SDCC Sentinel may be seeing a re-release

Did they reveal the scale for this?

the future of the Marvel 3.75 lines....

Well, I was expecting absolutely nothing, so the reveals were better than that. That said, nothing actually excites me. I plan on buying that Spidey/Mr. Negative pack just for the new character -- but he's someone that I know nothing about and thus don't care much about. No new Bronze Age characters/costumes, yet again. Is the Collector figure a straight repack, or is it a variant. I'm expecting a straight repack, since our scale has a budget of like $10 for the year. Any news when the 3.75" Star Wars vintage series will be released? Too bad Hasbro doesn't want me as a customer. :(

SDCC Sentinel may be seeing a re-release

I hope it is the Masterworks Sentinel. I expect the Logan figure to be 6" (pretty sure of it), which means I'll wait till it goes on clearance before I buy it, though. I already have 3 Sentinels. Too bad the pack in figure wasn't Multiple Man or an army builder back in the day.

the future of the Marvel 3.75 lines....

And good riddance to it!! It was yet another cheap-o store "exclusive," that hardly any of us wanted. How did we ever end up with such crummy exclusives? -- even back in the Vonner days they were more often disappointing than not. I think even given the popularity of Deadpool, that set would be a shelfwarmer.

New Sinister Six Pack set revealed

I quite like the variant Mysterio and Kraven figures from that pack, but for the others I prefer the original releases. That Spidey turned out awful, though. Sorry. Goldbug. :(
  6. Those are awesome!! I'm definitely interested. So many of these types of figures have such low production runs that unless you do the preorder, you're out of luck, which is a big turn off for me. I'm hoping these guys won't be like that. And those Aliens...... !!!!!!! Very cool stuff. Thanks for sharing, dragonkings. At least I have the collecting money free, now that I'm not giving any of it to Hasbro. (The new Star Wars figures do have excellent sculpts, but the reduced articulation combined with the hype and budget that they throw at the 6" line, makes me apathetic, at best, to new 3.75" SW figures.)

    Hiya Toys 3.75 Injustice figures

I have most of the old Infinite Heroes figures. I'm sure that these will be too big to fit in with them, though. On the other hand, if the quality is good and the variety is there, I wouldn't mind "upgrading" my 3.75 DC collection. Are most of the characters in their classic costumes?

the future of the Marvel 3.75 lines....

Aside from the final wave and the Iron Man/Mega Man set, not a whole lot left to talk about. :( Actually, there are still things, but I have to admit that even thinking about the line nowadays is a real downer. It's just such a damn shame that Vonner was laid off.
  9. I have that old Sasquatch. I have a good collection of those old 5" Toy Biz figures. I was NOT happy when Toy Biz changed the scale to 6" back in the day. For those interested, they also released a nice Man-Thing figure in the 5" scale (reusing parts from the Sasquatch figure). I am so disappointed they never released Vonner's Sasquatch for our scale. In my opinion the old Toy Biz figure, although he looks pretty nice, is too big for our scale. He's one of those characters that would be really tough to have someone make a a good custom of.

the future of the Marvel 3.75 lines....

Figures of zombie Simon and zombie Garfunkel would be cool! I keep putting off contacting Hasbro about my frustration with the "resting" of our line. I did actually bother doing the e-mail thing a couple of times back last year (I think it was) when our scale was a no-show at a con/fair (was it last year's NYCC??). I did the live chat thing with someone who had no clue what I was talking about and who failed to give me a further contact when I asked for it. It felt like a big damn waste of time. Still, I need to do it. If some of the rest of you folks also contacted Hasbro (without using profanity or calling Dwight names) complaining about the fate of our line, I do really think that it would make a difference. I really wish I knew of a contact point beyond Hasbro's generic customer service e-mail/live chat thing.

    3 3/4" sighting and hauls

Thanks to this site, I stopped off at Five Below on Thursday and picked up 2 of the Starlord/Gamora packs for only $10+tax. Even for $10 each I wasn't interested in this set of minor repaints, but for $5 each I was happy to pick them up. I wonder out of all of the comic book packs that we got, how many actually gave us 2 new characters/costumes. I don't think that there were too many. It's a shame that that second wave of the comic book pack relaunch (the Captain Marvel set and the Scarlet Spider/Spider-man set) was so weak -- I think a stronger wave would have been successful enough to have kept it going. But when the budget was obviously so poor that it only gave us two packs (and the Spidey set looked pretty cheap, imo), I don't know how Hasbro could have expected good sales.
  12. So nothing at Hascon for us, and in an interview Dwight finally stated that the line was "resting". Not a surprise to any of us collectors, but definitely not welcome news. So now that there are no new figures coming for the near future, what will you do as a 3.75" collector? I have no plan whatsoever to start collecting the 6" line. It takes up too much space for me, and it would cost far too much to buy the older figures that I would want. And, to be honest, I much prefer the look of the 3.75:" figures. I hate the look of the abdominal joint on the 6" figures, and I just like the smaller scale a lot more. So I am planning to keep my 3.75" Marvel figures, even though my collection has some huge holes in it (the rest of Alpha Flight, Ka-zar, the New Mutants, Dazzler, to name just some of my "must have" characters. I guess I need to start looking at getting customs of the remaining characters that I need, but the cost of getting quality customs is pretty depressing, especially since I "need" like 15 of them made. What about the rest of you? Are you switching over to the 6" scale? Getting rid of your 3.75" collection? Keeping your collection and hoping for new product 2+ years from now?

    3 3/4" sighting and hauls

My figures arrived yesterday. Jessica Jones turned out great. The paint apps for this wave turned out much nicer than the last wave's. I actually passed on most of the last wave (Maestro, X-23 Wolvie, etc) when I saw it at Target because so many of them had bad paint apps.

    3 3/4" sighting and hauls

Thanks for the heads up decon! I ordered the whole wave, though none of the characters/costumes really excite me. Here's hoping that Jessica Jones figure turns out looking as good as the one in the pic -- great sculpt!! Hopefully at Hascon they make an official statement on the future (or lack of) for our line. It would really annoy me if they end it without giving me the rest of Alpha Flight or any of the New Mutants.

    Hascon & NYCC hopes/predictions

The rest of Alpha Flight. Vonner teased a figure of Arcade, which would have been very cool. I am very annoyed that we never got Sasquatch -- Vonner teased him and he was planned to be released with that Puck figure that we got in a comic book back that ended up getting canceled. It seems like they must have made a prototype for him. I am also curious if Vonner's Howard the Duck figure that he had planned to pack in with Foom is the statue that we got in the Collector's Vault set, or if it was a different figure with at least some articulation. There are lots of X-verse characters that we still need. Forge, Banshee, Polaris, Dazzler,Domino to name just a few of the biggest ones, plus a bunch of villains.
