  1. Collectors didn't want 12" figures. Its that simple. The standard for the last few decades has been 6" and 7". The company didn't read the room. As for retailers... Amazon, Big Bad Toy Store, Entertainment Earth, this little thing called Hasbro Pulse to name a few....its not about shelf space.
  2. A lot of people have bought into this "projects that couldn't be made otherwise" notion and it just doesn't pan out. EOV exposed this even more. For years collectors had been screaming for Mephisto, and were told it "could never be made" (funny thing, Hasbro never said that) and yet there it was. I guess it COULD be made after all lol. They clearly don't need a campaign for this and Giant-Man is hardly unfeasible.
  3. Its not a PERFECT fit....it does look a bit small on the male body, but it works if you want. I hope all future helmets of this type have that "glass" type and colors like amber would be nice too. They really should have this set at a lower price because I'd definitely get more.
  4. Really a shame. I actually feel bad for those involved in it because it didn't have to be this long, dragged out snooze fest
  5. Agree; I do think though that Triton should be on a somewhat more robust buck. Above all they need to give the Green Goblin a decent glider; the toybiz one was about the right size but these others have just been so very small.
  6. It would be great if there were another company doing 6" Marvel characters; decent competition would keep all of them on their toes. That Crimson Dynamo is fantastic
  7. Ah yes, Rom, Crystar, Sectaurs, Micronauts....Micronauts were my favorite. Mike Golden's art was just that- golden!
  8. They should do an Accessories Set: different color blasts, firearms bursts, holsters, ammo belts and harnesses
  9. I hope they come up with a new scaled body for Triton (if they ever do him) as well. Sure, Green Goblin could work, but Triton deserves updated treatment
  10. I'd say most of us thought for sure that Daredevil would be on that model. The previous DD on the buckycap mold looked great and was probably the best for him (scale, build, etc). Naturally since the vulcan mold is supposed to phase out buckycap, any new DD would go on that one. I for one certainly did not see the kid-devil-in-a-onesie coming. I don't care for this version; I have to give it points for matching the comic, but shabby, worn out, Man Without Home doesn't have the same gravitas as Man Without Fear.
  11. Couldn't agree more. I'm sure anyone who's read my comments about the Vision over the years is going "oh, this guy again?" but that's because they just haven't done it right in almost 20 years. The way they do his boot cuts is awful and just ruins it all. It looks so cheap and lazy. DC Classics and Essentials never had a problem with this style of boot. And hasbo doe stylized boots all the time, many even have rotation. Just look at the EXCELLENT most recent Iron Man armor.
  12. I don't care for this wave; the Black Panther and maybe maybe Zarda. So very disappointed that they got my dude the Vision RIGHT THERE....and then deliberately flubbed it like that! Though, I notice that the box art doesn't have him in his classic outfit so that's weird. Sub-Mariner....such an out of nowhere look for him, I never even considered it. His classic speedos and the 70s suit, plus the walgreens exclusive, are his 3 main outfits. But maybe because this is so out of left field, I might break down and get it anyway. It's not a BAD wave and its good to see them put characters together that don't necessarily have a strong shared "theme" between them.
  13. When Jae Lee took over the art, the storyline had Namor in another amnesia spell and he had a feral, shaggy beard then. Later, when wearing the "sacred armor of Atlantis" as he does in this figure, it was just the wild hair. But I can see the confusion, 'cause Lee used a lot of stylized inking and shadow (he also did some killer shots of Namorita and Namor's mom, Princess Fen....) and there are many panels where someone could think the Sub-Mariner had a beard in those shots.
  14. I love the Sub-Mariner and liked the Byrne run on his book. Wasn't that crazy about his "skinny" Namor but overall the run was good; Jae Lee's work was definitely different. Very abstract in some shots; a lot of stylistic interpretations. Not bad, because I did look forward to each issue, but that 80's rock band Big Hair look was out there. Never expected to see a figure based on that. Am I gonna get it, not sure. Namorita is a hard pass. Great face though. One thing about this figure, its a reminder to me that she does/did have quite a number of outfits and looks, most of them were drek. I am glad they're gonna do classic Namorita. Would love to see Namora too, along with the rest of the Agents of Atlas.
  15. Recently talked about how I wanted a wave with the Sub-Mariner and Namorita. Be careful what you wish for. Seriously, never even thought about these versions. Leave it to hasbo to zing me like that. Fortunately, they did say classic Namorita is coming.
  16. Ok....my guess: 1. Character previously released as an alt head- Lilandra Neramani 2. Previously convention exclusive- Gamorra, from Galaxy 5 pack comic edition 3. First time Marvel Legends character- RED WOLF
  17. Excellent point, and once again, another demonstration of how they take one step forward, and two steps back. With this set its the cost, with the first SHIELD agents set, it was the lack of availability and keeping it in stock- even though it was a Pulse exclusive! Hopefully they'll do another round before year's end.
  18. Thankfully THANKFULLY....they didn't use the spindly Bishop buck for these, but went for something more realistic. I know we floated the idea of female troop builders years and years ago on the forum, so its great we actually got them. But unlike the SHIELD-HYDRA-AIM troop builders over the years, these didn't get any kinds of backpacks or alt uniforms or most of all, HOLSTERS. The harness strap for both figures, have no purpose unless they're to hide pit stains. Come on! Even when they dug up the crummy buck for Madame Hydra, they at least gave it dual holsters for the pistols. Now where set this shines, is the various heads provided. WOW....great job! The facial expressions, the hair styles; I just can't say enough about how well they turned out. In fact a 3rd figure would've been even better. The helmet with the "glass" visor is gorgeous! Ohhh I hope they continue to use translucent plastic like this for lenses and visors because it really does make the thing pop. And I found out, that WILL fit the male SHIELD figure too. All around, very good job.
  19. I doubt they know that Blade originally was British, born in Soho, London. When he first appeared in the 70s of course he had a cool afro, and wore a green (later brown) overcoat and green pants, with black (or brown) knee high boots. Not to mention the tinted glasses that looked like safety goggles, as if he was going to wood shop class. With his over the shoulder bandolier of teak wood stakes, he waged war on vampires. That would be an interesting figure to see them do.
  20. LOL and thanks my friend. Frankly I wouldn't mind giving them some pointers. But really, I've seen any number of suggestions, on this forum alone, from fans that would really help them up their game. Bottom line for hasbo & their stockholders, these would reap tons of revenue. Its win-win.
