  1. I ordered Skull - mainly for the coat. I'll either have two Red Skulls (modern and WWII) or I have another WWII custom in mind to use it for. I passed on Winter Soldier and Cap for now.
  2. Nope, just an early release of the CA 2 figure. He also had Red Skull and Winter Soldier available. any links to those two figures? Winter soldier: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Captain-America-Winter-Soldier-loose-figure-3-75-inch-/310799354864?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item485d15cbf0 Red Skull: http://www.ebay.com/itm/310799353501
  3. I would describe Magneto's uniform as crimson. The 2-pack Daredevil is the right color - you could use that whole body (the "DD" comes off easity with acetone). The Magneto in the 2-pack is a little redder than crimson on the Daredevil I mentioned. To match that I would suggest to mix crimson and red in equal parts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Universe-DareDevil-from-Greatest-Battle-comic-pack-3-3-4-Loose-/281192285051?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item41785dc37b Gambit is more of a magenta. His figure is metallic magenta. Maybe mix non-metallic magenta in equal parts with this? http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/magenta-glamour-dust-ultra-fine-glitter-paint-514661/
  4. You know, Sabertooth is one of my favorite characters, but that figure looks weird to me. His body looks too short or something. Does it look that way in person? Maybe. He's actually taller than most of the rest of the line, but a lot of his height *is* in his legs. I don't notice it much because I pose him like this:. But fully extended, I would say his torso (shoulder to groin) is a little shorter than Omega Red:
  5. LOL - that's a bit much on the effects, but I love that uni-beam effect. Did you do it yourself?
  6. I got one myself today. At a store I visited twice during the week with no luck. And I keep thinking of customs I can use them for.
  7. Does anyone have any advice on removing female hair from the head with an eye towards swapping hair from another figure? Is there a secret to getting it off? Is it merely an issue of applying patience and slowly working the glue with a blade, or is there some trick like freezing it to make the glue brittle or heating it to make it pliable, or is there some good solvent to use? Any advice appreciated.
  8. Very nice. If you don't want so much glossiness, consider Dullcoate.
  9. Which "Toothless" did the wings come from? I have a bad feeling that you're going to reply "the 22" wingspan Toothless (aka $35 Toothless!)", in which I will have to wait quite a while for a lucky clearance find. I've been hanging-on to one of those PoP horses just for this project. Yours looks fantastic and the colors are virtually seamless! *BTW He looks waaay more impressive with Cpt. B's sword than the one supplied (which seems more suited to Valkyrie), however it's lacking an "ebony" quality (so is the stock-release for that matter lol)! I used this Toothless. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=21516046&cp=&parentPage=search I think I got it for around $12.99 on clearance? It is still in many stores currently. Yes, I need to ebony-ize the sword!
  10. Thanks all! The head is Blackbeard from the Pirates of the Caribbean 3.75 line (you maybe can still find him on clearance at TRU) and the fur is from Nicole Kidman's character in the Golden Compass movie line. The helmet is a repainted Joe helmet with sculpted horns and fur.
  11. Odin - comic version. My vision of Odin was to try to show that he is the fathers of two sons, each of whom has taken elements from Odin's costume. Thor adopted the cape, silver trim, and signature circles. Loki took the horns, gold, and tendency towards fur (though I did not add any to my own Loki). Basically, I was trying to show where the two brothers came from. I tried making a spear (Odin's historical weapon) but did not like how it turned out. The crow, of course, is from the legends.
  12. I bought the white horse from the Indiana Jones line, and plan to use wings from an Angel figure. Thanks for the kind words everyone.
  13. Here is my custom Valinor to go with the stock Black Knight (Okay, I replaced the sword, so not totally stock.) The black horse is from the Prince of Persia line, the wings are from "toothless" in the How to Train Your Dragon line.
  14. I remembered a 6th Target and checked it this morning. (YES, I have 6 Targets with 10 miles of my house. Unreal.) And the 6th was the jackpot. Looks like they put out a whole case and I was first. Black Knight, Omega Red, and Aurora are sitting on my shelf. I also grabbed a gray Hulk.
  15. Three TRU's and 5 Targets over the last 3 days. No new wave, not much to be had. I did buy a Warpath. And I saw a Bentley.
  16. Hopefully, this pic will tell you all you need to know. I bought Ginny and Cho Chang from eBay seller bluesduff2008. The figures are smaller (as they should be for teens) and have a t-crotch with a hinge that allows lateral movement. The neck pegs are substantially smaller, and the heads themselves are a bit smaller. Cho Chang's head would not come off - I think it was glued on (I assume these are factory rejects). So that neck broke (the figure that is on it's back), and I had to dremel the neck ball out of her head. Since I was dremelling, I went ahead and enlarged it enough to fit on Kitty Pryde's body. It makes a passable Karma, but probably needs a haircut.
  17. The Doctor Who 3.75 figure has a long coat, vest, and bow ties already sculpted in. It is also short compared to the MU line - size and accessories-wise it is really good, except for the head. The coat and vest are brown, though, so there's no help in that department. http://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/doctor-who-3-75-inch-action-figures-series-7/ If you have to have white, then this is the way to go: http://vortiouscustomaccessories.ecrater.com/p/14837088/casual-friday
  18. Thanks for the heads up. I missed by a hair 2 days ago. Got my order in and -once again- cancelled my BBTS order because someone else got them in stock.
  19. The Hall of Armor on Amazon now says "In stock on October 1, 2013." Mark your calendar accordingly! http://www.amazon.com/Iron-Man-Marvel-Collection-Action/dp/B00E4H152C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2YOQ6QV466XGH&coliid=I24RCJAK7HQ8MV
  20. I ordered successfully around 4 PM Eastern. I heard they were out by 4:30.
