  1. Lol, no, this was just the most egregious to date. They looked really impressive stacked up on the front porch. Whatever, TOYS! Whoo!
  2. Looks like a wild ride, for sure. I wonder why Doc Ock has red arms at times. Also, no hint at either version of Venom. He's noticeably absent.
  3. Robo does that right about the 4:50 mark here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G026FsV6ZiE
  4. I've been trying every few minutes for about a half hour now. I kept getting an "unexpected error" message. Anyway, I finally got it to go through with shipping to my local store. We'll see if it gets canceled. If anyone out there is trying, maybe try shipping to your local store? Good luck! Update: just got a shipping notification and tracking number. I'm a little surprised.
  5. I think the amount of changes directors and producers might feel safe making to characters in the MCU is largely determined by how many people in their audiences give a sh1t about the source material. I feel for the fans of the Guardians of the Galaxy comics because I know just enough about GotG to know that, as you say, their MCU counterparts are mostly the characters in name only. But since it's the Guardians of the Galaxy who have a pretty small fanbase compared to Captain America or Iron Man, the changes to the characters are much more palatable to more people. I see this phenomenon demonstrated very well in Justice League. It seemed to me that a lot of people I talked to were upset that Batman was swigging whiskey and mowing down bad guys with machine guns (rightfully so), but many of those same people cared a lot less about Aquaman being also very out-of-character. I feel kind of bad saying that because Jason Mamoa comes across as such an earnest, enthusiastic guy and he did a great job with the part as written. But, as written, it wasn't Aquaman. And I happen to very much give a sh1t about Aquaman. But then Justice League is such a dumpster fire, it's hard to know where to start with the criticisms. Mamoa would have made a fantastic Hawkman or Orion...sigh. I really feel you on the Star Trek thing too, but it was honestly all downhill anyway once Berman took charge. Suddenly money, war, religion, and all the other sh1t I tune into Star Trek to get away from started pouring in. The new movies really are good movies, but definitely not Star Trek. On the other hand, that departure didn't come out of nowhere. It had been going that way for decades. I think a revival of the original crew just kind of highlighted it.
  6. Finally opened my Ultron on Friday. I was saving him for last from the Ursa Major wave. Man, he is an object lesson in execution. I think he might be my favorite Marvel figure for the year. He was catching the light this morning.
  7. Man, I'll always turn up for Stallone, good or bad. He's certainly got plenty of both. I hope he gets a little more screen time in this one. How're you gonna cast Stallone and not give him an action scene?
  8. I remember. That's what I meant when I said he was too young. He was only 62. From interviews with his cast mates, he sounds like he was a really fun guy.
  9. Pro-tip: you can put your pieces in a little plastic sandwich bag before putting them in the water. Just don't seal a bunch of air in there with it so that the piece is rattling around inside of a balloon. This keeps the piece dry so that you don't have to waste precious seconds drying it (and letting it cool) before you start prying or whatever you're doing. I feel like it also helps avoid the risk of discoloration to the piece, but I have no non-anecdotal evidence of this. If your water is so hot that it melts or damages the plastic baggie, your water is too hot.
  10. I think that if they're going to do this, they need to get Cal Dodd at any cost. Cedric Smith and Lenore Zann would by my second-highest priorities were I in that decision-making position. Norm Spencer is going to be hard to replace. He was too young. Edit: Duh, I bothered to read an actual article (https://www.thewrap.com/x-men-97-1990s-x-men-animated-series-2023/). The returning cast members include Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Alyson Court. That's Wolverine, Rogue, Beast, Nightcrawler, Mister Sinister, Jean Grey, Gambit, Storm, and Jubilee, respectively. I just looked up David Hemblen (Magneto) to see if there was any chatter about him coming back and found out he passed away last year. Dang it.
  11. Wow, that looks so much better! Nicely done. Yeah, I'm going to find a new head for mine just as soon as she gets here.
  12. Yes he does. I don't understand how they keep getting this wrong. At this point, I have to assume it's personal, lol. I'm still holding out hope for an opaque flamed-on Torch among the 20th anniversary releases (with alternate Jim Hammond head, natch).
  13. An Oscorp building is in one of the shots of the city as well. I don't know if that's a new revelation or not; haven't really been keeping up on this one that closely.
  14. Really? I'm not getting that. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have always been a pretty pouch-laden bunch down through the decades, both before and after the 1990s. I don't think it's overly done here. On the plus side for you, the thigh pouches at least are often more difficult to keep on the figures than take off. You could always lose those pretty easily.
  15. I voted for A. The upshot is more dramatic and helps to make Galactus feel larger than life. Additionally, the heralds look like they're on their way to actually go do something, as if following a command he's just given. In the C piece, they're just like, "Oh, Galactus is eating a planet. We should fly around him in circles while striking dramatic poses." I dislike B almost entirely. You just don't get to see enough of Galactus, the main attraction.
  16. Anyone who was actually allowed into the livestream, did they mention when or where Iron Spider would be available for pre-order?
  17. I give up. How the hell do I tune in? The only email invite I got was days ago and the RSVP link goes to nowheresville.
  18. Articulation depending, I may be tempted. The recent Legends BAF is really great and I love it, but I wish it was a little more "classic" in design. Fall of the Mutants Apocalypse is best Apocalypse.
