  1. Anyone know what happened to OnyxPhoenix Productions? I ordered from there back at the end of April but can't get ahold of him/them via any of their contact info.

here is onyx's email if any of you need it: onyx_sons@yahoo.com

Did you use this one? It worked for me earlier this month. You are not alone with orders from that time period, though.

I haven't had time to work on anything major for while now, but I have been doing minor repaints and touchups here and there.

Gambit has a new coat and a couple cards, repainted Wolverines's belt to break up the monotony of yellow, did a little height extension on Magneto's waste (might be too subtle), and repainted dark Phoenix.

Updated Fantastic Four. Added flames to Johnny, a "4" buckle for Ben, simple head swap for Reed, and Sue has new hair (didn't like it short) and I slapped it on the body of my original custom.

Finally have a modern Cap worthy of the title Super Soldier. Basically a mixture of previous releases, plus the head of the newest one.

2 questions. Which Cap has the elastic shield? And where is Invisible woman's hair from?

    Really great btw.

I know Light-Up-Base Cap has the elastic bands. Others may as well, but that's the only one I'm sure of - and the light-up base figs are on clearance at TRU now.

  3. 2 questions - who was it that was working on the Arnim Zola custom? I was plotting to shamelessly ripoff your idea since I really dig weirdo characters like him. Just wondering about any updates.

Secondly, has anyone ordered from Onyx lately at all? I ordered a Bishop head in April/May and still haven't gotten it. Someone else around here had mentioned they were still waiting on an order form him a while ago as well I thought. Anyone know a contact for him other than on here(he hasn't posted in 6 months or so right?). It was only a few dollars but I REALLY want to get to that Bishop custom.

I have not progressed much on Arnim Zola because I was waiting on parts and then out of town. I still lack arms, but have some BAF Modok legs to use, plus the TV camera head (with remote control - from the Legends BAF). But here is the size comparison with all Blastaar parts - the MODOK legs are about the same length, but less bulky and have the appropriate banding - they are standing to the side. I will have make a new picture for the TV screen, so I figured I would use movie Arnim Zola actor Toby Jones. I colorized the Blastaar parts orange with Photoshop for this proof of concept.

I'd like to reduce the TV screen size some, and get the neck to be more visible, but this is a rough idea of where I'm going.

  4. Seeking opinions on a MU regular female body with the X-23 mold. I think Jubilee looks just right with the shorter leg(s). How does the BW (future Black Cat) body look with the longer leg? (Just one leg swapped for comparison purposes.)

  5. Finally got a Legends Uatu the Watcher off eBay this week, packed in a lot with a BAF Galactus, a MU Fantastic 4 set, and some FF Legends stuff, and even the Marvel Legends monsters set. Also got some fodder from China and several custom heads from StarWarsGeek. At retail I got the X-Men six-pack , four light up base figures, and a GotG set - all on clearance. All in all, a very satisfying week.

PsychoPirate was the one doing the Arnim Zola custom, using a Blastaar body and ML Arnim Zola BAF harness piece.

As far as ordering from Onyx, I did the same back in April and haven't heard anything since then.

He occasionally posts on his facebook group.

Yes, Onyx posts on FB. I just updated my mailing address with him from an order from the same timeframe. He can take a while when he is backlogged.

I am doing Arnim. I've ordered some parts and have been out of town this week. I still need to do something about arms. Feel free to borrow the ideas. Right now I'm looking at Blastaar torso, Legends BAF MODOK arms and legs, and the Legends Zola TV frame with a custom picture. I'll try to post progress when I get home this weekend.

  7. It's been a long week at work and this is actually one of 3 different sites/boards that I visit that all crashed/died this week so I'm sure this is all somehow my fault.

I got lucky and got the new wave from Amazon for $47 with free shipping and canceled my BBTS pre order. I should get them Monday. I also have been hitting up TRU on lunch and using a 30% off any clearance item coupon from their website to pick up first a Xmen 6 pack pack for $23 and a lightup base Thor for $9. Same older cashier both times and she gives me a dirty look and really looks over the coupon each time like I'm trying to pull something. The second time she made a big show of ripping the paper into a dozen pieces and tosses it away. Retail people are funny. None of the new wave but a truck is coming in tomorrow so I'll swing back in... with another coupon looking for my new favorite cashier.

That's what I did this week, too. X-Men pack and finished off the full circle of light up bases. Lots of good fodder.

  8. anyone know where the ares chest piece comes from?

It looks like what it says under "accessories" - a rubber band outline for the edge with thicker ones for the straps. The black is either just paint or a thin layer of green stuff. Pretty smart with the rubber bands, but they do tend to degrade over time. I wonder how they last?

  9. KB :( it's too bad they got bought and phased out, I would have liked another toy store to check.

I don't like the sound of this rotocasting! But I'm going to have to rip this custom off.

I'd kind of like to do a 6" size changer too with the idea that not all threats require you to be over 2 stories tall.

Back in the day. the original premise for "Black Goliath" was that he could grow to 15 feet, no more ("Fifteen Feet of Fighting Fury!"). Six inches on the MU scale would approximate that (9.3 inches is the number really needed). I'm thinking about a Legends Thunderball, or maybe just the Thunderball head on a Legends Falcon.

  10. So yesterday was my birthday, and I decided to do what I love doing when I have free time: shop for random stuff! There's no better place for that than a flea market, and my city has one of the biggest in the area: Front Porch of the South. Here's some pics of the random stuff I saw while I was there in the odd chance that someone here wanted any of it:

Have you had any luck at the semi-covered flea market that is on highway 441 north of Phenix City? Or have you tried there?
