Nice summary of findings! I routinely stop at about 20 Walgreens in the North Pinellas & West/North Tampa area every week. In the past few days I’ve seen almost every Walgreens receive a minimum of 3 Things, maximum being a full case. Same goes for Black Series General Veers.

I’ve also noticed restocking of Mr Fantastic, but no Magik yet. Maybe this week?

    Thanks lol.

It’s like every county south, north and west of me is loaded with Things lol.

I literally saw zero Mr. Fantastics in my recent 20+ store hunt. I saw, collectively, about 20 Sue Storms and about 3-4 Torches but 0 Reeds. When Reed hit earlier in March this year, I found him by the half dozen (a full case) at tons of stores. In the months that have followed, he has SOLD. What I did notice though, is that mostly every store had a planogram label for Mr. Fantastic, which I thought was strange seeing as that shelf tag wasn’t generated for the actual figures release but was just now made...at the exact time Thing & Majik are landing lol.

I don’t really think I will have any issue snagging a couple more Things this weekend but I am hoping to find Majik as well so I can just close the book on Walgreens for 2018 and not have to worry about hunting a single Walgreens until March 2019 (presumably), when Mystique lands. Hopefully, Walgreens won’t botch my order of Mystiques (to date, the only order they sent me damaged figures on was of the Thing) and I won’t have to bother hunting her at all. To that end...hoping Majik hits their site soon.

Honestly, i am looking forward to closing the book on 2018 as a whole as this year has been nothing short of a roller coaster of product and specifically, exclusives. The last time i was this bombarded by product was the glory days of 3.75 (mid-late 2000s) when between Star Wars, G.I.Joe and Marvel Universe...there was literally a wave/multipack/box set/vehicle coming out like every week almost lol.

If it’s a wave or assortment still coming out before years end, I already have it on preorder from EE so I am really just missing about a half dozen or so exclusives for the rest of the year; between McFarlane, Legends, Neca & Black Series...and then I am DONE lol.

I will keep you posted if I see more Things and if I see a Magik. Please keep me posted about what you find up north. Lmk if you also want me to get extra ones for you, I do not mind. I know the drive can be painful.

My wife is always on the look out for me lol.

    @americamgl

Thanks so much for the kind gesture! I will hold off on taking you up on your very kind offer for now though but we can stay in touch for sure.

In summary, I hit 22 Walgreens in a 24 hour period, between this past Friday evening and Saturday night. The stores I hit comprised of Pines, Miramar, Weston, Cooper City and Davie. I only saw Thing at 2 stores, with one store having the 3 I mentioned previously and another store having 1.

I did see Surfer at 4 stores out of the 22 and 2 of those 4 stores had them in totes from a fresh delivery, stacked in the aisles that I rummaged through. The two stores that had Surfer in totes had 3 each, one store had 1 on the shelf and the 4th store had 3 on the shelf, so I saw about 10 Surfers in total.

    I saw zero Majiks.

Today, I decided to hit one store (which was a store I previously hit this weekend) after picking up my youngest from his daycare school as the store is one of the easier ones on the route home. The store had gotten in some Things. Don’t know how many this store received but I’m assumjng 3 as I found 2 and luckily, both were in great shape.

Based on the massive hunt I did this past weekend, I believe I was simply just too early on about 90% of the stores I hit as I don’t think they received Thing yet. Also, based on my findings, it would appear that the stores in this area receive about 3 units at a time. This is also in sync with the amount of General Veers I found. With the exception of one store that had a full case of 8, I didn’t find more than 2-3 Veers at any one store but unlike Thing for example, I found Veers at around 50% of the stores I hit, which was about 10-11 stores in total.

I still need 2 more Things (in addition to 2-3 Majiks since I haven’t found her yet) so I will do another big hunt this upcoming weekend. Hopefully, I don’t need to hit another 20+ stores this upcoming weekend to score what I need  but the bright side is, I can easily manage 4-5 stores an hour with the proper routes taken.

I don't hide things myself. But i do find hidden figures all the time. And honestly, that's just part of the game boys. That's why we call it "hunting".

Now if the employees hide stuff, (like in the back) that gets me.

I’ve been collecting for over 20 years and  I STILL do not understand collectors “stashing” figures. So you walk into a store, find a figure you want but only then realize you don’t have the money to buy it? You didn’t know how much money you had prior to entering the store? Why are you hunting if you know you can’t buy stuff? If you walk into a store looking for a figure but don’t have $20 available in your bank account or on a credit card...there’s a problem...and you should probably re-evaluate your financial priorities.

I mean I know there’s instances where you would maybe want to do that for a friend or something so he/she can pick up that figure after work or what not but it would be silly to suggest, imo, that THAT is the reason why collectors (including me) are frequently finding hidden stuff. Over the years, I literally can’t even count how many hidden figures my friends and I have found while out there randomly in our travels.

Am I crazy! Am I missing something here?

We are usually the last ones to get anything imo, but plenty of ML Things and Silver Surfers in Miami, Florida.

Man what the hell lol. I just got back from hitting 8-10 Walgreens (I kinda lost track) and only one store had Thing and out of the 3 the store had, only one was mint. I live in Pembroke Pines FL and hunted Pines, Miramar and Weston tonight. Sounds like I need to trek down to Miami but thought of the traffic already makes me want to vomit.

Screw it, my wife works in Miami so I’m just gonna force her to hit every Walgreens she finds on the way home from work, every day, until I have several Majiks and Things. That should go over with her well...right?

    Yup! Hunting can bite me.

Exactly lol. I collect way too much stuff and have wayyy to little time to ever think about hunting figures anymore store exclusives not withstanding of course. Hunting was a LOT more fun and a LOT more productive back in the day. Nowadays, If it ain’t a brick n mortar exclusive, I take 30 seconds, preorder the figure or case/wave from EE, take another few seconds to update the inventories on my phone and then promptly go about my day.

That being said, the amount of exclusives all dropping at the same time right now is just staggering and I’ve pretty much gone out on late night hunts every night this week. Fortunately, thanks to BrickSeek, I’ve been hunting smart and not hard and have been finding something every single day for 5 days straight now.

This week alone i have found the TVC Tie Fighter from Walmart,  Silver Surfer, Thing (need more though) & General Veers from Walgreens , McFarlane COD Seraph, Gamorrean Guard, Moloch & Bespin Leia from Target and the Neca IT variant & the Spidey/Mr. Negative 2pack exclusives from GameStop.

Ive done more “hunting” this past week than I have in the past 2 years...it’s killing me lol.

I ordered two. One box was good. The other was squeezed and warped. I guess since I always keep one of what I buy MOC, I got lucky. The Trevor 3 pack arrived today. They were packed ok (some bubble wrapping was used) and both boxes were good.

Nice to hear yours came in ok and that has restored a little hope for me with Amazon exclusives going forward so I will order the Sentinel Set when it comes back online. lol looks like the trick is to order more than one. I have intentionally ordered more of a figure than I actually needed in the past, several times, with the thinking of “well, at least ONE of these should come in mint” and it’s usually paid off for the most part so I guess I’ll start doing that with Amazon exclusives.

Unfortunately, that trick did not work with the Things I ordered from Walgreens...with 7 of the 8 arriving destroyed and the 8th one being in just passable condition. Ugh.

  7. 13 hours ago, Rukkdeez said:

Changing up for a minute; I got the Captain Marvel wave on preorder and my DOFP Logan & Sentinel came today, and my Trevor 3 pack arrives tomorrow.

    Rukk,

How did your Sentinel Set (I missed it when it went up) wind up arriving, condition wise? I’ve never had an issue with Amazon exclusives before as they’ve always been shipped inside an inner white shipping carton sleeve and then placed in the box with tons of packing material but my MCU Iron Man 3 Set arrived this past Monday and it was destroyed!

Amazon put zero packing material in the box so it bounced around and crushed all the corners. Heck, even one corner had about a 2in long tear in the cardboard, which definitely didn’t happen during shipping so it was placed in the box like that. Very disappointing so that will be going back in the mail to them this weekend.

After this recent experience with the Iron Man 3 Set, I’m extremely skeptical about ordering the Sentinel Set and any other exclusives going forward...

  8. So 7 of my 8 Things came in from Walgreens completely destroyed. Jammed into a box that was too small (forcibly bending/ripping) the tops of the cards just to fit them in the box and there was very minimal packing material.

Up until this point, Walgreens had actually shipped me many orders of mint figs with plenty of packing material so this was very disappointing. I’ll be returning a good handful to my local store this weekend so hopefully some other collectors will grab them versus scalpers.

I am gonna have to do a huge Walgreens hunt this weekend for Things, General Veers and if I’m lucky, some Majiks too.

Big time suck. Alot of them call them selfs master collectors. What a crock of !@#$

I don’t hate scalpers, I just feel bad for them. Sure, there are professional toy flippers/resellers out there who really know what they are doing but they are few and far between and a fair amount of the real professional flippers pay wholesale for the figures, not retail, when they can.

Most “scalpers” unfortunately did not get the memo and think making minimum wage is an acceptable career plan so they feel the need to augment their income (instead of just working harder and making more money) with randomly flipping figures from time to time, for, at the end of the day, very minimal profit when it’s all said and done. The scalper in the photo clearly thought he “needed” to scalp a Thing...to make what, an extra $15 that day (after costs/tax/shipping/Ebay/PayPal fees). It’s just kind of sad when you think about it.

8 Things??? Party on Yancy Street!

I was highly confident earlier this week that I'd be able to find him locally when he starts shipping, but for some crazy reason two of my local stores just put out 6 Mr Fantastic figures and another one just put out 10 Daredevils (no, that's not a typo). With all of those along with the Venom and 1st Deadpool waves on the shelves I'm a little nervous about them finding room for Ben Grimm.

    Lol.

6 Reeds and 10 Yellow Daredevils? That’s nuts. I’m going to assume (and hopefully correctly assume) that this is a very isolated incident. That’s just crazy. It almost sounds like that store got flagged for a distribution center purge or something. The only time I have ever seen any of my local Walgreens get re-stocked with older figures was when one of the stores received a full case of the Onslaught Wave a couple months ago and that wave will officially be 3 years old by January so idk what the hell was going on with that one!

  11. I got a BrickSeek hit earlier tonight on the Walmart MCU Iron Man 1 Set (#1) and it was right on the money as the store just got a truck and did have all 8 units (2 cases) so I was able to just pallet shop the boxes.

The total BrickSeek instock percentage for the MCU Iron Man 1 Set is currently very low (13% as of a couple hours ago) but the set does seem to be “trickling” out. Price was $44.73. I’m in South Florida.

Unfortunately, that was the only thing the store had as far as exclusives go. No TVC Tie Fighter, no Black Series Mimban Trooper, no Cage & Claire set and nothing on any of the McFarlane exclusives. Conversely, It’s looking like Hasbro is going to yank the TVC Island Journey Rey & Mimban Trooper from Walmart and give them to EE instead and I am eagerly waiting on my EE rep to confirm that because that would indeed be super awesome.

I bought two Iron Man sets, took the shipping boxes and put the other 6 on the shelf (Hialeah, Store #1590). Fortunately, the cases were on top of the pallet and were undamaged so pretty much every set in each case was mint.

    BrickSeek SKU #668817038

Best of luck to anyone on the hunt!

  12. I can also confirm the website listing for Thing was legit as both of my orders of 4 were shipped and will arrive Monday. I don’t know if he will be offered through their site again but I’m 100% certain Thing will hit stores as Surfer (just like every other Legends exclusive) hit all my local stores after he went up on the site. Of course, I can’t speak to everyone’s area though. I am sure me living in a very densely populated city and having a Walgreens just about every mile or two in any direction also helps.

  13. 6 hours ago, BradMan said:

    Thanks Bradman!

Unfortunately, I’d rather not trust Walmart to handle the package through shipping or ISPU so I’d prefer to try it find it on the shelf after they unpack a case. However, the SKU number Walmart lists for this set on their site (569978747) does not work on Brickseek-says the number is invalid. Since it’s walmart, I can’t say I’m surprised by this but it is frustrating none the less lol.

  14. Here here!

    So...

Mystique is Walgreens, Weapon X is in the next X-Men Wave (I guess), Guardian is going to be in of the Avengers Waves (I guess) but...Wendigo I’m not so sure of. I personally think it would be odd to have him be the BAF for the X-Men Wave or an Avengers Wave so maybe Deadpool Wave 3? Maybe a boxed release by itself as an exclusive?

Regardless, I am really surprised that they passed up showing a Northstar & Aurora lol. Besides that, I’m completely fine with the reveals but the ONLY thing I wanted to see was MORE F4 figs... I love that Walgreens is doing a themed program now but since that program has now changed to X-Men for the next 18 months, we aren’t getting any more F4 figures I suppose and that makes me a very sad panda. I mean they did sneak in that Medusa during the F4 program so they could technically release whatever they want but I would LOVE to see another retailer go all in on themed exclusives. You want X-Men exclusives?-then go to Walgreens. You want F4 figs?-then go to Target. You want Spidey exclusives?-then go to Gamestop, etc etc. Of course, if every retailer got a theme (which again, I think would be great), that shouldn’t preclude them from getting all sorts of other box sets/exclusives on an annual basis just like we currently have/receive.

Only seen in Canada so far. I’m in the same boat as you 11/12.  Number 1in the series and it’s the last to be released, Amazon 3 pack is due out next month

Thanks for the link sir. Unfortunately, there’s no SKU number shown on the listing, at least not that I could find. I’m hoping I can just brickseek this and call it a wraps!

I had my Surfer order canceled too. I was so mad. The customer service person gave me the runaround on why. Apparently they took more orders than what they had in stock. We have computers now. How the f@#$ does that happen?

Quite easily actually, it’s just an inventory discrepancy issue. It could be one of several things; damaged stock (they will salvage/RGD back vs selling online), not properly accepting/invoicing all of their manifests for their deliveries, etc etc.

Same thing is happening (on a much wider scale) with the recently released Target exclusive Black Series Gamorrean Guard. Target wayyyyy underordered from Hasbro to meet demand as well as must have had inventory discrepancies on top of that (my guess) as they had to cancel countless orders of the guard. It’s a total mess.

i wouldn’t fret though as it would be a precendent for Walgreens to not carry their exclusive figures in-stores, at least as far as Legends & Black Series go anyway (they’ve released certain Pop! Exclusives only through their site). While my Surfer order didn’t get canceled, I can definitely empathize with your frustration, but I am sure Surfers will make their way to mass release at store level. Wish you the best sir!

Apocalypse wave came in today from BBTS. Psylocke was the one with black hair. Anyone else order off BBTS and get the purple hair variant?

I ordered 3 cases of them Apoc wave from EE, they all came in 3-4 weeks ago. Each case had the purple hair so I recently put an order in for an additional single Psylocke, in the hopes that it’s rhe black hair version lol.

  18. Well this was a very weak SDCC for me. Not as in I didn’t like what was shown, because I did like quite a bit actually but mainly from a quantity standpoint. There was far less shown here than what we traditionally see at SDCC and drastically far less than what we saw at ToyFair this year.

The reason for this seems to be quite clear as they even referenced this in the panel slide show and that is because they are really promoting the upcoming cons and plan to keep more reveals saved for all of those cons respectively. If this is the new motus operandi, than I will just learn to taper my expectations for future SDCCs is all.

    Pros for me:

    1. Blink

    2. Skullbuster

    3. Kingpin

    4. Xavier

    5. Silver Sable

    6. AIM Soldiers. Pushing the army builders is just smart business. Bring on Shield, Hand, etc.

    7. Vintage Wave 2 is stellar

    Cons for me:

    1. Majik for Walgreens? Great to see another release of Majik but not at the expense of a FF4 character...especially when they could’ve just thrown her in as the bonus 8th fig without the BAF piece for the 2019 X-men Wave.

    2. No mention of HasLab at the panel? WTF. I don’t need a reveal of what they have planned but at least an acknowledgement that they know it exists... Did they not notice that the first project funded at over $4.5 million dollars, almost doubled its goal AND was for the 3.75 Scale (ya know, the scale that Hasbro thinks marvel collectors don’t exist for anymore?)

    3. No mention of 3.75 (that was practically a given so trust me, I wasn’t holding my breath)

    4. No mention of 12in (since 12in was also absent at ToyFair, I guess this officially means they are “resting” the line). Shame.

    5. Archangel deluxe set for $30? Same with Majik, should have just been slotted into the X-men waves or something. It’s the SAME figure as before but with extra heads and an Apoc claw arm and that’s worthy of a “deluxe” figure and for $30??? To be clear, I’m not upset about the fig be re-released by any means but given what I stated above, I just don’t get it.

    6. No mention of any new Legends assortments or extensions to existing assortments (like Knights for example)

    7. No Thor figs revealed. Was hoping for at least a tease of another Ragnarok Wave since we are getting a 2nd BP Wave. BP definitely blew away box office expectations to which Hasbro was clearly not prepared for BUT Ragnarok also made close to $1B and far out-grossed the previous 2 installments... Also, at the end of the day, I’d rather see a follow up MCU wave to Ragnarok that could possibly contain Korg, GrandMaster, Skurge, Heimdall, etc...than to NOT see ANY more Thor comic or movie figs...

    8. Accessory Packs? Neca makes accessory packs/dioramas all the time and Legends is by far a stronger selling and wider/deeper IP. Neca makes packs of stands that support alt Head sculpts for crying out loud! (man do I love Neca) The money being left on the table here by Hasbro is nothing short of astonishing and it’s almost inconceivable to think that they aren’t at least aware of this...

Only two reveals I must buy: Archangel and Magik.  Skullbuster.....cmon guys.

Allow me to reply to your post in case Hasbro is going to read this forum (they say they do)

THANK YOU for Skullbuster! Bring on the bad guys!!!

Majik & Archangel, while being re-issues, are better than the previous versions so yes, you can take my money
