I believe this is based on the Jim Lee/Rob Liefield art from the early 90's.
It is. Somebody found some Liefeld artwork that looks almost exactly like this and posted it over on another forum back when Toad here was first revealed.

It’s all good, that was definitely me. To be fair I tried exactly that but something went wonky on my iPhone browser and it kept deleting the first quote/response. So I gave up and just posted twice. Sorry, I’ll keep things tidier from now on.
The phone site never seems to work right for anyone.

I'm not calling out anyone by name here, because this applies to everyone. That + button next to the Quote button is the multiquote function. Anyone responding to multiple posts within the span of a few minutes should use it instead of stacking posts.

Yeah the biggest joke is that they are actually calling this a 2 pack, that's just total jabs at collectors, popping in that re-packaged Spider-Ham does not warrant this being called a 2 pack, we know because you put this as a accessory in a pack with Gwen already.
Anyways this is a pretty nice figure, it captures the look from the film very well, and it's nice to see a bunch of new parts here, at least effort was made on the Noir, I wouldn't buy this myself, but it's a much needed figure to round out anyones ITSV display. I'm happy with the Comic Noir we got, I'll stick to that.
You'd think so. It's so close to looking right out of the movie, but the lack of buttons on the shirt bugs the hell out of me. Combine that with the inflated price, and the plastic-free packaging, and I passed on it, ending my Into the Spider-Verse collection with only three (technically four) figures. I've been keeping the others MOC, and I'm not about to open them all to display with an inaccurate and overpriced figure, no matter how good it mostly looks.

@JayC I assume the big white box here is supposed to be the tik-tok video from the main news page. It doesn't seem to be working.

Spider-Man Noir is one of the few figures I've got on pre-order. Hope it ships this month
I cancelled mine. I'd been collecting the Into the Spiderverse figures to keep MOC, so the plastic-free packaging meant that Noir wouldn't match the others. Couple that with the lack of buttons on the shirt, and cancelling was an easy decision.
I do hope that you get yours soon, and that you're very happy with it, tho.0 -

Their Into the Spider-Verse figures have looked really good until now. I wonder why they suddenly dropped the ball with Gwen. Portrait really doesn't look anything like her from the movie.

I really like how Shulkie looks with tied hair but her regular hair is too rigid and unnatural even though it is comic accurate, sometimes her model looks nice enough other times she looks like a weird tv commercial 3d model, I would rather wait another 6 months and get better CGI work than get it right now in such rushed way with CGI that is too unnatural and with overworked and underpaid VFX artists more time would be helpful in that regard too.
I don't think the CGI would ever look better as long as it's on Disney +. Apparently it takes movie money to make a hulk look good, so until Jen shows up in a movie, this may be the best it can get.

I got McFarlane Batmbolies for less than £30. Just saying that a car to accomodate a 6" fig shouldn't be £300. Unless the haslab includes 3 other GRs, a Horse, a bike, Mephisto, Blackheart.
I assume it will be more detailed than any Batmobile Todd has made, and I doubt it'll cost that much. I could also see them doing a set with not just the Hell Charger, but also Johnny's bike, Danny's bike, and yes, maybe even a horse. Riders as add-ons, probably, although that would suck, but we'll see.

I am not paying £300 for a god damn Car that I can get for £40-£50
Can you? They're usually diecast, but I've never seen a 1/12 scale Charger going for less than four or five hundred bucks. There's plenty of chargers in 1/18 and 1/24 for significantly less, but 1/12 is much rarer and much larger. The Hell Charger would actually even need to be a little bigger than 1/12 to fit a Legends figure.

Maybe though Cassie was already a teenager in Endgame, unless they are going with an adult Cassie
Kathryn Newton is five years older than Emma Fuhrmann, so maybe. Of course, twenty-five-year-olds play teenagers all the time, too.

So the plastic free packaging is nothing more that a publicity stunt to prove that Hasbro "cares" since they are keeping the profitable packaging with most plastic. If they have a more environmentally friendly plastic then why not use that for the rregular figures as well and if they want to reduce the plastic then make the window smaller and get rid of the wastefully plastic bubble inside.
The PET recycled plastic is the same plastic they've been using in their packaging for years. So this has always been a stunt because some bean counter figured they could save more money and some marketing guy figured out a way they could look good (to some) doing it.
Don't knock that plastic bubble inside. It's not wasteful. A lot of people are going to miss the protection it affords, cushioning the figure from shock to the very back of the package. I don't think I've said this here yet, but I predict quite a few figures in the new plastic free packaging are going to break from poor handling at retailers like Walmart and Amazon now that they're going to be braced right against that back wall of cardboard.
Also, since they're already starting to make exceptions for the whole plastic free packaging thing, I'm guessing the whole experiment won't last very long, and that they'll change it back by 2024 or 2025 at the latest.0 -

Keep discussions on these boards civil--disagreements, too. @ChaosKitten, this isn't the place for antagonizing others, whether they're wrong, whether you think they're wrong, or for any other reason.

I wonder if they made this figure long ago but back then Marvel wasn't too happy with promoting Fox movie so they shelved it. As for the figure, It kinda looks skinny, Jackman was probably the most ripped he has been in that movie, if anything I would be happy if they gave us a shirtless option with a well sculpted anatomy.
I think it's more likely that their licensing deal with Fox ended, while they kept their agreement with Disney. After the merger they surely renegotiated with Disney to start doing Fox properties again, and it may not have been finalized until recently.

According to sources, Daniel Kaluuya exited the project due to conflicts with scheduling on Jordan Peele’s horror Nope.
That makes sense. I don't believe The Upper World has started filming yet, and Nope wrapped filming last Winter, and Wakanda Forever wrapped this past Spring.

Sounds like Daniel’s “conflict” is realizing this movie will be a cluster$#@& without Black Panther and is jumping ship before the franchise crashes and burns.
He's got a sci-fi movie lined up called The Upper World.

While there are a ton of figures I'd still like to see, I have no predictions, aside from I think they'll likely reveal this year's Marvel Haslab or at least tease it.

@Outsiders I recommend giving it a watch. It really is quite good.

To steer things back on topic a little, is anyone here planning on getting a Hot Wheels Ghost Rider?

Bombastic Bag-Man is coming on a Retro card, and he's not a repaint (no more than most figures and in some ways less), so no. Also who the hell knows? Sure? Maybe?
