I wouldn't be surprised if it is done to allow creators the chance to do stuff without all the continuity baggage, but at the same time will be designed with one eye on easily adding them to the MCU if needed

I doubt it. They probably don't want to confuse the viewers with some alternate comic story they probably never read.

Blade did appear kid friendly (along with the punisher) in the Spider-Man Animated Series and well it wasn't good
