  1. I think something you have to remeber is that there were some star systems that were perfectly fine with having the Empire run the show. When troops have no one to really fight for two decades except the occasional uprising here or a planet unwilling to do something troops get lazy. Training also has a lot to do with it. I'm sure Jango's clones were trained better than the volunteer troops that came later. After all there been a lot said lately about the fact that US troops aren't trained as long they were years ago.

  2. Over at Newsarama they've been doing interviews with different creators and their books post IC and I'm getting more excited about many of the OYL books. Looks like I'll be picking up just about every DC book that month just to try it out. Also with eth Kurt Busiek interview about him taking over Aquaman and there being a new Aquaman I'm gonna say the hero who doesn't know friend from foe is Aquaman. Now most powerful DC hero will either be E-2 Superman or Kyle (since he'll be becoming Ion again).

  3. Well I figured I'd support the comics if nothing else. So I picked up issue one this week and was surprised that I liked it. I haven't really had a chance to watch the show (I've caught two eps I think). I am somewhat surprised that they didn't kick this mini series off with the SE/SS issue, butI guess this Duke/Destro issue wasn't bad. I finally got to see the design for Destro and I like it. The issue was a quick read and got straight to the point. Destro is doing something for Cobra and Duke just happens to be near by to take care of it. A pretty simple plot. I liked the fact that we get to see "scuba" Duke since his figure just came out. I'm torn on whether I like the format. Instead of each issue focusing on the team it will focus a Joe agent and Cobra agent. If you haven't tried S6 yet, this might be what you need. You don't have to worry about (possible?) annoying voices and if you hate it, you only wasted $3.

  4. Well I got it and I'm not sure what to think. I like the story so far and the art is ok. I can't remember all of the Marvel series, so I'm not sure if a couple of things were already part of the mythos or if something was added. I know that Firefly and Zartan being there was part of the Marvel series, but was CC's hiring of them part of it orignally? If it was I'm not fond of the idea of him being behind everything. Is what SE did to him in issue two enough to warrant all the time and money put into the venture? I also think that SS decent is a little to much. I know Jealousy is a strong emotion, but you would think all the training SS had beforehand would have lessened it. I like the handling of SE in this issue though. But they sure have alot to do in issue five. They have to wrap up all the ninja stuff since it seems like issue six will be all joe team stuff.

  5. I said exclusive hits. MGS2 and GTA were/are both on Xbox and it's already been stated that RE5 will be on Xbox360. Now maybe you could count Kingdom Hearts or the FF series, but still there hasn't been a game that has done for the PS2 like Halo has for the Xbox. Just the amount of press that Halo gets is amazing and as I said the Xbox would be nowhere without Halo.

With that being said I'm a PS2 fan. I really haven't seen anything that warrented going and getting a 360, but I'll be there day one for the PS3.

  6. I'd have to say that two things have affected Claremonts comics lately. First they fact that in the 80's he was writing all the X-men comics (more or less). Until '91 it was eithe Claremont or Louise Simonson handled everything with Bob Harris editing. Claremont wrote Uncanny, New Mutants and Wolverine while Simonson wrote X-factor and took over New Mutants from Claremont. Then you have the fact that Claremonts best story arcs where when he had a really creative penciler who helped him find story idea's. Bryne, Smith, JRjr, Silverstri and Lee all helped out. If you look back at some of his "mis-steps" on Uncanny it was usually when he didn't have a good partners (or course I also think Harris and Simonson helped keep him on track editorally). Now they keep rotating pencillers in and out, it hard to find that creative spark.

  7. I think a lot of people are complaining because even if they have the warranty they can't get it replaced right now. One of my local gamestops has a backlist of 71 people and they are saying it will be March 2006 before they get those taken care of.

  8. Well when Peter wore it, he really didn't take it off. It would resemble anything he wanted. So if he wanted to be wearing street cloths the suit would take on that appearence. In the instances where he did take it physically off, it usually appeared just like regular cloths that were tossed on the floor or a chair.

  9. There are so many ways and so many different directions that they could take this that it will be hard not to make fans mad nomatter what happens. Somebody is always going to have wanted it differently. That why I think many fans had problems with the prequels. Some of us had 20+ years to imagine what happened and nothing could have equaled that.

  10. For the most part its there, you just have to look for it a lot harder. At DC it's easy, they like, play with it and generally use it to their advantage. At Marvel, with the policy of "lets throw it out there and see if it sticks", it doesn't work well. Like I said you have to look for the "big picture" a little harder. But it doesn't help when Marvel takes a familiar name (Drax, Warlock, Machine Man/Machine Teen) and completely rewrites everything that came before or wants us to forget much of that characters history (and DC has done this with Doom Patrol recently, but Marvel is doing it all the time). Or wants to rework a major character like Black Panther into someone new, just because a writer wants to do it. Right now I think the big difference between Marvel and DC is that DC puts the charcters first and then thinks about creators, whil Marvel lets the Creators do what they want and try to fix it later.

  11. So I've finally gotten around to watching the bonus disk that came with eps3 and was wondering if anyone knew if the two stories were shown or put out before? The were both copyrighted in 2004 and used footage from the regular and special editions, but none of the updates that were "added" to the DVD release of the OT last year. Were these the promotional videos that were played at Wlamart over the AV PA systems? Just wondering, thanks for any help.

  12. Well I think the mutants are scared and upset because one day they had powers and the next the didn't . You have to remember they have no clue why and the people that do know why aren't sharing that information. Imagine waking up one morning and not know how to read or write when you did the night before. It would change your life completely. As for the normal people being scared, it comes down to those several question words Who, how and why? Who did it, how did they doit, why did they do it, and what's next? If someone was powerful enough to disable a vast majority of the population, wouldn't you panic?

  13. But Wolvie already knew his past. That was the big thing from Morrison's run on New X-men. The folder that he read contained evrything he wanted to know about himself (which granted is a little bit different that "knowing" or "remembering" everything), So I don't see what the big deal is. Oh and the Prof is gone, again. Seems he's gone more than he's actually there.
