  1. Also, what did everyone think of this story? I was bummed how they left any big revelation to #51. I wonder if they are going to make out that Sabertooth is Wolverines Son, like in Ultimates, and that was what the whole thing about Wolverine remembering being torn apart by the Hulk was all about. To show the corellations between the two. Or is it going to turn out that Sabertooth is a reincarnated Wolverine? One who remebers Wolverines life? It seems to me that in one of the Maduriera Uncanny X-men comics I have read, Gambit lays out Sabertooth's past pretty well, so it seems unlikely that he is Wolverine from a different timeline or something. What do you think?

Heck, they might not really reveal anything until part 3 in issue #52.

I don't think they will make Sabretooth one of Wolverine's sons. I think he will be Wolverine's half-nephew, the son of Dog Logan, Wolverine's half-brother. Creed would be the last name of his mother. Sabes remembers his father physically abusing him, and that seems like something Dog would do. To make his pappy proud, and to finish what Dog started, Sabes takes up the feud with Wolverine. But, I'm just speculating, and really hoping.

As long as they don't make Sabretooth Wolverine's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate, I'll be fine with what they go with.

Well, I'm really afraid that they will make the whole Sabes and Wolvy being members of rival Lupine Clans, from Earth X, official. Sabes being a member of the Bear Clan, and Wolvy being a part of the Moon Clan. I wouldn't be happy with that, either.

  2. Ah, okay. My bad. The reason why I think ppl think Captain America is becoming liberal is because he oppose the government's decision about the superhero registeration act, which according to the 70's, a lot of hippes were against the Vietnam war.

I think Capt is moderate or his beliefs is that of the our forefathers. It is possible it depends on whoever is writting the comic

Thanks. A good direct response. IMO, I've seen him more down the middle, myself. He started out more conservative during WWII, and has moved towards the middle, since.

I didn't know if the news report was right about Tony Stark being a lefty, because of what I've read about him being a righty.

I still don't know if Tony and Steve were best friends because they shared the same political views, or if it was because of their differences kept each other grounded. You know, the whole "opposites attract and complete each other" thing. Not that they're a couple, or anything.

  3. I don't know where you get liberals being evil since the only differences between liberals and conversatives in my opinion is that democrats would help the poor while the republicans would help the rich. There are some democrats who are anti gay, anti immigration, and pro life.

I didn't say libs are evil. They're just on the left because their not right. LOL. I know there are liberal, moderates, and conservatives in all political parties. I never meant to imply that all Dems are libs, and all Reps are conservatives.

I read somewhere that Marvel was making Captain America liber, but I just can't think of any specific instances, from the comics, that Captain America does or says something that is a strictly liberal ideal.

  4. Cap's big thing is that he fights for freedom in all ways and forms, for all American people. That's about as Liberal as you can get, IMHO...

That sounds more like a liberator, or any true American should feel, whether they be liberal, moderate, or conservative. That ideal is strictly a liberal principle.

    LIBERAL

3 obsolete : lacking moral restraint : LICENTIOUS

    4 : not literal or strict : LOOSE <a liberal translation>

5 : BROAD-MINDED; especially : not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or traditional forms

6 a : of, favoring, or based upon the principles of liberalism b capitalized : of or constituting a political party advocating or associated with the principles of political liberalism; especially : of or constituting a political party in the United Kingdom associated with ideals of individual especially economic freedom, greater individual participation in government, and constitutional, political, and administrative reforms designed to secure these objectives.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    LIBERALISM

1 : the quality or state of being liberal

2 b : a theory in economics emphasizing individual freedom from restraint and usually based on free competition, the self-regulating market, and the gold standard c : a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties d capitalized : the principles and policies of a Liberal party

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    CONSERVATIVE

    1 : PRESERVATIVE

2 a : of or relating to a philosophy of conservatism

3 a : tending or disposed to maintain existing views, conditions, or institutions : TRADITIONAL

Hmm, m-w.com's definitions of "liberal/liberalism" seems pretty harsh.

The only difference in the liberal's and conservative's quest for freedom is the conservative's don't want to take some rights away from one group of people so that others can have rights. There has to be a way for everyone to have the rights they want without robbing someone else of some of theirs. Call me a dreamer, but that's how I feel.

Caps actions of trying to preserve the superhero tradition to keep their identity secret sounds pretty conservative, IMHO.

Does anyone have any specific instances, from the comics, that Captain America, and/or Iron Man does or says something that is a strictly liberal ideal? Like:

    Bigger government,

    Higher taxes,

Wants to reward illegal immigrants, who broke our laws to get into our country, by giving them amnesty,

    Has no morals against abortion,

    Wants to legalize gay marriages,

Wants to rid our country of all traces of the Judaeo-Christian morals/ethics/principles that this country was founded on,

    Etc., etc., etc.?

  5. Stark is a corporate shill and no democrat with any hopes of getting elected or reelected would spear head something like the registration act.

I would really consider Cap to be more of a moderate. You could call him a Republican, but he would be an Eisenhower Republican.

Aren't the Superhero/Mutant Registration Acts more like gun registration acts, which, are usually headed by liberal Democrats?

Yeah, I would agree that if Cap is any sort of Republican, he's an Eisenhower Republican.

  6. In Fantastic Four #542 Reed Richards, himself, scientifically/mathematically proves that he and Tony Stark ARE evil. They're the lesser of 31 evils, but EVIL, none the less.

In Thunderbolts #1 a news reporter states the following:

Make no mistake, Tony Stark is a lefty in hawk's clothing. S.H.I.E.L.D. is the most important security agency in the world, and it's being co-opted by a man who has not only lied repeatedly to the American People about his actions--

--but who also has donated honest money from military contracts to the Democratic Party--

By breaking down the statement, we see the reporter is saying Tony Stark might put up a conservative front (hawk's clothing), but underneath he's a liberal by co-opting S.H.I.E.L.D., repeatedly lieing to the American People about his actions, and donating honestly earned military contract money to the Democratic Party.

Now, I had always thought Cap was right down the middle, but, from this, can we derive that Captain America is a conservative Republican? Knowing that Iron Man (Tony Stark) and Captain America are now on opposite ends of the spectrum, if Iron Man is a liberal Democrat, then is Captain America a conservative Republican?

I know Iron Man and Captain America have been the best of friends for many years, but has Tony been two-facing Cap all this time? Has Tony been making Cap think what he wanted him to think? Do you think Captain America truly knows what Tony Stark does behind closed business doors?

I wouldn't think so. He only sees the front that Tony puts up.

Once Tony showed his true colors by supporting the Registration Act, Cap jumped ship and declared war against it and Tony.

Yes, it's still speculation, because it's documentation on Iron Man's political stances, and not Caps, but it is sound logic.

What do you think? How does this make you feel? DEBATE !!!

  7. Has anyone been reading "Agents of ATLAS"? Great book.

Anyways, at the end of each book, instead of letters from the fans, they have epilogues that relate to the story. Well, the epilogue for issue #5 was awesome and hilarious. In it, they did a parody of one of my favorite radio talk show, COAST TO COAST AM; With George Noory. They're version was called SHORE TO SHORE; your host Webb Terry: The Radio Call-In Show of the Unexplained.

What a great homage to such an informative and inspiring radio show.

Does anyone listen to Art, George, and Ian?

  8. WHAT IF... Wolverine, before he got his adamantium laced skeleton, was cut in half, right up the middle?

Pretend Wolverine was fighting Dog, in Canada, and Dog tied, or pinned James to large log in a sawmill. A conveyor belt moves the log to a giant saw, which, cuts James from crotch to cranium. If the left and right sided do not come back into contact with each other, would each half grow a new opposite half?

The left side grows a new right side. However, the new right side does not recall any information that was stored in the original right side.

The right side grows a new left side. However, the new left side does not recall any information that was stored in the original left side.

Perhaps this could be part of the explanation why Wolverine can't recall all of his past.

What if this happened more than once?

Perhaps that would be why Wolverine can be in so many different places, in so many different titles, at once, and that's why none of the Wolverine's can remember everything from his past.

WHAT IF... Vulcan, Petra, Darwin, and Sway succeeded in rescuing the original X-Men from Krakoa? However, Cyclops was killed. Would a relationship blossom between Vulcan and Jean Grey? Does it seem like their powes complement each other?

  9. Setting up a petition against this is like trying to petition against cumulus clouds in favour of cirro-stratus clouds--in other words, its pretty pointless.

Dude, haven't you ever heard of HAARP? The U.S. Government can control the weather. So, get those petitions to turn cumulus clouds into cirro-stratus clouds going.

  10. When reading, in your head, whose voices do you project saying the dialogue for the characters? (If anyone does not understand what I'm asking, please, say so, and I will try to clarify my question.)

    Pryde of the X-men `89

    X-Men `92-`97 animated series voices

X-men: Evolution 2000-`03 animated series voices

    X-men motion picture trilogy voices

    Mix from all sources

    I project the following voices:

Wolverine - back and forth between the X-Men `92-`97 animated series voice & X-men: Evolution 2000-`03 animated series voice

    Beast - X-Men `92-`97 animated series voice

  11. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale will be starring, together, in "The Prestige".

    Summary:

From acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan, comes a mysterious story of two magicians whose intense rivalry leads them on a life-long battle for supremacy full of obsession, deceit and jealousy with dangerous and deadly consequences. From the time that they first met as young magicians on the rise, Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) were competitors. However, their friendly competition evolves into a bitter rivalry making them fierce enemies-for-life and consequently jeopardizing the lives of everyone around them. Full of twists and turns, THE PRESTIGE is set against the backdrop of turn-of-the-century London, the exceptional cast includes two-time Oscar® winner Michael Caine (Alfred's even in it), Scarlett Johansson, Piper Perabo and David Bowie.

Now, in honor of Wolverine and Batman starring in a movie together, I propose to you:

    "DARK CLAW !!!: The Movie"

Dark Claw/Logan Wayne is an amalgamation of Wolverine (Marvel) and Batman (DC), and was printed by Amalgam Comics.

That would make for a pretty good movie.

Sparrow, an amalgamation of Jubilee (Marvel) and Robin (DC), is his sidekick.

Hyena) was his archenemy and he was an amalgamation of Sabretooth (Marvel) and the Joker (DC).

Who'd like to see a movie of this Amalgam Comic?

Who would you like to see play the role?

Is there an actor out there that looks like a cross between Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale?

    Maybe, James Purefoy?

James Purefoy starred in "George and the Dragon" (a.k.a. "Dragon Sword") with Piper Perabo, and she is starring in "The Prestige" with Christian and Hugh.

  12. I hope it's Wiccan/Asgardian, or the Hulkling, that got killed.

However, if it's Hercules that got killed then that would open up a great war of the pantheons between the Norse gods and the Olympian gods.

Not that I care. I've never really cared for the deity characters in the Marvel, or DC universes.

  13. I am wondering if the "Graphic Novel" really is a gn or a comic book.

Anybody know how many pages it is?

I know WM will price match the lowest price in town, but the comics may be worth the extra (I'm sure they will be 19.96 no matter how much the actual movies are.)

I'd buy the Wal-Mart versions with the graphic novels, but only if they're the entire movie adaptation instead of a single first issue.

I bought just Ep. IV: A New Hope, and it comes with a full sized graphic novel. I was totally surprised. I thought it would be a small single comic the same size as the DVD case. Like, the comics that came with the Ultimate Avenger's I & II animated movies. It's Dark Horses reprint of Marvel's complete adaptation of A New Hope. It's got Jabba the Hutt as some brown bi-ped alien. The price was 19.96. I don't have the receipt on me, so I might be off by a couple of cents.

Sorry to hear that these will be direct transfers from the laserdiscs. I also feel bad for the people who bought the first wave of the DVDs, the boxed set trilogy! Anyhow, I'm looking forward to this week's release! Can't wait!!!

I'm sorry, and not sorry, that I bought the first wave of DVD's in the boxed set trilogy. Mainly, though, because the widescreen OT has silver trim on the front, and silver colored font on the spine of each DVD case. The PT has gold trim on the front, and gold colored font on the spines. Now, the new DVD case's for the widescreen have the gold trim on the front and gold colored font on the spines. I can finally have the entire color coordinated.

The full screen first wave OT boxed set had the gold, but you don't want full screen movies mixed with your wide screens, just so the colors match. The PT's individual DVD cases had blue trim and blue colored font on the spine, as does the new individual DVD releases of the OT.

  14. Because Hasbro didn't designate any of the STAR WARS TRANSFORMERS as any particular character from the TRANSFORMERS Universe - plus, with the news from the SDCC that we will be getting a Darth Vader/Eta-2 Sith Starfighter & Clone Trooper/ARC-170 Starfighter (repaint) - which TRANSFORMERS characters do you assign to which STAR WARS TRANSFORMERS?

    Mine:

Anakin Skywalker/Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter = Optimus Prime

    Obi-Wan Kenobi/Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter = Ultra Magnus

    Darth Vader/Eta-2 Sith Starfighter = Scourge/Nemesis Prime/Black Convoy

    Darth Vader/TIE-Advanced x1 Starfighter = Megatron

    Emperor Palpatine/Imperial Shuttle = Galvatron

    Darth Maul/Sith Infiltrator = Cyclonus

    Jango Fett/Slave I = Soundwave

    Boba Fett/Slave I = Shockwave

    Luke Skywalker/X-Wing Starfighter = Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime

Han Solo/half of the Millenium Falcon = Wheeljack

Chewbacca/half of the Millenium Falcon = Grimlock

General Grievous/Tsmeu-6 personal Wheel Bike = Ravage

    Clone Trooper/ARC-170 Starfighter = Starscream

Clone Trooper/ARC-170 Starfighter (repaint) = Skywarp

(I'm pretending that Megatron and Galvatron are two different individuals. I really like the idea of Darth Vader/TIE-Advanced x1 Starfighter as Megatron, but the only person that could rank over him is himself, from the future. Thus, Emperor Palpatine/Imperial Shuttle is Galvatron.

Darth Vader/Eta-2 Sith Starfighter as Scourge/Nemesis Prime/Black Convoy follows the RiD story. Darth Vader/TIE-Advanced x1 Starfighter/Megatron targets Optimus Prime, in his alt Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter mode, to scan as the alternate mode for a protoform. Then, Megatron infuses his spark energy to Optimuses scan and the protoform, giving birth to Scourge. Emerging from his pod, as a dark amalgamation of Optimus Prime and Megatron, Scourge attests that Megatron's programming had over-ridden any Autobot goodness within him.)

    Who are yours?

  15. pics of the tf one?.. That could be interesting...

I really like the Eta-2 Jedi/Sith Starfighter. It's my third favorite:

    4. Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator

    3. Eta-2 Jedi/Sith Starfighter

    2. TIE Interceptor

    1. Darth Vader's TIE-Advanced x1 Starfighter

  17. I wonder if they're going to use a mass-produced car for the new KITT? Or will it be some concept/made-for-movie car?

Well, with the likely rebirth of the Chevy Camaro, Pontiac will probably try to resurrect it's brother, the Firebird. The movie could be used as a commercial for it's return.

  18. at least we have atlantis!

    Really bummed about stargate though!!

anyone know how many more episodes of stargate are left if any ? :(

Well, in the link above, http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?c...=2&id=37607, the Sci-Fi channel said, "Ten seasons and 215 episodes is an astounding, Guinness World Record-setting accomplishment." So, we know that there are 15 more eps are coming.

Season 10, ep. 8; Counterstrike 9 (201st ep.) & Season 10, ep. 9. Memento Mori (202nd ep.), are listed at:

    http://www.sg1archive.com/s10.shtml

  19. And why?

If you missed the show, CLICK HERE to find out who got eliminated for week 3.

I know it's a little late, but is there not a way that the polls can be set up where ppl can pick two choices, since, two superhero wannabes are eliminated each week?

I can't believe that Monkey Woman was eliminated before Creature and Fat Momma.

Lemuria and Cell Phone Girl are the only two of the female hero wannabes, IMO, who was Superheroine worthy when it came to how they looked. However, Cell Phone Girls name is lame.

  20.

    6. Monkey Woman - She seems like some sort of tree hugging, green peace, vegan. She reminds me of this woman that lives out near me. Looks, actions and all.

    5. Cell Phone Girl - Ditzy, but I'd hit that.

    4. Feedback - I like his character. He'd make a great member of some superhero team. However, he's just not quite good enough for his own series.

    3. Iron Enforcer - Definitely the anti-hero of the bunch. I like him, but I knew he wasn't going to win. I'm definitely glad they brought him back as a villain, though.

    2. Lemuria - She seems a little mild mannered, but she's my favorite female character.

    1. Major Victory - Will definitely come away with a major victory.

The rest I couldn't stand. They're not even worth talking about.

I wish that Stan Lee would start another comic series of a Super Team with the characters I mentioned above.

    TEAM EXCELSIOR

Major Victory would be the team leader, followed by Lemuria. Iron Enforcer would be the Wolverine of the bunch. Maybe make it where he has an evil twin brother named Dark Enforcer. Cell Phone Girl would be the Jubilee of the bunch. Iron Enforcer and Cell Phone Girl could have the same father/daughter-like relation that Wolverine and Jubilee had. Feedback would be the Batman of the bunch. Maybe, Feedback could be Cell Phone Girls brother. Monkey Woman is just bananas. The crazy one. Kind of like Morph in the Exiles.

  21. ... Bat !!!

Please, tell me that's Talia al Ghul.

Please, tell me that the boy is Ibn al Xu'ffasch.

If anyone was going to bear the child of Bruce Wayne it has to be Talia.

I've always wanted them to get together, and stay together, in the mainstream DC Universe.

Bruce having a child with, IMO, his worst enemies daughter would be the ULTIMATE !!!

Man, I really want her to appear on the big, silver screen in one of the live action Batman movies. If they ever do get her in one, I want her to be portrayed by Rena Sofer. (More pics of Rena Sofer)She looks just like the animated version of her, click here.

Could we be getting a future Batboy out of this? What aliases will he have? Bat Head, Bruce al Ghul, Thomas al Ghul, Thomas Wayne al Ghul?

This looks like it's going to lead up to one heck of fight with Batman vs. an army of League of Assassins Man-Bat-Ninjas.

  22. I'm really loving Darth Vader's Eta-2 Sith Starfighter:

STAR WARS STARFIGHTER VEHICLE COLLECTION: DARTH VADERS SITH STARFIGHTER; SKU#: 87172; ARP: $19.99; AVAIL: OCT `06

    Darth Vader's Eta-2 Sith Starfighter Back/Left View

Darth Vader's Eta-2 Sith Starfighter Left Side/Back View

Darth Vader's Eta-2 Sith Starfighter Right Side/Front View

Plus, I like Mace Windu's Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter. Well, I guess it's Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter, because it has purple trim. It doesn't actually say it is, though. All it says is:

STAR WARS STARFIGHTER VEHICLE COLLECTION; SKU#: 85196; ARP: $19.99; Available: NOW

    Mace Windu's Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter Rear/Right View

I really like the Eta-2 Jedi/Sith Starfighter. It's my third favorite:

    4. Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator

    3. Eta-2 Jedi/Sith Starfighter

    2. TIE Interceptor

    1. Darth Vader's TIE-Advanced x1 Starfighter
