  1. The basic jist is: character redesigns happen (very often, actually), comic sales have mostly been trending down and Marvel worked to expand interest in its comic universe by creating more diverse characters and trying new things with older ones. Some succeeded, some failed, and now they're folding their successes back into a revitalized main line. How this all pans out remains to be seen. Regardless, if they don't try new things, they stagnate and die. I certainly don't love every idea they've had but am relieved they continue to look for new approaches to storytelling to keep things fresh and attract new readers so that this art form can survive. Also, and on a more basic level, when you look at all the different costumes and variants that so many of these characters have had over the years, her costume had remained basically unchanged FOR 40 YEARS. Like it or not, a revamp was long overdue. And if enough people don't like it, they'll change it back. I, for one, only cherry pick the 6" line but will be quite happy owning one of each costume.
  2. I would love to complete an '80s Defenders set with him, Gargoyle, Hellcat and Moondragon (I think we have everyone else) though it's not likely to happen now. :(
  3. BBTS has them for $85. Higher cost per figure, but it's cheaper than a case from EE and you don't have to worry about unloading extras. Thanks for the heads up but it's already shipped out. I'll make the best of it. :)
  4. EE just charged my credit card for the Jewel (JJ) wave. Really looking forward to getting rid of the repacks (sarcasm) but there was no other reliable way of getting this wave for a reasonable price. :/
  5. Nah, if you look back at the first several waves of "Return of Marvel Legends" especially, they're exclusively comic versions. The movie figures gradually crept in as the films and tv series gained in popularity.
  6. Yeah, I get it, but you could still let members log in to discuss news items instead of making them start new threads in the forums. Just a suggestion. :)
  7. Spider-Man set back up on Amazon for those interested. Passing on it myself.
  8. Ugh....thanks but too late. Bought her off eBay for $30, which is fine since I really didn't want the other two figures. Thanks for the heads up though!
  9. Is there any indication that she is/will remain a hard-to-find figure? I ask because I've yet to see her set listed online and don't have any nearby TRUs that I can easily check, which makes buying her off eBay the best option. Any thoughts from those who are following Legends news a little better than me? Thx.
  10. It's been a different day & time every year for the past several. Last year they actually announced the date in advance; hopefully this year they'll do the same.
  11. Heads up to those lucky enough to find wave 3 (Rogue, Quasar, etc.) in the wild: Hydro-Man has some serious QC issues with his eyes. I looked thru a rack of eight today and all of them had various degrees of derp-eye going on. The other three new figures looked pretty solid, but if you have a couple options with him, definitely take a closer look.
  12. What a strange selection. I'll probably get it for Enchantress and Purple Man primarily. Not really a Spider-Man fan in this scale.
  13. This wave hit many East Coast comic shops today. Should begin hitting big retail soon.
  14. While we wait for wave 2 to drop, is anyone else a little annoyed that the comic books included with the 2-packs only contain advertising for the 6" lines? If these were someone's first purchase, they wouldn't necessarily even know there was a 3.75" series currently in production. Of course this doesn't really surprise me but Hasbro's handling of this line continues to disappoint.
  15. Make sure you look at the legs as well. Saw one yesterday with pretty messy paint apps.
  16. Stumbled across the new wave at a small toy store in NYC today. They were priced at $20 each so I passed on all of them; hopefully Amazon, HTS or my LCS will be more reasonable than this. They also had the 6" Red Onslaught line at $35 each. Ridiculous.
  17. I think that's the new Illuminati series. Certainly seems eventual considering some of the more recent Legends choices are sliding into C-list territory.
  18. I saw this too. Pretty dumb of them to remove that search method.
  19. Though technically not an X-Man in the comics, Quicksilver has been a member of X-Factor (twice now, actually) and was frequently pulled into X-crossovers, so most people do consider him to be an X-character to some extent. Scarlet Witch, not so much. Polaris, most definitely. :)
  20. EE just charged my credit card for their exclusive GotG set. Looking forward to seeing it in person (I hope!).
