I wonder the same! Seems like a no brainer. There are about 30 characters, or so that I am just amazed we haven't seen yet, or haven't seen a definitive classic version of yet (Bucky, Adam Warlock, Classic X-Men, Giant Man, Marvel Monsters, a bunch of the Inhumans, Mole Man, Iron Fist, Blade, Nebula, Brood, Destiny, Warriors Three, Dum Dum Dugan, Wasp, Ghost Rider's villains).

Marvel Legends The Marvels Themed Wave Revealed
Psychosomatic replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
I hope Hasbro is listening! You are always quite critical (rightfully so) Hasbro's Legends, and I can't ever remember seeing you this pleased with a wave - so this is high praise. I almost got rid of my Blackbolt and Medusa because I had no faith in us seeing more Inhumans, but this gives me hope! And I can never pass up a good Cap! Great wave! -
Another Marvel Legends Reveal Next Tuesday (5/30)?!?

While I do agree with a lot of the nitpicks people post about things Hasbro could do better (costume choices, size/choice of buck, lack of accessories, not completing teams that were started YEARS ago, pinless), I do still think they do one hell of a job, and that they get a lot right. That being said, I can't help but think about an old Toybiz wave that had Red Skull, Nick Fury, Silver Surfer, Colossus, Sabretooth, Mr. Fantastic, and Blade. Classic villains, cosmic characters, team leaders, anti-heroes...just an incredible blend! Made me think about how much harder it must be to create that kind of excitement with a wave these days since so many of the best characters have already been done, and most of them done quite well. Sure, there are plenty of collectors who want Squadron Supreme, Serpent Society, Reavers, Marauders, Starjammers, etc. (and I would like a lot of those too), but I can't imagine the excitement or satisfaction with finally getting them would ever be as high as for that old Toybiz wave with almost all of the characters being absolute must-haves. Recent (or upcoming) Blob, Ronan, Classic Ant-Man, Powerman, Hawkeye with sky cycle, Black Widow, Drax, Ultron, Red Skull, Dormammu, Wonderman, 80th Anniversary Cap/Thor/Ironman/Hulk, Colossus/Juggernaut two pack - for me these captured that old WOW reaction to what was coming out. Now can we please get classic comic versions of Adam Warlock, Wasp, Iron Fist, Nebula, Valkyrie, Destiny, Ghost Rider, Mole Man, Nick Fury, Dum Dum Dugan, Daredevil, Mephisto, Captain Marvel, Warriors Three, Marvel Monsters, 1970's Blade...everything after that will just be icing on the cake! -

Powerman and Iron Fist two-pack? 🙂 -
Okay, two things just hit me; Is Powerman going to be released this year as a part of the Avengers Anniversary, and The Marvels comes out in November and we have heard nothing about a figure wave that I know of. Really hoping we get an updated Comic Style Carol/Captain Marvel, or Carol Ms. Marvel (maybe even with a Secret Invasion Skrull head).
-
Alright, I'm down with a lot of that. I think they nailed the figure (I love it actually) and I don't think it needed more, but are we getting our money's worth? NO, on that I totally agree with you, Pal! And if you compare what Toybiz used to do, and what McFarlane is doing with DC figures, YEAH, Hasbro could be producing a lot more original bucks and accessories and bases, etc. - giving us more for our dollar. And every figure you praised are great figures...in fact, that Blob figure is absolutely perfect...SO MUCH BETTER than the BAF version (I put on the shelf this week and just stared at it in amazement).
-
Oh, c’mon, this is some misplaced frustration, man. That arm is not overly used at all (it was made for the BAF Skrull). The figure looks nearly identical to the comic, there is nothing to gripe about. No one needs to acknowledge the other power sets, because the power sets for this figure are accurate. You are entitled to wish Hasbro had produced a different one of the Skrulls from the comics (I agree there were a lot of cool ones with cool power sets), but that has zero to do with how good this offering really is. They nailed this one - give them some credit.

I am not interested in Super Adaptoid, but man, if I was, I would be so pissed that it doesn't come with wings. To be that close to what you want, and have them miss the mark. I have said this before, but I so wonder what their research and development team is made up of, because so many of Hasbro's mistakes and missed opportunities could have been easily avoided by having a quality control person who weighs in on size of buck, costume choice, color scheme, and accessories. There is honestly no excuse for them not getting it right every time.
