  1. Yeah, you're right. The only upcoming Walgreens Exclusives I can think of (Mystique and Emma Frost) are X-Men. GIMME DOCTOR DOOM!
  2. Man, that's some clean customization. Very impressive. Great figure!
  3. What's the likelihood of Hasbro making figures of supporting characters? The only two who come to mind are Netflix's Claire Temple and Mary Jane Watson, both figures were packaged in two-packs. I'd like to see more of Spider-Man's cast, but it's tricky to figure out who Hasbro could potentially pair non-super heroes with. A re-issue of Hobgoblin with an alternate Ned Leeds head packaged with Betty Brant Flash Thompson packaged with a re-issued Agent Venom Robbie Robertson packed with Tombstone I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement for the next Walgreens Exclusive Fantastic Four figure. It has to be Doctor Doom, doesn't it? And I suppose the only chance we'll get an Alicia Masters would be in a two-pack. Maybe with a FF uniformed Johnny Storm?
  4. I was just watching some process videos on Punker_Mike's YouTube channel for a few of his custom figures. He uses citadel paints, too. Do you mind if I ask where you got that brand?
  5. We can only hope that if/when Hasbro releases this version of Storm that the figure looks half this good. Amazing job!
  6. Hmm, I've yet to encounter this problem with my jars of paint. I've only owned them for a few months, though. During which time I've probably only dipped into each jar once, definitely no more than twice. Maybe you could fill a dropper with some isopropyl alcohol and squeeze a few drops around the base of the caps while the jar is upside-down? Let the alcohol work its way in and try to turn the caps then. Or brush some acetone under the edge of caps and try to work them loose? If the caps to my paint jars ever seize up and I manage to work them loose, I'll post my method here. Good luck!
  7. Robb, with your experience can you think of any ways to make this system more reliable for anyone who wants to participate? The only concerns that have come to mind for me are recipients unwilling to pay (as you mentioned) or senders collecting money but never shipping the figure. I suppose that makes accountability my main concern with this proposed process.
  8. Yeah! I saw your response to one of my posts regarding this, Benn; stoked that you took the initiative! I don't know how you feel about online shopping, but it looks like Amazon currently has the Underwear Deadpool in stock for $19.98. I'll keep an eye out locally for the figures on your list. Off the top of my head, here's a rough inventory of what I know is currently available in my area: MCU Thanos BAF Wave Proxima Midnight Walgreens Exclusive Mr. Fantastic Walgreens Exclusive Daredevil Most MCU Captain Marvel Wave figures Sauron BAF Wave Gwenpool I'll make a more thorough list on my next visit to my local stores.
  9. Is there a thread that discusses trading in depth? There's currently one questionable (in my opinion) thread on the Buy-Sell-Trade forum. I'm sorry to iterate topics that I'm positive have previously been discussed at great length, but I'm very new to this forum. I know we're all sick of scalpers and the lack of variety in selection or the lack of current waves in most of our local brick-and-mortar retailers. I've posted elsewhere in another thread that I'm totally open to mailing any figures that my local retailers have in abundance to those who cannot find them. I propose that this service is executed at cost, with the only additional expense to the recipient being the shipping cost. Has this practice ever been attempted by any members of this forum? Obviously there's the inherent potential of scammers being among us as well. I myself being new (and therefore not yet having had the opportunity to be burned) am very willing to attempt this with anyone who wants to give it a shot. I'm hoping I'm not violating any forum soliciting rules, or repeating a notion that has been presented and spectacularly failed. Contrarily, if this practice is already in effect to some degree of success, could anyone point me to the appropriate thread? Thanks!
  10. I'll wash them and try thinning my paint. I really appreciate the advice, Satam. Thanks for your input. Another issue that I've encountered is flaking of the paint (mostly at joints where moving parts make contact, but also on non-moving surfaces that make contact with external forces (i.e. the figure falling, a fingernail accidentally scratching the paint, etc). Is there a reliable "finishing" method of applying a clear coat or otherwise transparent protective surface?
  11. Hahaha Yeah, I suppose "Green Costume" Rogue is about as descriptive as "Rogue with a white streak in her hair." I found the below image via search engine, but I seem to recall a crop-top shirt variant. Hope this provides some proper context!
  12. 1) Jim Lee Storm 2) Jim Lee Jean Grey 3) Classic Nightcrawler 4) First Costume Storm 5) 1992 Konami Arcade Dazzler 6) Blob 7) Better sculpted Classic Magneto (I'm a fan of the sculpt of the Apocalypse BAF wave Magneto. I just wish the colors and cape were the purple and red design.) 8) Green Costume Rogue 9) Classic Colossus 10) Better sculpted Jim Lee Sabertooth
  13. I'm on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. Back in December, I was digging through dozens of Silver Surfers on my quest to complete the Fantastic Four. However I've now been actively searching for Silver Surfer for most of January thinking there would still be plenty of the figures at all of my local Walgreens. Bizarrely, they've all been cleaned out. I don't know if this is the proper place to mention this, but I'm all for mailing any excessively-stocked figures I can find locally to those who cannot find them. I'd be happy to do it at cost, provided the recipient covers shipping and extends me the same courtesy for figures I'm having difficulty locating locally. I hope that offer doesn't violate any forum soliciting rules.
  14. I have not washed them. Is this literally just a soap and water wash of the figures? I have only wiped them free of particles with a lint-free cloth.
  15. Pretty cool original concept! Thanks for posting your pictures!
  16. I'm hoping to paint my first custom soon. Can anyone recommend any resources (step-by-step list, or video) for sanding and painting? Specifically, I'm hoping to get some advice on what grade grit of sandpaper to use for each step. In regard to painting: What specific primer should I use? What is an efficient airbrushing tool (brand/model/etc)? I've picked up some "Model Master" acrylic paints from my local Hobby Lobby, but my application technique (dry brush on unsanded, unprimed figures) is coming out too "streaky" and/or too "globby." Additionally, if you can point me to another thread on this forum where these issues might have already been discussed, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for sharing your insight and experience!
  17. Hasbro needs to step it up on new sculpts of older MCU franchises. I have the Walmart Exclusive Captain America: The First Avenger in my collection, but if Bandai released an S.H. Figuarts figure from that title, I'd have the Walmart Exclusive Cap on eBay in no time. That Smithsonian Exhibit costume Cap from Winter Soldier looks great. Anyone else getting a Jennifer Aniston vibe from that Scarlet Witch face sculpt?
