  1. Just like TRU got Back in Black Deadpool (that poor figure is going through the ringer).
  2. Thanks Mc U, but we've all seen this. Peeps on this thread are talking like there are photos of the actual product out there. I see there aren't and these "people" who "don't like" this iteration of the Thing (once again) are ML collectors who just have to complain about something.....yet will make sure they have theirs. No photos, no Hi Res images....and people "don't like" the Thing?!?!!? To any this applies to; COME ON people! How many times have we seen a product shot like this one and went crazy thinking "that figure is gonna be awesome", only to find it kinda isn't? Oh I get it, we're doing it in reverse so THIS time, we'll be pleasantly surprised. Geez. I love my ML community but I gotta tell ya, some of us are just plain ridiculous. Of course I could be completely mistaken and this is a case of "fake news". Someone just putting it out there that "people don't like this version of the Thing" (I have to admit, this is the 1st I've heard of it) just to stir some S#!t!
  3. Waitaminute! There are pics of the Thing figure?!?! Where who? You're absolutely correct about the attitude toward Toybiz vs Hasbro. It's just like the "who's better, yesteryear players vs current. The thing with Hasbro is we can see the obvious improvements anatomically as well as facially on both Marvel and MCU figures, and are light years ahead of anything Toybiz ever did (and with the exception of the Blue wasp, I have every Toybiz figure so I would know). The one thing TB still has (and most likely always will) are their washes on the paint apps. Other than that, now that we have stuff to compare with, the Toybiz stuff (for the most part) is downright ugly. It's the main reason I abandoned my "no redos" campaign.
  4. I also got mine in yesterday. I lucked out in that I had a green and white head Mysterio (one in each case). As for the Lizard BAF, I agree about the tail (even Dwight Stal himself said he'd go a different way if he could do it all over), but as for the head, the only fault I find is the "perpetual" tongue. Shoulda been removable, or better still, Hasbro could've gone the Rhino BAF route and given us two heads (one sans tongue). The dinosaurian look bothers me not at all. Definitely better than "toothless" Lizard.
  5. According to the notification from my credit card company, I should be getting the Spider-Man wave in by Thursday. About time!
  6. Yeah, and the Scarlett Johanssen figure....doesn't look like Scarlett Johanssen. Just great. Now the "Actors in Cosplay" lovers will whine for a redo and it will take up yet another Marvel slot. Just great.
  7. Brickseek comes through again! Told me one of my Walmarts had 6 Thanos' in stock late today. That suggested it was on a pallet. I go there and had to wait for them to bring out the pallet (3 pallets of toys and the one I'm waiting on is the last one. On top of that, the Thanos case is at the very bottom), but managed to get some good paint apps. Returning the ones purchased the other day tomorrow. They also had the motorcycles and the Infinity Gauntlet. Had Stormbreaker/Bringer too.
  8. Found Thanos at another Wally World. It was nerve wracking because I was monitoring via Brickseek the entire time I was at work and I saw the quantity decrease and settled at 2 (this was at around 2 o'clock). I get off work, check Brickseek and the 2 are supposedly still there (strangely enough, the Walmart I was at last night where scalpers came and cleaned the cases out is still showing 6 unites whereas all other Walmarts in the area have all decreased to ZERO). I go there after work and lo and behold: there the are! I then saw why. One box was damaged and worse, the grinning headsculpt has clear paint imperfections, while the other had one paint blemish, but the box was good. I bought them both and will simply sit on them until more come out (and I can actually get to them), purchase, then return the two I acquired.
  9. because they have to promote the Ant-man and wasp movie since it out right after infinity war and they don't have a wave planned for it. I know this. Doesn't make it any easier knowing I'll have to track down another Black Knight, ESPECIALLY after what happened to me last night.
  10. Just preordered Avengers wave 2. For those hoping there was still an unannounced figure, sorry to disappoint. More over, peep the case ratio; 1× Black Knight 1× Malekith 1× MCU Scarlett Johassen 1× MCU Chris Hemsworth (W/Stormbringer) 2× Paul Rudd 2× Evangeline Lilly Just couldn't break us off with 2 Black Knights huh Hasbro?
  11. So Cal. I didn't need the Avengers wave or bikes (have em all already), just Thanos (I forgot to mention there was also Stormbringer and the 5" toys as well...RAVAGED).
  12. So here's the rest of the story; I get back there about 11:15. They still haven't put the items out. I decide to wait in my vehicle for about a half hour, watch a movie then go back in. I do this and when I get back there, the Thanos box is cleaned out, the Riders and Avengers boxes are in the girls toy section with only the Black Widow, MCU Iron Man (both), Captain America and Iron Spider left. I got straight scalped right under my nose! The pallet was untouched by Walmart personnel. I could've done that myself, but I tried to do it the right way. This was worse than merely coming up empty. PS: Notice what was left out of the Avengers wave box?
  13. Lol. I'm in Walmart right now. They have a pallet with the Riders, Avengers (it has a sticker stating to NOT put out before March 3rd) AND Thanos. They won't let me get the Thanos. "They'll be out at midnight" I was told. Just one box, 6 deep. You know they'll be gone by the time I get back tomorrow after work. Silver lining: at least they made it to my area.
  14. Got Mr. Fantastic today for $12.99 plus reward, bringing it down to $11.99.
  15. Thanks for that Mc U. I stated on your review you didn't turn the box up like you normally do, but suggested in the comment section to use the UPC on Brickseek. You're killin' me with how quickly these figs show up in your area. I'm about to miss out on getting Mister Fantastic for $12.99 because my area almost always lags.
  16. From what I've been reading "Cull Obsidian" is the name of the team they're (MCU) going with. I think the team is named after him because he's supposed to be the oldest among them. Anyone see anything different?
  17. I know that they arent going to be using the name Black Dwarf in the movie. So they are going with the group Name of Black Order instead of Cull Obsidian and just using that name specifically for Black Dwarf. Similar to MBaku not using the Man-Ape name. I think we knew that was going to be the BAF for wave 2. I know I said it would be either him or Thanos for the 1st wave.
  18. I'm on Team Strong Guy, mostly to rep my brother from another cyber mother Monron, but I'd love to have him for myself. Nine of would be a great Build-A-Figure. I can come off the bench on your team, if you'll have me.
  19. No, I don't really believe all of that is a factor. First of all I don't think they're putting all that much extra love into the figures. Sure, the figs used for the reveals and press images look superb, but so do most of the press images for almost every other MCU figure. You, more than anyone, has to realize these are show room models with fresh paint and perfect lighting and settings that make the figures look better, many times over, than the actual product. Anyone who doubts that need only look back at the Hascon presentation where all the figures strewn out across the table were so vivid & shiny & perfect. Someone even interviewed the painter(s) that came along on the trip & pretty much all conventions to make sure everything looked perfect. As far as the facial scan tech, my comments were partially tongue in cheek and I actually agree with Rukk that it was tech that was gonna be used on every MCU figure from this point on anyway, but hey, somebody's gotta pay for those actors to be inconvenienced and that extra employee to hit the enter button on the keyboard to start the process, right? Also, regarding each figure requiring new molds, again, don't they all pretty much get new molds anyway? Even the 3 Starlords we got last year were all at least 70% unique to each one. Believe me, I checked. So I'm really not buying that part either. A new sculpt is a new sculpt, I really don't see how the new Red Skull mold involved all that much more cost to produce than the first one, other than normal inflation & the aforementioned scan tech. And what about all the so called "premium" accessories? C'mon, tiny hands and guns and a few extra head sculpts versus a giant hunk of plastic typically used for most BAFs? Please, the cost's would be a wash at best. Furthermore, I don't see that the Red Skull figure consists of any more options than the Nick Fury/Dirk Anger/SHIELD Soldier figure from the MCU Giant man wave. I just don't see it under any rationale. It just doesn't add up. On the other hand, if this is the testing point to gauge whether a separation of the MCU and comic figures into two distict brands is a viable option, let me be the first to say I'm all on board. Not just because I prefer the comic figs much more, but so that we now have the option whether to purchase them or not instead of feeling like they're being forced down our throat to complete that BAF, which is usually awesome, for the most part. Seriously, I think I speak for at least 90% of the comic fans when I say we would much more prefer, say a Tarantula figure on an almost 100% reused mold, minus the head sculpt, over yet another MCU Captain America, Iron Man or Starlord. On the other side, as not to seem like I'm picking on MCU fans, I've found recently that there are a lot of collectors that prefer only MCU figures. This would also allow them the freedom to buy only the movie figures they want as well if they don't particularly like or feel like buying the comic figures. On that end I can see justification for cost increase as pretty much every single figure would require a new mold and the lack of a BAF would help level out costs when one of the larger figures, such as Hulk or Thanos, has to be produced. As usual, I would fall on either side. I would love the option to get a MCU Ronan or Yellowjacket or Trevor or Crossbones, but could care less (or couldn't care less) about Captain America or Iron Man (oooh, but he has the wing flaps...give me a freaking break!). If that's the case, let's do it. Let's call it a success. Let's make ML comic again, and occasionally throw in that "sure to sell" movie figure in there and then have that premium line to put out all those actor action figures that are also in demand. If it's a permanent thing with the end result of ML going back to it's comic roots, I take it all back and it's the best idea Hasbro has had yet. Dilly Dilly
  20. The question is can you get him for $12.99? (Still hasn't hit So cal)
