  1. I mean, first movie made close to 8x the production cost, second one made about 5x... and both were a hell of a lot more fun than half the MCU films have been. But sure, Jan.
  2. I see so many people on here who seem to be incapable of posting anything positive, and instead can only post negativity on something that, ultimately, isn't going to impact their lives one iota. And yet they go out of their way to let everyone know how much they disapprove, when given their track record, that's to be assumed. It literally costs you nothing to just walk away. Anyway, can't wait for this one. I was one of the lucky ones to get the three-pack version, but I'll gladly take this one so I can display both heads in different line-ups.
  3. David Nakayama is likely there due to being a regularly-commissioned artist for the line (among many others, he did the package art for all the Age of Apocalypse releases, and the Strong Guy Deadpool wave, off the top of my head) and not due to him doing a random variant cover. Can't speak for Cates though - maybe some tease of another Venom wave with some Let There Be Carnage figures?
  4. Genuinely kinda like this one. The combination of using the newer Sunfire body, the (metallic?) navy blue and cherry red deco, and giving him twin SMGs just appeals to me for some reason.
  5. I wonder if it has something to do (at least, in this case) with a palette they were given in regards to the characters models, and I only wonder that because Gwen's also suffering from skin-lightening. But even then, it would have to have been an earlier palette, since everything I've seen from the film has Miles' proper skin tone. And I know this is grasping at straws for a "sensible" explanation. At least they're fixing the BP skintone for the Wave 2 release.
  6. The electrical piece is used to simulate Miles' 'venom strike' ability, I would assume. And while I like the slight deco differences, I'm in agreement that these would be a lot more appealing with unmasked heads that matched the in-movie character designs more, and as a result I'm gonna be skipping this set... for myself. However, I know plenty of people who never found Gwen and/or MIles, so having them together in a pack will really help them out.
  7. Oh, your poor white male existence is so threatened here. So sad. I feel your pain.
  8. Technically, statues are figures (figurines, I guess) but I'm with you. I wish people would stop calling statues 'figures,' since generally-speaking, people tend to think 'figures' means 'action figures'. It leads to a lot of confusion. On-topic, that's pretty stellar, and if I was a statue person, would definitely be my choice for a Deadpool. Love how dynamic it is.
  9. Got this bad boy over the weekend, and I have to say, he's everything I could have wanted and more. The wings alone are beautifully shiny, and I'm hesitant to let him be anywhere that his wings might get scratched. Needless to say, he's not getting displayed in full until I get a solid flight stand for him (hooray for living in earthquake country). Currently have him displayed with his unmasked head, for full-on 90s goodness. A note for others who have preordered him through Gamestop, I was at a trade show this weekend, and overheard a couple conversations about how he's being pushed back/delayed at Gamestop, for whatever reason. I have no way to substantiate this, but figured I should pass the word along.
  10. Looking forward to grabbing this set myself. Definitely been more of a fan of the AIM Beekeepers than Hydra goons, and after Sunspot bought out AIM and made them a major backdrop in New Avengers and USAvengers, they just rocketed higher in my book. Also, gotta admit, I kinda dig the Paladin repaint.
  11. Can't wait! While the show has taken some different directions from the comic, it's still been an incredibly entertaining endeavor, and I'm looking forward to Season 2 with baited breath! Hoping my girl Gert gets some more moments to shine.
  12. I'm down for having Pepper, even if it's this Pepper, and that armor, but hopefully for a lower price. If anyone ends up wanting to sell, let me know. Otherwise, I'm waiting until it drops in price.
  13. Hopefully, with the rumors of a Jim Lee-style Jean Grey rerelease and retool for the next vintage wave, we'll have a full 90s set of the O5 before too long.
  14. So excited for the second season. The first season really surprised me and made a pretty damn good job of depicting a world gripped by anti-mutant hysteria. Also, giving my boy Thunderbird the props he deserves, and showcasing two of my faves, Polaris and Blink, on a regular basis. Hoping to see this get even better.
  15. I like the team lineup all right, but the whole 'Kid Cable' thing... yawn. Let me know if Marrow and the rest of Spurrier's X-Force show up. They deserve more than they got.
  16. As someone who does collect them, I understand that they're not for everybody - hell, sometimes I look at them, and I wonder if they're our generation's pop-culture version of 'Precious Moments' figurines. But the wide selection of characters is one of the biggest draws. My wife and I have a bunch of characters in Pop! form that have received little to no merchandise before. Her favorite character from the Teen Titans animated series, Jinx, has only just gotten full-on merchandise in the past couple years due to Funko, and the Pop! is the highlight of her small collection. Meanwhile, I have a row of X-Women Pops! on my shelf, which includes Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Funko got to her before Hasbro did, so it's hard not to get behind that, you know? As for these, I'm likely to only get the Spider-Woman (even though I prefer her newer costume), though I wouldn't be surprised if we also ended up getting Okoye.
  17. I really like this cover... though I'd like it more if we hadn't gone through the absolute clusterfluff of Psylocke recently. Glad to see Jubes back in her classic outfit, though. And just glad in general to see her character rerailment thanks to Generation X.
  18. Can't wait for this one. Finally preordered ours last night to make sure we actually get him, since the last couple exclusives have been hard to come by in this neck of the woods (still haven't found a Surfer yet). I've always been a big fan of this costume, and being able to own one without spending a huge lump of cash is a nice reality to live in. Plus bonus parts! The unmasked heads are a great incentive, but to be honest, I'm actually really excited to slap that claw on my Poccy.
  19. Could be worse. Back in the Toy Biz 5" line, there was a new Wolverine every week. I agree that the price tag is steep, but given that it's costly to grab a Sentinel on the aftermarket as it is, I'm down to get one with a DOFP Wolvie when I have the opportunity. Just won't be able to army-build like I was hoping.
  20. This is a great opportunity, as my local hookup has been having some shortages on the past few waves, and I'm genuinely worried about being able to complete Sauron or even get my hands on the SP//dr wave. Thanks for this, and thanks to Hasbro for providing the opportunity!
  21. I'm planning on getting the X-Wave regardless of anything (X-Fan for life), but the Cull Obsidian wave would be a really nice treat. And yeah, I am totally with you all on the double-edged sword of this massive amount of product in 2018. Especially since I'm not generally a full-wave person outside of X-Men, but between individual characters and the BAFs this year, it's an expensive time. Both Deadpool waves, the X-Men wave, and the SP//dr wave, alongside most of the Lizard wave... and that's only the mainline waves, that's not even getting into multipacks, special lines (Marvel Studios 10th and Legendary Riders), and the various exclusives. But, even then, I am so happy to see so many new figures that I want. It's nuts. Especially since price increases have made my old collecting vice, Transformers, much less viable this year, which means doubling-down on Legends. Like I said, it's crazy.
