First of all I'm not sure this entire topic qualifies as "news". If Gamestop (a company that's going under and is desperate to get what they can), upped the price it doesn't follow that all other retailers will.  A lot of what I'm seeing here is rumor, speculation, and false conclusions based on shaky info. Not to mention the idiots who posted error filled posts and now have too much ego to admit they were wrong. So they double down. So lets not categorize this as anything its not yet confirmed to be.

Same here, I was surprised to see this on the front page.

    Classic.

By classic I don't mean old or first appearance. It's usually the one that most people think of when they think of the character. It's usually the longest lasting on a character and IMO the best one.

As an example we'll use Wonder Man. His green first appearance monstrosity isn't classic. Some could consider his Safari outfit classic. I don't I think it's dumb. His first good costume and best is also what I'd call classic is his black and red suit with or without sunglasses.

That's part of the problem with doing classic/iconic costumes, everyone's opinion is different as it will depend on their own personal tastes and what era they remember. Alos just because it lasted the longest doesn't exactly mean it is the best, again it's down to personal choice

Licensing arrangements for comic properties can sure get weird.  So if they get Jessica, do they get Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D.?  Those're kinda big pieces to her story.  I doubt Sony would want to try to flex on Disney like that given the already tenuous Spidey situation though.  Tricky stuff.

Yeah, I know.  I try to ignore it.

They could easily just create their own terrorist group and anti-terrorist group.

Ah yes, headcanon is always stronger than actually canon.

I'm not arguing the credibility or the rumor (I'm just not plugged in enough to have an informed opinion), but how in the heck is Jessica Drew covered under the Spider-Man-related characters movie license?

Jessica has been pushed as a Spidey-character since Spiderverse where her powers are reveal to stem from the same totemic forces as Spidey

If one of the two license left Hasbro, my guess is it would be Star Wars. Not saying it will nor do I really think it will because after all SW is very much an evergreen property and the PR alone if Hasbro lost it likely would not bode well for the stockholders. That all being said I think SW has been very much in a rut these past few years. SW has always been primarily a 4" line and 4" just doesn't do that well these days at retail. The movies have not been strong performers and even though we do have a slew of Disney+ programing coming, the license I am sure costs a premium. Again my overall feeling is Hasbro will retain both licenses, but if one were to leave my guess is it would be SW.

Yeah SW isn't doing well at the moment, like seriously no 3.75 line for Rise of Skywalter, but some new 5 inch line? It doesn't help over here, most Star Wars toys are very hard to find now.
