Maybe I'm thinking into this too much but Marvel will be releasing six of the Marvel Legends X-Men 97-based figures of Storm, Wolverine, Bishop, Gambit, Rogue, and Magneto, retailing at $24.99 each.

You can also pick up the Marvel Legends X-Men 97 boxset, retailing at $44.99, that includes Storm, Rogue, Cyclops, Wolverine, and Gambit.

So Marvel is throwing in Cyclops for the box set, but not including Magneto and Bishop.  Won't most completists just get the box set and then pick up Magneto and Bishop to save money?  Logically thinking, Marvel would have made a better deal by adding Magneto and Bishop to the boxset and charged maybe $64.99 retail.

I'm reminded of the Cantina band figure situation in the Black series.  High priced deluxe figure with three instruments and swappable hands on Pulse and a lower priced version of the figure with three different instruments for retail. A lot of collectors figured out that if they wanted the whole band, they could save money by just ordering one of the higher priced deluxe figures and multiples of the regular retail figure.

The CEO of Disney doesn’t confidentially leak publicly damning corporate strategy to a trade reporter. That’s just nonsensical. I mean yes, the executives weren’t named, so theoretically it COULD be anyone who works at a film studio. But if that’s the only criteria you’re just attributing the quote at random.

Please note, I’m not defending Iger. I’m sure he absolutely intends to wait the guild members out rather than give in because that’s what they’re all doing. I’m just saying there’s no reason to assume he said so to Deadline.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not attributing anything. That was someone else who did that. What I said was we don't know for sure who it wasn't, because we don't know for sure who it was, and that it could have been any studio executive. No one can be ruled out.
But to be honest, I don't really give a damn who said it. It was said, it's disgusting, and it's doubtful that only one anonymous studio big shot wants to see that outcome.

Nope. Bob Iger didn’t say anything like that. He did say that he thought the unions were being “unrealistic”, which is nonsense, but the quote about waiting it out until people went broke wasn’t him.

We don't actually know for sure that Iger didn't say that. None of the articles that quote that studio executive attribute a name. It could have been Bob Iger, David Zaslav, Tony Vinquerra, Ronald Meyer, Ted Sarandos, Greg Peters...

Yes I knew that but the SAG accompanying strike aside the production company still keeps many writers on staff during the production of the film for emergency rewrites and reworks and as they were on strike for I think 73 days now I would have expected it to have effected this project sooner.

It was affected. Rewrites and even improvising (because that gets rewritten into the shooting script) were forbidden by the WGA, but production wasn't going to shut down as long as there was a script and people to act it out.

I think that's the Happy Hogan buck that he's on, isn't it? So, I'm assuming that he'll be the same size as Happy - which in my mind would be way too small for comic Wilson but might be pretty much right on for MCU Wilson.

I assume that's the Happy Hogan buck, but I want to know for sure. I think the torso looks new. If he's the same height as Happy, he's too small. D'Onofrio is three inches taller than Favreau, and that buck is a bit undersized already.

  6. That's a render on the box and not a photo, and sometimes things in the box are not exactly as they appear in the render. That said, what's on the box is usually at least a good indication ("approximation" or whatever you want to call it) of what's inside, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if it looks pretty much exactly like it does there. A pretty good D'Onofrio Kingpin head stuck on a Happy Hogan body, which while larger than the other suited bodies, is still much too small for Fisk - even the Netflix version.

So after looking at the pictures and reading all about the figure.I have a question.....What are the 3 movie-inspired accessories?...Because I only see one...The Darkhold book..if they're talking about the Pink magic effects well they don't count because other figures came with those...so not Movie Inspired...So what are the other two???

They probably are talking about the effects.

I was wondering when they'd get around to these types of crossovers...when DC and Darhorse(?)) did them they were fun but forgettable stories. Think they did Aliens too

So judging by the art, this story may take place shortly after Wolverine escapes the Weapon X facility? So maybe a dazed and confused Wolverine gets his butt handed to him at first? Then comes back all feral and exacts bloody revenge? Could be fun

Sure hope they don't crossover with say Squirell Girl. Wolverine makes sense, maybe Punisher.. they could sneak in a Conan battle maybe...

Conan would be really ****ing cool.

I don't think a laser can do any damage to an Adamantium cervical vertebrae, so his head couldn't be removed. But I know a number of writers have found a way around this or just ignored it all together.

The Predator doesn't use a laser. It's a plasma weapon. Plasma is one of those things, like phasers in Star Trek, will do as much or as little damage as the writer wants it to do. But we seem to all agree that Wolverine will win.

Any other line and this would be considered a deluxe.

Yeah, I'm glad this isn't a Star Wars Black Series figure.

I only like one of the heads (short haired version), but I like it a lot. I've waited years for the right Black Widow figure, and this one sure seems to be it. At $27.99, with all it comes with, even if I'm not going to use it all, I couldn't pass it up.

  11. The open mouth could have been great, but the fangs are just not prominent enough. Why does he have a wrist stake and a bunch of stakes holstered at his hip? Why the clunky holsters on the sides of his boots? Why so much damn silver.  I like the tattoos and the sword.  This thing could have easily been better than the Marvel Legends Marvel Knights Blade, but it just isn't.
