  1. Eric Killmonger? KILLMONGER!?! At once the stupidest, and yet coolest, villain name I've ever heard (Killmonger).

Jessica Jones begs to differ... "Kilgrave? Was Murdercorpse already taken?"

As far as the wave is concerned I agree with the general sentiment of 'meh'. I never read the Black Panther comics but I would think there must be someone who has visited Wakanda who would qualify as a real BAF - not someone who could easily have been the 7th retail figure in the wave.

  2.

    Kilionnorcal thanks man

I got my brother deception Mark to blame for this lol

You won't regret getting into the line, best all around line at the price point on the market today imo.

I agree 100%, but you wouldn't know it by all the incessant complaining by collectors that goes on.
Not a Hasbro shill but For $20 we get a lot. People expect $50+ quality in these figures.

Yeah. I started out collecting MU but moved to ML and eventually sold all my MU stuff. The original MU figures looked great in package, but once I opened them it made me sad that so many of them looked like they had polio with wonky legs and knee joints. Occasionally you get some bad paint ops with ML just like any line, but the figures themselves are quality items and the BAFs are addicting!

And in actual "Sightings & Hauls" news, I found a few more Human Torches at another NYC-UWS Duane Reade, so if any locals missed the online sale check your friendly neighborhood DRs this week.

  3. Which Duane Reade in Manhattan?!

Columbus between 89th & 90th. They've had the same dozen Namors for months, which replaced a dozen Daredevils they had for months. Today they had the one Human Torch, a bunch of the Namors, and a couple of the Sandman Wave they've had for a few weeks. One of the other DRs in the area has a big gap where a dozen Civil War figures used to be so either they may be getting them in the next day or two, or they already got them and someone grabbed them all. The rest of the DRs in the area haven't had a new figure since I restarted collecting in March :-(

  4. Yup, didn't even have time to get it thru checkout after I got it in my basket.

Did anyone get one or did scalper bots take em all?

Yep. They went live exactly at 10:00 AM EST, I got my order in with a credit card at 10:05 AM (after the site errored out on Paypal for me), and they went out of stock at 10:10 AM. Star Wars Captain Rex was up until 10:45 AM, and I realized after I placed my order that the IDW set was up as well, but while I was looking for the right thread here to post about the IDW set it went out of stock.

  5.

Entire wave of Marvel Thor Legends Hulk BAF in stock at HTS.com. Be sure to use the 20% off coupon from email.

There's only one Thor Wave. Also HTS.com isn't a store website . As far as I can tell they sell building materials. Please don't take drugs and post.

This fine upstanding member of our community posted a heads-up that every individual figure from the Thor wave (aka the "entire wave") was available at hasbrotoyshop.com (aka HTS.com). Capisce paisan?

  6. Everything about Black Panther so far looks to be pretty yawn worthy & nothing coming outta the Cap Marvel camp thus far is looking too promising.

Actually I really like the way the Black Panther costumes look - I think they struck the right balance of comic-booky and something someone might actually wear. I mean, you didn't really expect Man-Ape to be running around in a big white gorilla suit did you?! 😂 That said I'm hoping Klaw gets to wear something a little more like his comic counterpart and we just haven't seen pics yet.

Oh, and MCU Thanos? I agree with the 'meh'.

  7. Stopped by the TRU that opened in Times Square today around 90 minutes after they opened this morning. They had a pretty good selection of ML. Had a case or two of GotG2, Netflix, and a bunch of the Thor wave with plenty of everyone except Hela (I assume the crew I used to see waiting outside the old one grabbed them all as soon as they opened). They also had a bunch of Starlord/Ego and Groot, but no sign of Cyclops/Phoenix or Spidey/Mary-Jane.

  8. Ya, I've found that as long as you manage to get it in your cart & not accidentally log out they reserve the product for a short amount of time to allow you to shop. They want you to order as much crap as you can.

Hmmm... I've never found this to be the case so I don't know if I'd chance it. The SW items aren't available on HTS tomorrow so I don't know if that's good or bad for the Thor set - on one hand there will be fewer people flooding the site, but on the other hand there are probably a lot of people who would have checked out with the SW stuff first and then tried ML in a second order, so who knows.

In recent years they've mostly gone up between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST, so I'll be in a river in the Adirondacks when the insanity is happening. Hoping for a shot at a restock whenever that happens...

  9. Do you know at what time they should be going up on the 14th??

At what time were they up?

I think the Asgard set was in stock from around 4:15 AM EST to 8:15 AM EST, not sure about the 12" Daredevil. Restocks for non-SDCC merchandise at HTS usually happen around that time, but the initial release of SDCC items usually happens during business hours. In recent years on the "official" SDCC release day they've gone up between 10:00 AM & 12:00 PM EST, but they also went up as late as 3:30 PM EST back in 2013 (IIRC).

  10.

It looks like some people were able to get it, and hasbro is shipping them out since it was their mistake. On thefwoosh I think around 25-30 were able to place orders.

I'm usually up and check the website around that time, but figures the one day I sleep a bit longer something like this happens

Ugh... Thanks for the confirmation. I can't believe I didn't hear my alert and missed it. (Not to mention I can't believe HTS f'd this up and released it before the date they communicated.) I'll be on vacation with crap internet connectivity on the 14th, so I was hoping to pick it up on a restock, but now that the 14th will likely BE the restock I'm thinking I can pretty much kiss it goodbye unless I pick it up off eBay.

And just to add insult to injury, I missed the 20 minutes the Thor wave was up today as it went up while I was at work. At least I got the Man-Thing wave delivered today from my 20% off HTS order on Tuesday...

  11. I have a monitor on my computer watching the page at HTS and I heard it go off this morning. I checked my phone and the page had an add to cart button, but it also said out of stock and insufficient inventory when I tried to add it. However, when I checked the monitor on my computer, it looks like I missed an alarm overnight where it flipped to "in stock" for a couple of hours. Was it actually available and was anyone able to order it?????

  12. Man-Thing Wave now in stock at HTS:

    Electra: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/en/htsusa/brands/brands-M-Z/marvel-htsus-brands-marvel/-c1781as00

    Jessica Jones: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/en/htsusa/brands/brands-M-Z/marvel-htsus-brands-marvel/-c1782as00

    Daredevil: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/en/htsusa/brands/brands-M-Z/marvel-htsus-brands-marvel/-c1779as00

    Bullseye: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/en/htsusa/brands/brands-M-Z/marvel-htsus-brands-marvel/-c1784as00

    Punisher: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/en/htsusa/brands/brands-M-Z/marvel-htsus-brands-marvel/-c1780as00

    Blade: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/en/htsusa/brands/brands-M-Z/marvel-htsus-brands-marvel/-c1783as00

Now if they'd just put up the Ragnarok wave I'll be all caught up!

Mangar, pretty sure Star-Lord/Ego was a TIMED EE exclusive, like the X-Men Warlock wave first released at Target before other chains. I saw 3 units of the 2pack at a Toys R Us express in Manhattan this past Saturday. So I think they'll be everywhere.

    Ah, makes sense - thanks!

  13. There's a rumor that the date may get pushed back to September. I guess specifically for Star Wars exclusives it was mentioned at SDCC

It was confirmed by Hasbro PR to the SW sites that the Star Wars items would not be available until September (and the product pages were pulled from HTS), but I don't think I've seen anything about any of the other exclusives - those still seem to be on track for 8/14.

From one of those SW sites that I believe I'm forbidden from linking to:

“Hope you’re having a great weekend! We wanted to reach out to clarify that the availability date for the Hasbro Star Wars SDCC exclusives on Hasbro Toy Shop has changed to September.”

  14. I am honestly surprised and a little bit disappointed with how dead this forum is sometimes considering the popularity of these figures. There is probably no more than 10 actual consistently active members. SDCC is the years biggest fig reveal and you can hear a pin drop.

Over on the Wfigs WWE forum, the SDCC page is well over 200 posts, granted mostly crying and whining, but at least there's passion. Step it up my fellow Marvel lovers!

I usually only post sightings and hauls, but darned if this wasn't a great showing!

    • Medusa & Black Bolt: Not a fan of the screaming expression on BB but I sold my SDCC Galactus Engine box set when I temporarily got out of collecting ML in 2015 (which I regret!) so I'm excited to get a second chance at these. Maybe Hasbro will pack in a normal closed mouth head as well.
    • Defenders Box Set: Yes! All look good, and I'm especially excited for another shot at Luke cage as I never got the Thunderbolts set.
    • Hydra Soldiers: I sold the Mandroid wave in 2015 along with my two Hydra soldiers so I'm glad to get Hydra forces again.
    • Lizard: Looks awesome!
    • Mysterio: Another figure I really wanted!
    • Deathlock: Another great looking figure!
    • Namor: The Namor I grew up with didn't live in WIlliamsburg Brooklyn or Seattle, so I may have to buy one of the two dozen Namors sitting in the multiple Walgreens near me to swap out the bearded head for the classic version.
    • Mr Fantastic: Was worried the stretch effects would look silly, but they look Fantastic! (sorry)
    • X-23 & Apocalypse: Not liking X-23 as much as I want to, but Apocalypse has me super X-cited for the wave! (sorry again)

And although I gave up keeping stuff MOC/MISB a long time ago, I may get the vintage figures if I can find proper cases for them. I have my Star Wars vintage 6" figures still packed in the case waiting to find good clam shells.

All in all I'm more excited about these reveals than I remember the last few years. Can't wait to see what BAFs we'll get besides Lizard and Apocalypse...
