  1. Losing the figure of Robbie in his human form essentially renders all the "street" parts for the car useless.
  2. $350? Ouch. Chrome brightwork and some detail painting on the chassis might have gone a long way to justifying that price. The tail lights and front turn signals being the wrong shape and the bumper guards being missing are a definite knocks against this, IMO. Gonna have to see what the stretch goals are, but unless they're spectacular, I doubt I'm going to be backing this.
  3. You guys aren't imagining things. Kate looked very good in the render and prototype (preproduction sample?) stages, and then Hailee's likeness was lost in production.
  4. His vest is too short, too. It doesn't need to go all the way down to his belt, although that looks best, but it actually got further away between the prototype and production stages. I was really looking forward to this figure, but seeing that not only did they not fix any of the above after revealing the proto, and that the jacket thing actually got worse, I cancelled my preorder and decided to hold out for a caped version. If it never comes, well...
  5. They wouldn't use the Sunfire buck. I think it's more likely they'll put Isaiah on the older Wolf Cap buck than anything else.
  6. I think they fact that they've been boasting about their "plastic-free" packaging for toys that are made of plastic shows this has been PR spin the whole time. It's been about saving money with the price of oil (and plastic) rising higher, now that it's dropping, the cost of paper is going up a bit, and seeing the negative reaction to this whole thing, they're pulling back. I wonder if they've seen any kind of slump in sales on their collector lines. I'm usually an opener, but there are some themes that I had been collecting MOC and passed on a few new releases because of the new packaging. I'm sure I'm not alone.
  7. They've already reversed course regarding retro figures across multiple lines. Sucks for now, but I have no doubts that within a year or two this whole bull___ thing will be over.
  8. Bombastic Bag-Man is coming on a Retro card, and he's not a repaint (no more than most figures and in some ways less), so no. Also who the hell knows? Sure? Maybe?
  9. It is. Somebody found some Liefeld artwork that looks almost exactly like this and posted it over on another forum back when Toad here was first revealed.
  10. I'm not calling out anyone by name here, because this applies to everyone. That + button next to the Quote button is the multiquote function. Anyone responding to multiple posts within the span of a few minutes should use it instead of stacking posts.
  11. You'd think so. It's so close to looking right out of the movie, but the lack of buttons on the shirt bugs the hell out of me. Combine that with the inflated price, and the plastic-free packaging, and I passed on it, ending my Into the Spider-Verse collection with only three (technically four) figures. I've been keeping the others MOC, and I'm not about to open them all to display with an inaccurate and overpriced figure, no matter how good it mostly looks.
  12. @JayC I assume the big white box here is supposed to be the tik-tok video from the main news page. It doesn't seem to be working.
  13. I cancelled mine. I'd been collecting the Into the Spiderverse figures to keep MOC, so the plastic-free packaging meant that Noir wouldn't match the others. Couple that with the lack of buttons on the shirt, and cancelling was an easy decision. I do hope that you get yours soon, and that you're very happy with it, tho.
  14. Their Into the Spider-Verse figures have looked really good until now. I wonder why they suddenly dropped the ball with Gwen. Portrait really doesn't look anything like her from the movie.
  15. I don't think the CGI would ever look better as long as it's on Disney +. Apparently it takes movie money to make a hulk look good, so until Jen shows up in a movie, this may be the best it can get.
  16. I assume it will be more detailed than any Batmobile Todd has made, and I doubt it'll cost that much. I could also see them doing a set with not just the Hell Charger, but also Johnny's bike, Danny's bike, and yes, maybe even a horse. Riders as add-ons, probably, although that would suck, but we'll see.
  17. Can you? They're usually diecast, but I've never seen a 1/12 scale Charger going for less than four or five hundred bucks. There's plenty of chargers in 1/18 and 1/24 for significantly less, but 1/12 is much rarer and much larger. The Hell Charger would actually even need to be a little bigger than 1/12 to fit a Legends figure.
  18. Kathryn Newton is five years older than Emma Fuhrmann, so maybe. Of course, twenty-five-year-olds play teenagers all the time, too.
  19. The PET recycled plastic is the same plastic they've been using in their packaging for years. So this has always been a stunt because some bean counter figured they could save more money and some marketing guy figured out a way they could look good (to some) doing it. Don't knock that plastic bubble inside. It's not wasteful. A lot of people are going to miss the protection it affords, cushioning the figure from shock to the very back of the package. I don't think I've said this here yet, but I predict quite a few figures in the new plastic free packaging are going to break from poor handling at retailers like Walmart and Amazon now that they're going to be braced right against that back wall of cardboard. Also, since they're already starting to make exceptions for the whole plastic free packaging thing, I'm guessing the whole experiment won't last very long, and that they'll change it back by 2024 or 2025 at the latest.
