Nice!! Really really happy to be able to get ol' Zola at last, and any Zemo is most welcome in my Cap baddies display section, lol. -
Main Cast For The MCU Fantastic Four Movie Announced
Air-Walker replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
Hnnn, interesting. I don't know the actors playing Johnny and Ben, but it's all good, they seem fine to me. I love Pedro, but this does feel a bit strange. He's certainly got the range and talent to play the role, but even so I thought John Krasinski really nailed Reed's calm, sober and almost sullen geeky intensity. However, Vanessa Kirby is the one that has me really scratching my head though. If she were playing Emma Frost.... pitch perfect. Madame Hydra, Lilandra, Silver Sable, Spiral, Enchantress....basically any character that's severe, aloof and dangerous, Vanessa Kirby has that down to a science. But as sweet and endearing Sue Richards? Yeah, it's not immediately gelling in my mind. More still, I'm curious to see what kind of chemistry she has with Pedro, because even when I've seen her in a 'nice' role, she's come across as cold. We'll see man, but yeah, very interesting to see how this pans out. Actually, as an FF fan, I just hope it pans out period! -
I....kinda like this, actually. I think they look adorable in their costumes. Not in a condescending way, but more in a fun and lighthearted silly way. I literally marinated in comics from the late 70s and all of the 80s, and for me these things looking just a bit stupid is part of the fun; they're no less silly than Spider Man's costume, or Captain America's to be frank. Actually, the thing I think is lame in these films is heroes/ villains without their traditional (and often pointless) masks on, lol.

New Teaser Poster For The Marvels
Air-Walker replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
I too didn't find this movie to be the whole dogs and cats living together/ mass hysteria/ end of times dumpster fire that critics are making it out to be, lol. No, it wasn't End Game level, but it was still fun and colourful and pretty imaginative in some parts. Like it's been said here already, I think the film just needed a tighter script and more development with the villain. In terms of the state of the MCU, I don't believe it's all going over a cliff, and I think too much is being made of what cranky old directors (who are clearly coming more from a place of fear) think. End Game was an extremely tough act to follow, and Covid threw everyone off their game. Recalibration is all that's needed, and the old comics of the 70s and 80s are still the best guide to get insight into how to follow up on a huge multi-character tie-in event (and how to start a new one). At the end of the day, people are still going to gravitate to a really good story with compelling, interesting and fun characters. -
I find it a little chintzy that they went and made a brand new Vision sculpt not long after giving us the white version, but alas, there it is. The figure does look really good though. Perfect head sculpt with ear cups, and the right cape. I was going to pass on this since I really love the metallic painted retro version still, but, I suppose I could swap parts and repaint the head on this version.

Spiral is my #1 figure for the year, hands down. I've not seen BW in the wild, but even still, how do you compare anything to six super-articulated sword wielding arms! As for what's ahead, Lilandra has already made my year, but if we could get some more classic cosmic characters, I'm all in! As for the rumor list.....definite yes for Ikaris!!! (though only in his classic look). Ditto for Nick Fury, though I hope he comes with a cigar (I'm pretty sure he won't, but still...). Lastly, if the prices just hold, I'm fine. What I'm not fine with is if they start reducing articulation on even more figures. Bad enough Luke Cage and Crystar have been so absurdly and nonsensically short changed in this department. If this is a precedent, then I'll drop this line like a bad habit. If these are rarities for whatever reason, then I'm still on board.

Best of 2023 - Polls and Results
Air-Walker replied to tarot's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Black Widow is indeed a Rockstar of a figure, but Clea is my top pick personally; she just looks and feels magical (I know, I know...but that is how I feel, lol). -
Yeah, I don't like that she's only as tall is she is because of her mega-heeled boots, but even so, there's so many things right about this figure, especially the forward tilting wrists for proper sword poses, and all those extra hands!! I too find it to be a rather interesting and amusing irony that the best Wonder Woman figure ever made at this scale is in fact a Marvel character. 🙂
