  1. Hit up a local TRU, found the majority of the Avengers stuff. Only thing that was missing was Ultimate Hawkeye, I think. I ended up snagging Ultimate Thor and the armored movie Cap. Have to say...super disappointed. I knew about the reduced articulation, but these guys are tiny. So very tiny. Captain America is easily shorter than any MU figure I own, about the same height as the repackaged X-Men Origins Wolverine X-Force team pack Wolverine figure. That was a mouthful... What's up with their movie figures, way too small. Looks like I'll be sticking to the MU line from now on, even though I've said that before.
  2. I demand gorgeous pecs and rippling abs! Ahem. Nothing to see here.
  3. I know everyone's not genetically gifted, or has access to an inhuman amount of steroids, but Momoa reminds me of one of those high school kids that played sports for four years, never had any extra bodyfat, and can do a week's worth of situps then BAM...abs. I'm a longtime gym rat, so Momoa's physique just doesn't impress me. Especially when compared to transformations like we've seen in Christian Bale and Ryan Reynolds. Not that those guys are huge, but they certainly bulked up and slapped on some appreciable muscle for their roles.
  4. Sweet likeness, you never fail to impress. Unfortunately, I think Jason Momoa made a terrible Conan. I know the number of actors built like classic Arnold aren't staggering, but man...at least get someone that looks like they didn't just hit the gym for a month and call it quits.
  5. Lakeside TRU had remnants of the latest wave of MU (Scarlet Spider, Falcon) along with Apocalypse, FA Wolverine, Cyclops and the standard peg warmers. Also had a ton of Sentinels and helmet-ed Thor, but no King Loki... If anyone's interested, they also had the new wave of G.I. Joe (Hazard Viper, Viper, Cobra Trooper, etc), some new Transformers (only thing I honed in on was the Masterpiece Rodimus) and it looks like the stocked out every last bit of Star Wars figures they had.
  6. I absolutely hate Fantomex and Deadpool's team uniforms, no idea why they deviated from the black and silver/grey. Regardless, you did a great job on the snarky faux-Frenchman. White is a hell of a time to paint and your application came out nicely. Well done!
  7. Not sure if anyone's looking for him, but I saw three Stretch Strike Venoms at the Disney Store over at Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights, Mi. Very small Marvel 3.75" selection over there, passed on Venom after seeing the almost metallic purple shading on him. That, and he was priced at $9.98
  8. I think I've read that Jin uses rare-earth magnets, and this place has a good selection; http://www.amazingmagnets.com/ edit: As a matter 'o' fact, he actually has a tutorial about it here.
  9. I really don't know what to call that type of style, maybe segmented? Anyhow, I'm looking for some input. Not sure if any of you guys have any experience with that particular design, but has anyone come up with a way other than sculpting them? I really don't want to have to sand down the arms and resculpt them with the segments, nor do I want to add any Aves ontop of the arms to bulk them up. Is there any method any of you have come across to cut the lines into a pair of relatively smooth bare arms in a way that doesn't look sloppy? The Winter Soldier figure coming out in the Captain America line is a perfect example, unfortunately I'd need both arms in that style. The upper arms on the IM2 Titanium Man are a bit too bulky for the character I have in mind as well.
  10. Ah, very nice! For having the nickname "slim," I thought the XMO:W figure was way too bulky...the little arms didn't help things much either. Awesome work!
  11. Oh, that's already just awesome. I'm probably in the minority here, but I never liked the original Death's Head character design. Now DH2? As a kid, how could I not think that melty robotic skull wasn't the coolest thing ever? Can't wait to see this finished!
  12. Man, that's just awful... ...ly awesome! cwutididthar? I slay me! Really, amazing work as always. I think I like the alternate head more, a little more intimidating, but its really a toss up since they both look great. The Keldor head is a nice touch, too.
  13. lakeside mall ? sterling heights ? yeah i seen them too You got it. Nice to see someone from the area. I guess Fairlane and Great Lakes has a TRU Express too, although I heard their stock is pretty thin since opening. Most of the good stuff already got snagged.
  14. Found but not bought, haha. Check your shopping malls for Toy 'r' Us Express stores. They've been springing up around the Metro Detroit area, not sure if its a country-wide thing though. They seem to have better stock than my actual TRU, oddly enough. Wandered in the other day and they had Iron Patriot (not the variant unfortunately), a couple Skrull soldiers, Iron Spider-Man, short hair Winter Soldier and one Mary Jane with some awful paint application around the eyes.
  15. Worlds better than what was actually released, and good job on making that Wolvie body not so short. I just can't place that cybernetic arm, where did it come from? Looks sweet!
  16. Looking good, but its no wonder why I can't find that "Toxic Blast" Venom anywhere; you've snagged them all! In all seriousness though, its already looking great. Headsculpt is spot on!
  17. Hmm, would have worked well as a Solar, Man of the Atom figure too. Very nice!
  18. Ah, I must have missed that. Congrats!
  19. So...any update on this one? I've been checking back and forth in hopes of some progress pics, Apocalypse has always been one of my favorite of Marvel's Big Bads and after seeing your Omega Red, I've been stoked for this one. You big tease, you.
  20. While it seems reasonable that Hasbro may put out a She-Hulk figure in the Marvel Universe line, I wanted to take a shot at making one. My sculpting skills are entry level at best, so I don't really want to take a shot and sand down and resculpt a figure just yet. At first I thought if Jakks would put out a female Build n' Brawl figure it would work perfect, that is until I stood a few of my BnB figures next to some MU and saw how short they were in comparison. Microman/lady figures would be fine if I could sculpt the detail. The MU Ms. Marvel mold is lacking in the necessary muscle department and I'd figure She-Hulk would need to be a little bigger than Danvers anyhow, and like I said, I doubt my ability to add height and muscle to the Ms. Marvel figure. So is there any decent MU-compatible figure out there that has a pretty generic/smooth base that could work for a modern costume She-Hulk?
  21. It has nothing to do with what I like. As a matter of fact, I "collect" both ML and MU. By that, I mean I buy what I like and don't scour the stores for every last figure of each wave. What I'm talking about is how often you see someone jumping down someone's throat because their tastes differ, and it generally comes down to childish insults and lumping every fan of one line into one big stereotyped category. Not just here, not just on TNI, but just about any toy forum. There's a fine line between being a collector and being an ***hole, and as a moderator, you should understand exactly what I'm talking about. Of course I'm going to comment, you don't seem to get my point. I'm not attacking you or anyone on these boards, even though that's what you seem to be getting out of here. There's something called commentary, that's what this is. Its just sad (ie: pathetic) that there needs to be constant bickering between fans of the same community. And as I recall, I ended my initial post on topic, you guys took it away But hey, you guys are going to make what you want out of this and vilify me, that's fine. I'm turning in my chips anyway.
  22. Ok,You really need to shut up with this crap. We get it,You don't like Legends anymore. Either post on the Marvel Universe board or don't post at all,Cause' you're really starting to piss me and I'm sure the same applies other members . Amen, sir. I knew we could agree on something. You can find your way to the little toys on the MU board. Right now the adults are speaking. And people wonder why they, as collectors, aren't taken seriously. Maybe it has something to do with the poor attitudes and constant sniping because Person A doesn't like what Person B does. Pathetic. So instead, the big Marvel Legends announcement you've all been pining for is finally made and yet...still complaints. Shocking. These comments don't really do anything to stop the sniping now,Do they? Or are you just all preach and no brains? Not much different from yours, now is it? Mine doesn't attack or attempt to demean someone for liking or supporting a different line than I do, its just a statement. The attitudes on several boards are just so childish and ridiculous, its almost like some people are actually trying to confirm every stereotype there's ever been about the collecting community.

Maybe it has something to do with the poor attitudes and constant sniping because Person A doesn't like what Person B does. Pathetic. On topic, like it was mentioned, Falcon works for Marvel. Marvel controls what is revealed by the companies they contract to produce their product. Jesse may be dying to keep the community updated with every last tidbit of information, but if Marvel gives the thumbs down, his hands are tied. Beyond that, how much product is Marvel/Hasbro expected to pump out? Focus is on the Marvel Universe line, trying to get interest in a new series. Clone Wars is still big, Wolverine Origins is a focus with the movie in theatres, soon G.I. Joe is going to be in the forefront followed by Iron Man 2, Captain America and then Thor. How many brands does Hasbro have on the shelf and in the pipeline? If they felt Marvel Legends wasn't profitable, of course its going to take a back seat for a while. The ML diehards around here need to realize just because it's your favorite line, it may not have been the biggest money maker for Hasbro. Larger figures, larger costs, larger price tag on the pegs...might not be the easiest sale for their target demographic; kids spending their parents' money. So instead, the big Marvel Legends announcement you've all been pining for is finally made and yet...still complaints. Shocking.
  24. That's assuming the winning bidder is legit and didn't put in a bogus bid. Yeah, most of Jin's ML customs do go for $100+ but I've never seen one sell that high.
  25. YES! OH GOD YES! That's an optimistic way of looking at this, anyhow. The realist in me understands I'll be broke come Spring '09. Whatever, I've been waiting 20-some odd years for 1:18 Marvel figures (we'll ignore the Superhero Showdown catastrophe) ever since picking up my first G.I. Joe and holding it next to my Secret War figures. My time is now! Or well, in nine months at least.
