  1. Where is this toys r us store people are talking about? google just shows me info sites?
  2. I am already regretting how much money I'm gonna spend on these waves. Including black panther, 2019 might shape up to be my favorite legends year ever! So many of these are so good and so many movie figs I was expecting NEVER to see! I'm very happy right now.
  3. For anyone needing Chicago based tips/sightings, I started a facebook group for specific store locations, etc. https://www.facebook.com/groups/995636053963773/
  4. ok. Does anyone know another website/forum with info on Chicago based sightings?
  5. Why won't Marvelous news let us start location based sightings? What y'all have in Miami and Los Angeles does me no good. And what I find in Chicago, does most of you no good. I need to know which stores in chicagoland have a Dora Milaje. I can google the internet options. Location based sightings makes soooooooo much more sense!
  6. Captain marvel been at chicago Walgreens for at least a few days!
  7. Definitely NOT feeling this. I'm surprised DST wasn't able to make a better venom--I usually have faith in them. I'll stick with my Toy Biz Venom, thank you
  8. I purposely never bought a black panther cause I was waiting for a purple version. The all black is just too boring for me. LOVE this!!!
  9. Cool. Thanks for explaining. I was mostly worried, cause Black Panther is clearly going to be the best wave for me!
  10. This is A SICK photo!! Where did you get the mini subway diorama? P.s. Are we Not supposed to be able to comment on the newer posts? There is no comment button for me?
  11. I was not excited for this movie at first, but their promotional game is on point and I'm getting more and more excited everyday!
  12. Yeah that would be a surprise! Personally, Her outfit is a little over the top for me--I tend to go for semi realistic figures, but I'll definitely give her a second look. I didn't read the comics, so maybe that's why I'm not so excited for the figure. I Do have that iron man tho--Had to make that Hulk Buster!!!
  13. How can this be decided when 2018 isn't over? There's still more coming out.
  14. Is it me, or does spidey paintjob look so dull and boring (especially next to Iron man) these weapons are sick! and I might get iron man just for this.
  15. WOW. I thought he'd live forever?!?! like a real super hero. So sad there won't be anymore cameos in the MCU :(
  16. What a cash grab. I'd rather just watch the R version again. Who am I kidding, I'm gonna go. lol
  17. Nice! good to hear, I actually did skip the wasp--cause I already had CUll and haven't seen the movie yet. But since you mentioned it, I'll give her a chance.
  18. I can only get so much from the pics and videos online--even Shartimus Prime, who does such an amazing job at reviews, can't replace the experience of holding or owning a figure. I am lucky to live in Chicago, where several world class toy stores (Quake especially) allow me to hold and test out loose Marvel Legends, Amazing Yamaguchi, etc. before putting up the cash--even the most rare, from BAF Toy Biz Sentinel and Black variant Apocalypse, to every new figure that exists. with this privilege, I've checked out figures that I had either planned on skipping, or thought about picking up, but wasn't too excited about. And sometimes, I find out I was wrong! Sometimes, what failed to turn me on digitally, becomes my new favorite and I can't stop looking at, holding, and posing it! What are your biggest surprises? What inspired me to ask is the latest ML Tiger Stripe Wolverine and Boxers deadpool. The deadpool doesn't have any particularly ground breaking sculpts or pain apps or accessories, etc... and There have been SO MANY deadpools in the past 2 years, It was hard for me to get super excited about any specific one. But what makes deadpool (the character) so special? He's not the strongest, or smartest, or fastest, or most powerful--but he IS the most fun! and everything is possible with him, including fighting epic historical battles in silly boxer shorts, pink slippers and one dirty sock! This figure is SOOOO unique and out of place, I cannot imagine my collection anymore without it. Even the red paint, which I originally saw as too neon/loud, looks so damn brilliant in person, and continues to make him stand out. The exposed muscle tissue under melted skin and half mask add to his over-the-top fun factor. The guns are above average and I know the holster does not come with a gun, but I have so many left over guns to put in there, I couldn't care less. I'm sure we can all dream of ways to improve ANY figure ever made, but for $20 AND a superb Sauron body AND Head!?!? this is a Must! Tied with that for me is 2018 Tiger Stripe Wolverine Marvel Legends. I love Wolverine so much, But I already have/had so many, again, it was hard for me to get too excited about a figure I have so many of, didn't come with any accessories (I don't count the hands cause if you take the claws off, they are exactly the same), and, though I grew up watching (and Loving) the 90's cartoon, The yellow always looked silly and clownish to me, even back then. But once again, having it in hand changed all of that! The sculpt is as perfect as we can realistically hope for, the articulation and balance are perfect (even with those shoulder pads), And the precise shade of golden yellow, I don't know why, but looks 10 times better and brilliant and regal than it seemed on my screen. Sure, I wish the mask wings spread a bit more out than back, and having open hands, gun holding hands, or an unmasked head would have improved it. But beyond what I've been able to articulate in words, there is just a certain je ne sais quoi, That makes this my new definitive wolverine. I just can't stop staring at it and posing it! What about you? Which figure were you going to skip, but is now one of you favorites? *Honorable mention: Sauron, Walgreens Magik, marvel first 10 crossbones
  19. Honestly, I never read iron man comics, so my personal preference is MCU based, but also, I mostly collect for the figures themselves--If a figure looks bad ass, that's all that matters to me, even If I'm not familiar with the character. And I wouldn't get a figure just cause it's my favorite character (hulk), it has to look good too. But that's just me, I'm sure people who read the comics have a much different perspective. Also, I go for realistic/humanistic depictions. I'm not into the cartoony, exaggerated face sculpts and costumes. Again, these are obviously always unrealistic to some extent or another--they're fantasy--but I personally like that fantasy to feel as real as possible. Thanks for asking! it does fascinate me when I see people go crazy for a figure I see as ugly or people don't go crazy for a figure I think is amazing (the walgreens Magik). but i guess that's why Hasbro, etc. make such diverse figures.
  20. so? just cause something is form-fitting, doesn't mean it's one-dimensional and disobeys the laws of physics? lol. when people wear armor, the armor adds dimensions to their overall figure. like have you ever worn a coat? haha. And he has powerful rocket boosters under his feet, so yeah, of course he would be taller. granted, these are comics and not real--but are you imagining the rockets that make him fly super fast are an inch thick? seems super silly, even by comics standards--they're not just ugz, they're space-rockets. lol. If this is too much of a size discrepancy for you, i feel you, it's a tad larger than my ideal also--but an ironman suited should be bigger than a tony stark, just like anytime any person wears a bunch of armor, they take up more space.
