  1. I worked on this video filmed at Fan Expo Canada in August. It's a really great music video by about obscure Marvel comics complete with costumes, back issues and everything you'd expect from a comic book convention. Tons of Marvel stuff and some pretty hilarious moments, check it out:

Classic Guardians of The Galaxy figures?

Yeah pretty sure Iron Man is part of the team to connect it with the Avengers Movie Universe since GOTG are reportedly appearing in Avengers 2.

    Teams of incompleteness!

For the WEST COAST AVENGERS team you can also add USAgent (from the Captain America line) and Moon Knight (though he was only briefly a member of the team). Would love to see the rest get made (Tigra, Hank Pym, Mockingbird, LL). Also would love to see the Avengers West Coast major villains get made like GRIM REAPER & IMMORTUS.

    The future of Avengers Academy?

How many of you are reading Avengers Academy? It was recently announced that the series will be ending and some of the characters will be in Marvel's upcoming "Avengers Arena" which looks like Battle Royale / a reason to kill off a bunch of characters. Anyway I for one am pretty sad to see Avengers Academy come to an end, in my opinion it's been one of Marvel's top series for past 3+ years. Thoughts?

Classic Guardians of The Galaxy figures?

Exactly. Also everyone keeps saying they're not going to be big sellers but I think that's just because so many people have never even heard of these characters. If the designs & sculpts are done well then I think once they hit shelves it'd be a different story. "New awesome Marvel Figures of characters I've never heard of?" I have a good feeling people would be all over this. Look at the DCU figures Mattel have been making - there are so many characters without name recognition (more so than Marvel) and they keep selling. People said the same thing when Darkhawk was announced :)

Agent Coulson lives? Figure possibly ahead?

lol which brings up another question. I only read Marvel; Is DC as kill/resurrect crazy as Marvel is? Haha yes. They also have multiple versions/identities for just about every core superhero (Batmans, Robins, Flashes, Wonder Womans, Supermans & about 5000 different Green Lanterns lol).

Classic Guardians of The Galaxy figures?

I was just checking in to see if there was any word on an MU presence at NYCC this past weekend, and I came across this thread. Which I OBVIOUSLY enjoyed finding! ;) For those that may not now, the Guardians of the Galaxy team is one that I had been requesting from Hasbro for years now...even before the MU line was officially announced. It was a running joke on the CTR Hasbro Marvel Q&A sessions that I was always asking about GotG, so Hasbro included Vance Astro as a candidate in the Fans' Choice Poll. I always liked the original team in the comics as a kid, but they really didn't have a lot of appearances until the Jim Valentino series...which I really enjoyed. Plus, each character is very unique, and I thought they would make some cool figures. Then the Annihilation series created a brand-new team, which I also enjoyed...and a few years ago at Toy Fair, I was told that my work had finally paid off...that they were going to start on this team with Vance Astro. I knew Star-Lord was coming as well, (anyone that saw the AIM soldier figured that out), from an interview I did with the brand team. Exciting...but the set wasn't the team I wanted, and it of course is warming the shelves everywhere now. With an appearance on the Avengers cartoon and the upcoming movie, maybe this will help the demand? Anyway, I have ben waiting for Vance to show up...but every reveal since then, he has not been announced. IMHO, NYCC has been THE show for MU news...very disappointing that there was NOTHING this weekend. But then again, as I have written before elsewhere...not a surprise either. "Dark days" indeed. As mentioned before I think a Vance Astro figure would be an incredibly easy repaint to do. The way things are looking at this point we may have to wait for a New Warriors revival too though. I personally think with the right push a full GOTG sub-series could be huge with fans & kids, and cross-over into stuff like LEGO seems like a natural fit. If you look at GOTG as basically Marvel Star Wars there are tons of places you could take the characters in toy form.

Classic Guardians of The Galaxy figures?

....you are joking right? I'd argue that Dan Slott is probably the bigger Marvel "historian" but Bendis has brought back his share of obscure Marvel characters from the 70s & 80s.
  9. DoctorVenom

Agent Coulson lives? Figure possibly ahead?

Okay so I guess I better not mention the rumour that he's coming back as The Vision then.

Classic Guardians of The Galaxy figures?

Loved the DnA stuff, those guys are great, but Bendis at the helm will hopefully mean bringing in more of the GOTG Marvel Universe lore (ie The Badoon, Universal Church, The Stark, etc) as he's such a big Marvel historian. I could see him bringing in a cool balance of new & old to GOTG, which I found lacking in the last series as a long-term GOTG fan.
  11. Anyone catch this article on Bleeding Cool? http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/10/10/agent-coulson-lives/ I've heard rumours that Agent Coulson will be returning in upcoming Marvel movies. Has there been any mention of a figure (complete with Avengers trading cards of course ;) ) ?
  12. DoctorVenom

Loving that Black Panther! Hawkeye pales in comparison to the original ML. Wish there were more... TMNT Lego is gonna be fun (vs Lego Deadpool!) but gotta say those GI JOE Kre-O toys are awesome. Where's the new Marvel Lego? And MU obviously :(
  13. DoctorVenom

Classic Guardians of The Galaxy figures?

Badoon figures would be awesome! Also, apparently Brian Michael Bendis is going to be writing a new Guardians of The Galaxy comic, to be announced at NYCC next week. Rumour is Steve McNiven will be drawing.
  14. DoctorVenom

Classic Guardians of The Galaxy figures?

Lots of great points. I'm fully aware that demand may be lower for these characters, but I think they'd make some fantastic figures - Charlie-27 & Yondu would be awesome but would definitely require new tooling. Talon would also be very cool. Realistically I could see them easily doing Vance Astro and Starhawk (take your pick of who they could repaint) but yeah the rest are wishful thinking at this point. In terms of classic Marvel characters though I really don't think they should be overlooked :)
  15. Just wondering if anyone has heard if Hasbro are planning on doing a set or individual figures of the original Guardians of The Galaxy. I'm not a fan at all of the new team, but with the movie coming now seems like the only chance we'll ever have of seeing the "real" GOTG as figures (Starhawk, Yondu, Charlie-27, Martinex, Nikki, Aleta, Vance Astro, Talon...) Thoughts?
