Marvel Legends Sightings and Hauls thread
Rukkdeez replied to aaozz9's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Me too. I made the mistake of waiting until I got off work to check some of the local B&M's on my way home. I worry about bad paint apps and jacked boxes so I do try to refrain from ordering individual pieces online. I should've pulled the trigger. -

Is the 10th Anniversary Stark/MKI 2 pack an exclusive? If so, whose? That's the only one unaccounted for. -
One thing we, as collectors CANNOT do...is complain about which version of a character we get. Whether or not it's a classic or modern. Why? For the same reasons we get the likes of Kamala Khan after only being in the Marvel U for little over a year! Because there are fans that want modern versions of characters (or new) every bit as much as there are fans who want classic. Amazing how the go to word (not from you) always seems to be "no one asked for that figure" just because it isn't what THAT person wanted. Like what THEY want is universally agreed upon. We still have Hasbro beat 2 to 1: They keep pumpin' em out, while we keep complaining... and collecting.

Legends Riders - Your Best Guess

Does this mean we have to collectively "bite the bullet" and purchase the (ulp) ...Vespa? Lol -
BULLSEYE! Shoulda known if ANYBODY was gonna know what I was thinking, it would be my brotha from anotha! Believe me, I know how fortunate Marvel based fans/collectors are with this one. I believe it was a simple matter of "bad timing" that spared us an MCU BAF for an MCU based wave. Can't have a Ronan BAF. Not after generally releasing a $25 figure mere months before. There's no doubt in my mind we would've gotten Ronan as the Build-A-Figure if not for that (We may STILL get another Ronan. I'm sure he'll be in a different uniform this go round). If that happens, I'm going to look at Sentry 459 as Hasbro's way of giving us a Fantastic Four BAF on the sly.

Here's the rundown: During Comic-Con I received the Thor/Groot,Rocket 3 pack as well as the 10th Anniversary Thor/Sif 2 pack from EE. I purchased the Red Skull/Tesseract & Defenders Railcar sets as well as the 10th Anniversary Ronan & Iron Man MKVII figures. The following week, I received my X-Men Apocalypse & Venom Monster Venom waves. This week started off with me stumbling across a Black haired Psylocke (I got the Purple haired version in my X-Men cases), then the Winter Soldier/Falcon, Everett Ross/Killmonger & Hulk/Hulkbuster 10th Anniversary 2 packs. Today, I got charged for the Deadpool Sauron & Spider-Man SP//DR waves. Should be here Saturday. 35 figs in hand since July 21. 51 come Saturday. I will always lean to the side of "there can never be too much Marvel Legends but Sweet Googly Moogly!!! -

Why don't people like the new Thing?

We need to bottle what you said and pass it around! I've riffed about scale for forever. The problem is we have people (whom I've dubbed the "Bigger is Better" posse or BiB) always default to the same excuse/rationale: "that's the way he's being drawn". This was a big issue with the Thanos BAF a few years ago. "He isn't big enough". Thanos is 6'7, not Hulk sized. On the flip, if a character is made too large (Juggernaut for example. In the costume used for the BAF, he was 6'10. If Hasbro used one of his two modern costumes, he'd be right in scale). The funny thing about the artist excuse is Thanos was seen recently in the Guardians of the Galaxy comic, and was drawn his normal size. How much you wanna bet the BiB will dismiss that as a "one off"? -

It's the same Sentinel from the MU. I think it's 14" tall.

I should've mentioned this on the "correspondence" thread; the 3.75" scale Legends are (more or less) on "hiatus". They don't want to use the term "retired" or say that they're done. They kinda did that with the 6" line and see what happened?
