  1. i visited 3 of the 4 or 5 Walmarts in my area. All of them have a spot for the 6-inch Avengers, and only 2 have any pegs for the MU. Nothing listed about ML, but that may change over whne the Avengers figs die out. And I assume that $15.96 is the going price point now.

Man, this hobby is getting expensive

I feel you on the price. I've been picking and choosing the recent MLs on Ebay. If you buy them loose and with a BAF piece some are reasonable. Even then I can't really buy a whole wave.

  2. In my opinion, Black Bolt had the same thing wrong with him that troubled Adam Warlock, Doc Samson, and the Comic version of Loki from the Thor Legends: they are two thigh cuts away from being perfect.

If you need to make a Black Bolt, find a good masked face such as Batman and them use a plain DCUC body with some fabric for the wings.

    That's what I'm thinking.

  3. I've been thinking of customizing a few characters for a while. I've seen these figures used as base bodies and they seem to work pretty well.

Sif= Helmetless Big Barda variant. A small bit of sculting and paint and I think it works out great.

Fandral= DCU Green Arrow. I have never seen a custom like this but I bet it would work with a bit of work.

Odin= McFarlane Zeus. I've seen this figure and his is great but he is a bit short to be used as Odin and since he is a older figure the articulation is not great. I was thinking of putting a his head on a modified (new hands) Beta Ray Bill body. I would be aiming for a Kirby or Simonson theme.

Hela= She Hulk. I think shulkie would make a nice base body for a character that's seven feet tall. She would have to be heavily painted and that head dress may be a problem.

Hellcat= DCU Cheetah. Most of the features are there, it would need a great paint job though.

    Any other ideas?

  4. Some of the Spidet villains have been underepresented even thoufh Spidey himself has been done to death.

    Future Foundation reissue

New Vulture (the only other is far too rare and expensive)

Comic version of Mary Jane (Romita SR) the only 6 inch version we have is the 1st movie version.

Black Cat ,the same situation with the Vulture. The Sp3 line version was awful looking

Hydroman, The old spidey origins version is pretty bad imo. Maybe Hasbro can do better?

Silver Sable, I currently use the old 90s version in my ML collection, she is a bit short but so is the character. I bet Hasbro would not give a new one a chrome uniform.

Chameleon, I don't think they made a ML or SPO version of this character.

Kingpin? I have the old version is enough for me but I understand that he can be kind of expensive on Ebay.

  5. As much as I would love it I doubt it would happen. Marvel/Hasbro seems to love putting out Iron Man,Captain America and Spiderman figures. They don't want to spend money on tooling on a line they don't think would sell. I have no interest in a Iron Man line. I have 10 versions of the character already.

If they did put one out. This is what I want.

    1. Odin (Kirby or Simonson version)

    2. Balder (Simonson)

    3. Sif (Simonson)

    4. Loki (Kirby or Simonson)

    5. Ulik

    6. Heimdall

    7. Enchantress

    Wave 2

    1. Hogan

    2. Fandral

    3. Volstagg

    4. Hela (Kirby or Simonson)

    6. Frost Giant

    7. Executioner

    8. . Surtur BAF (dream)

I plan on customizing some of these Odin, Sif and Hela are my priorities.

  6. I just realized...

That new She Hulk body can give us all sorts of very nice albeit very controversial characters!

    • Titania, obviously
    • Thundra (yes please!)
    • but what about Zarda!
    • Frenzy/Cargill
    • Enchantress (if you keep in mind that both Thor and Loki are huge these days...)
    • Nebula (Thanos two-pack?!)
    • dare I say....Valkyrie?! (I have the two-pack but would def pay for a bigger one!)

They could make a Hela figure from that body too but I doubt they will. A Goddess of Death is too non PC these days for a figure.

  7. I'm not the new generation. And in 10 years I'll sell what I have & start with the new.

I imagine it will still be 6 figures to build Hit Monkey. Head, Torso & Tail, Right Arm, Left Arm, Right Leg, Left Leg. This is Hasbro we're talking about. None of us need to defend or apologize for them They don't want our loyalty they want our money. If they don't get it...well...they don't need it. They'll cancel the line again & make money off all their other lines.

If you want awesome, huge figures buy Marvel Selects. They have a great Rhino, Venom, Ultron & Barbarian Hulk coming soon. They also have some others already available (Juggernaut, Colossus, (Red) Hulk, Sabretooth, Abomination, The Thing...

Don't expect anything big (no pun intended) from Hasbro.

Tiny pieces will likely be cheap on eBay though if you want to finish these TBAF's (Tiny Build A Figures...I'll take a nickel each time that it's used) w/o buying every figure.

Buy what you want/like...skip what you don't. Sound logic.

I agree. I'm more stoked about the Marvel Select Ultron than most of what's being offered.

  8. I must say the new Mystique is huge improvement over the old. I really like the Protector figure too. I'm not too wild about the Red She Hulk character so she is iffy. Dr Doom is a repaint of the Hasbro Doom so I'll skip him.

    My hypothetical list is.

Red She Hulk is a maybe.

No sentry or iron fist or the new iron man? I'm a huge nut for the neo-classic armor, so that figure tops my list, followed by the other two I listed

The old TB Sentry is a bit too small but he is serviceable. The new Iron Fist is in the maybe column now because I like the new costume but over all I'm kind of indifferent.
