    given what's coming with it, it's expected it to be expensive

    What? Is there something they're not showing? What comes with this figure that commands an MSRP of 31.99? All I see is a rather average load-out for a Legends figure, except of course, the BAF piece has been replaced with a postcard. Getting kinda sick of Hasbro slapping a "Deluxe" or "Anniversary" sticker on a figure as an excuse to inflate their already over-inflated prices.

    Agreed that there isn't much they can improve upon with the Hulk figure, except multiple heads and maybe better paint apps. I would love to see the SDCC head sculpt, but repurposed it with the hair from the Wolverine Hulk Two Pack. That could make for an even better Hulk.

    Not likely to happen, but I'd love if they sculpted a pair of alternate "patty cake-hands," just to make the Series 1 tribute complete.

    In any case, it looks like I'll be buying Cap again. Not a problem, though. By giving the 80th sculpt a Retro-esque deco they've combined my two favorite Cap figures . . . plus an unmasked head. I just hope they haven't cut any holes in the shield to accommodate those effect pieces.

    I think people are seriously expecting too much from fantasy movies these days. If you went into this movie expecting cool fight scenes with some decent special effects and weren't looking for some cheesy deeper meaning it pretty much did that

    I think the exact opposite is true. Going back to the 70s, many of the movies considered the best ever made were sci-fi/fantasy/genre movies. People came to expect that, and when hacks rolled out low-grade schlock like Star Trek V, Return of Swamp Thing or Superman IV, they announced their displeasure with their pocket books.

    Now days, no matter how bad a movie is, whether it be a Woke James Bond or another MCU Wanna-Be Frat Comedy, people flock to it in droves. It defies all logic.

    The trouble is, people have let their expectations . . . and standards get to low.

    We all cry out for another "A New Hope, Wrath of Khan, or Superman the Movie, but they'll never come as long as we settle for The Big Thorbowski, Star-Lords Dance-Off . . . or homoerotic symbiote romances.

    Cuz $20 million isn't enough to provide for your family when it comes to the Hollywood elite, athletes & politicians. I Know people feeding a family of 5 on $15 an hr.

    What exactly does the amount you're paid have to do with getting paid for the work you do? Would that person you're so proud of for feeding a family on $15 an hour be any less worthy of respect if they suddenly got a 20-30 dollar raise?

    Eh, overpaid rich people paying other overpaid rich people. I feel like this was always how this was going to end, though I'm surprised it moved as quickly as it did.

    Ah, "Rich Shaming," the great equalizer. It's kinda heart warming to know that the second hard work and financial diligence earn any one of us our first million, those who haven't made it yet will automatically decide we're scum.

    basically they gave her  some leading roles in up coming movies.

    After CANCELLING some of her projects? Doesn't seem likely, unless . . .

    I'm no conspiracy theorist, but little by little, I'm warming toward the rumor that most of the crazy coming out of Disney lately has been smoke and mirrors. Basically, a concerted effort to discredit Bob Chapek.

    A law-suit here, leak of an unpopular plotline there, a couple off-color tweets, generally not a good look for the Mouse House's newest Cock of the Walk.

    US Agent is the one I would mostly want with Speedball coming in second as another team builder for New Warriors whom I am debating if I want to complete or not. Like I said before I have grown tired of waiting to complete my teams over the course of years. So Speedball is a debate for me. The others are passable except for maybe Lady Hydra and whatever Iron Man turns out to be. Thor as well.

    For me, the star of this one is Quake. Speedball brings up a solid second, and U.S.Agent and Lady Hydra are welcome as well. I'll have to wait and see what Hasbro has planned, but with 80th. Thor and Modular Iron Man in my collection, I just don't feel any special need to grab a new version of either.

    IMPO Kamala, alongside Mile Morales, has been one of the best character Marvel has created in years. She is such a fun character to read.

    I agree whole-heartedly on Kamala, but with Miles, I have a caveat. To my mind at least, Miles didn't really Get Good until they moved away from all the "Black Spider-Man" crap and really let him be his own character.

    I just wish all Marvel's characters were so carefully shepherded.

    It's all about branding for the toys.

    Not just the toys, they have two full-blown franchises on deck here. Movies, cartoons, comics, YA novels, stationery goods all the usual revenue streams. As you said, two multimedia franchises are better than one.

    Another possible wrinkle is that while Captain Carol seams to catch the brunt of the blow-back from Marvel's "Woke" phase,  (not really fair, but there it is), I have yet to see anyone who doesn't like Kamala Kahn. She's like a comic book version of LeVarr Burton or Milana Vayntrub (the AT&T Girl), you just CAN'T dislike them. That kind of across the board likability is rare (and potentially profitable), and I can kinda see Marvel wanting to protect it.

    There's something wrong when a Disney executive's kid, who wasn't even born when these guys were sweating their butts off to create these stories, is getting millions off licenses and movies and toys and whatnot, while the creators themselves are on public assistance, have zero health insurance, and live in squalor. Disney, Warner, etc can do better.

    Way back in the day, while I worked at the local Art Center, I was lucky enough to become good friends with a former colorist for Marvel while she was teaching down here (a comic book class for kids no less). To be fair, she didn't leave "The House of Ideas" under any animosity, but the seasoned Jersey-Girl also wasn't shy about sharing corporate horror stories with a starry-eyed Arky.

    The usual moral of her cautionary tales? If you make it to "The Game," watch your butt. Whether your an assistant to an assistant, or one of the "Rock-Star" artists, creatives are nothing but kibble for the corporate big-dogs.

    Hit-Monkey is one of those characters I've loved because of his absurdity and will read any book with him in it, but I don't see myself bothering with this show.

    Not my cup of tea. I'll hold-out for a decent action 'toon NOT written by/for those 40-something dads who wanna pretend they're remembering their bygone frat-boy days . . . which never really happened.

    Yeah, I know, it's gonna be a long wait.

    How does free apps like

    @PlutoTV

    &

    @Tubi

    have better content then a paid subscription service like

    @hulu

    Hulu has nothing good to watch omg I'm about to cancel my subscription

    I cancelled my Hulu sub. last week after I heard about the dollar price hike next month. I get prices are going up, but it was a major accomplishment just finding something to watch there at the OLD price! The extra buck is small potatoes, but for what I'm getting, it's still a bridge to far.

    I've paired down my paid services to just Prime, where I opt for the annual subscription, Disney+, mainly for the old movies and shows (hey, Disney didn't always suck), and I just recently discovered my ISP gave me a free year of HBOMax. Not sure if I'll hang on to it.

    Kinda burned out on Pluto, Tubi is awesome, and I'm just starting to get into Roku.

  13. This version of Captain Marvel is probably one of the few things about Endgame that DIDN'T completely suck wind to such a level that it permanently damaged my faith in American Cinema as an art-form.

    Just to bad I don't collect MCU figures (cause, you know sucking and killing my faith and all), and I'm really getting tired of Hasbro's crud anyway.
