass, especially since it's a softer material. There may be a better arm choice out there. I also extended the torso width by putting the round disc part of the shoulder pegs on the outside of the torso sockets and encasing them in putty instead. It worked really well. Ya just have to lay him flat and position it so the arms don't move while the putty hardens. If that doesn't make sense, it's like planting a tree where the socket is the hole in thee ground the shoulder peg is the roots and ya just fill the hole in with putty.
  22. WIP. I think I might add some more bulk to him and try and blend the torso to shoulder a bit better but I think it's a pretty good start.
