I think this is a really great figure, but I totally agree - this is not the figure the masses would have preferred (I almost bought it for Throg, but thought better of it). The 80th Anniversary Classic Thor was fantastic for when it was released, but with pinless tech, laser printed faces, etc. being what they are, this figure needs updating, and Maximum CLASSIC Thor would have been the right move. But hey, we're seeing another Spiderman already in the Maximum Sub Line, so no reason why they won't do the same thing with Thor.

Love the First Appearance suggestions, especially Cap, Bucky, Human Torch and Sub-Mariner! Love to see First Appearance Valkyrie, Blade, Gamora, Nebula, Thor, Green Goblin, and the Original X-Men too (all with new pinless sculpts with face printing tech)! This would damn near cover most of my Must-Haves!

I have been asking for a re-do of the ToysRUs Original X-Men Boxed Set, and I think we will eventually get it, but I hope it isn't like this.

That would be perfect! As much as I would love a 70's Blade from scratch, most of the necessary pieces exist, so this wouldn't be a hard one for Hasbro to pull off.

Classic X-Men, More Marvel Monsters, Beta Ray Bill, Valkyrie, Hela, Blade (70's version), Bishop the Last X-Man. And a Made-to-Order Frost Giant! That's all I need!

You must get this one! It looks even better in hand, and really pops in a display in your collection. Anything that is a classic 60's or 70's aesthetic is an instant purchase for me. Now if only Hasbro would re-do the Classic X-Men and the rest of Marvel Monsters!!!

I do think it is a tease for Mole Man...but it could also be Morlocks from X-Men.

WOW! That was one hell of a reveal (no duds)! Too many things to say. Magik in this costume has been a must have for so long, same for Falcon, but that Daredevil! Absolutely incredible! And as much as I would have preferred the Maximum Thor be a Classic costume version, they absolutely killed it and this will be an instant purchase! Really nice job, Hasbro!

Love the Ghost Rider set, but why does he have white gloves? I didn't remember him having white gloves, so I Googled pics and couldn't find even one with white gloves. Weird!

Same here! I sold my Black Bolt and Medusa a little over a year ago thinking they didn't fit the quality of current figures and I didn't purchase Karnak because I didn't think they would ever complete the team, but seeing Crystal and Lockjaw made me start thinking maybe they would. All in now!

Not sure…I Googled images after I saw how big he was going to be (thinking like you that he was too big). I am pretty excited about this set (and just picked up Karnak, Crystal, and Lockjaw).

I don't think Gorgon is typically drawn that large. but he definitely has been.

I already liked the Wolverine a lot, but the Storm head sculpts turned out way better than I expected.

It has always been a head scratcher how little attention Thor adjacent characters have received. Same could be said for New Mutants, and until recently, The Inhumans. I would be so interested to see what the meetings look like where Hasbro discusses character selection, which version of the character to produce, size of the character, team completion, how it should be released, cost to produce the character, as well as what parts could be re-used to reduce costs. I will never gripe about another Wolverine/Ironman/Cap/Spider-man because I know they are necessary to keep the line going, but I can't help but think Hasbro has does well, but could absolutely knock it out of the park if they just mapped things out better. I know there is an audience for Crystar and Warbow, but how are they getting attention before Asgardians, New Mutants, Marvel Monsters (though thanks for the Werewolf by Night reveal finally), Classic X-Men, Mole Man, The Watcher, Swordsman, and Annihilus? I know they can't please us all, but there just seems to be a lot that isn't given proper attention, that easily could be given proper attention.
