Because she became extremely popular in the Black Panther movie and people asked for her. Also she was the best part of that movie.

all true but still kind of bizarre to put her in an Endgame wave since she is barely in the movie... as opposed to being in BP wave 2.  But i'm sure Hasbro had their reasons, just glad she's finally getting a figure

I realized it's kinda funny that this Endgame Hulk BAF isn't much of an Endgame Hulk figure as it is a figure of Endgame Hulk impersonating 2012 Hulk.

    Funny or lazy? you decide!

i feel like this figure isn't gonna satisfy fans who were hoping for a Prof Hulk with glasses and shirt, but also won't suffice as a stand-in for Avengers Hulk (for anyone who didn't get the Hulkbuster version) due to his happy face.   For a BAF i feel like they could've gone more all-out, or at least thrown in an alternate "enraged" head.

Of course, who knows what Hasbro was given to work with and what was kept secret to avoid spoilers.

  3. I would say yes as far as MLs go, but that's without having any idea about whether BP wave 2 sold well or not.  Also, I think collectors have shown they are willing to shell out money for a "good enough" version of the character and then buy the same character again 6 mo. to a year later if they think the newer figure is more accurate or wears a costume more to their liking  (some examples:  mcu Thanos,  comic Magneto,  comic Colossus, debatably the new Doom figure).   So I'm not sure its in Hasbro's best interest to delay.

I do think for the lines more oriented towards younger kids (basic line, 12" line) they could still time the release of the toys to coincide with the movie's release.  Altho honestly I've seen lots of those at WM and Target, they don't seem to be flying off the shelves like Ebony Maw and Ronin are (Cap is a different story)

Also,  both IW wave 1 and Endgame wave 1 seemed to suffer from the need to avoid having the toys spoil the movie, which in turn resulted in pretty weak waves (imo) as far as the mcu figures were concerned.    BP, Capt Marvel, and Far from Home don't seem to have the same problems.

Of course assuming Endgame does dethrone Avatar which seems likely, Cameron will soon have an opportunity to regain the throne as Disney has already announced they will be releasing several new Avatar sequels in the coming years. “Avatar 2” will hit theaters on Dec. 17, 2021, "Avatar 3” will open on Dec. 22, 2023, “Avatar 4” will open on Dec. 19, 2025 and “Avatar 5” will launch on Dec. 17, 2027.

I highly doubt any of the Avatar sequels make money anywhere close to the record set by the original, unless Cameron has some new tech up his sleeve that makes the sequel "must see in theater" viewing. like the original was.   The 1st Avatar hasn't aged well at all imo

Hah, after all these years seeing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and doing a great job IMO, Some people would flip their wigs if they found a 5'3 actor to play Wolverine. I'm sure I could get used to it since it is comic correct. But wow, he had better be as good as Hugh, or even better. I think trying to launch a successful F.F. will almost put the MCU back to the starting point like when they made the first iron man movie. Personally the F.F. are my favorite and I am hoping that everything falls into place for Marvel with the story. Till then, "Make Mine Marvel".

Honestly i think marvel studios would be wise to focus on characters other than Prof X, Magneto, Wolvie, and Mystique in their own x-movies.  Its fine to for these characters to have a presence or be part of good/evil teams but they shouldn't be as front and center as they have in Fox' films, since they seem pretty played out at this point.  And casting a short actor for Wolverine would make a lot of sense in terms of differentiating the marvel movies from Fox, in addition to giving the character a new angle in the movies, the little guy who's constantly underestimated by opponents, has a bit of a chip on his shoulder about it and trying to keep a lid on simmering rage.  Kind of the x-men's equivalent of the Hulk, a last resort to cut loose with when things get really hairy.  But of course just my opinion.  (and yeah, Jackman was amazing in the role despite the inaccurate height)

  6. I mean, we're basically talking about 4 kids (Peter, MJ, Ned, and Flash).  Not improbable that these 4 kids all got dusted.  (I'd like to think Aunt May got dusted too just to spare her the grief).    Were you guys complaining this much when 4  of the GotG got dusted?  Because both occurrences seem about equally likely.

Hopefully we get a brief scene where one of the high school staff members (either Principal Morita, Coach Wilson, or Debate team coach Harrington)  gives a speech to the newly undusted welcoming them back.  (In particular, i'm hoping Martin Starr reprises his role as harrington to serve as chaperone on the trip to Europe).

Overall, this movie looks great.  The only annoying thing is knowing ahead of time that Mysterio is a villain or at least not what he appears to be.. I'm kinda hoping he is actually not an outright villain since it would make the plot more surprising to comic readers.  But in the end as long as a heel turn is well-executed it should be OK.

I got rid of the Punk Rock Storm figure because she made me feel uncomfortable. So, I'm hoping they'll release a Storm without the mohawk.

I'm really confused. What made you feel uncomfortable? It's my personal favourite look for the character, and while I understand it's not most people's, I'm having a hard time working out how it would cause you actual discomfort.

Yeah i'm confused too.  But a poster on the fwoosh said they passed on buying mohawk Storm because "she shows too much cleavage", so go figure. To each his own.

On topic, definitely excited to see what version of Storm is coming, either 90s or FA would be great, although i have the older black costume 90s version and imo it holds up pretty well.

  8. I'd add a new Rocket figure in his similar-to-the-comics outfit.  Also I'd appreciate a re-release of Hawkeye in his Avengers costume, with the improved Renner likeness from the 2-pack.   Chitauri soldier and an Outrider figure would be nice, too.

I would definitely prefer Lebowksi Thor over final battle thor.  From the ones you've listed, i would want Professor Hulk, Final Battle Cap, and Valkyie (I doubt we're getting Aragorn, though).   I'd probably pass on your proposed Widow, Cap:FA , War Machine,  Rescue, Iron Man 85, and any more quantum suit characters.

Hard for me to care about another Cap Marvel figure when WM is still sitting on Binary.

If you're going to add Wong, I'd probably throw in other supporting characters:  Heimdall, Frigga, and Ned all come to mind (altho i'm not holding my breath waiting for any of them to get figures).

  9. Man  do i want all of these (well, except FA Wolverine).  That Cap is a WM exclusive, right? Since they are off to such a great start with exclusives this year, tracking down Cap should be fun.

whats the difference between the two cap heads?

Yeah i'm not seeing what's different about them, either.  I feel like the fwoosh guys described the differences in their toyfair summary video but i'm too lazy to go look for it.

Cannonball probably would have worked better as a "deluxe" figure like Warren, that way they could have included legs and blast effect and maybe a alt googles down head.

I agree, a deluxe treatment would've been ideal altho i have no idea how much that might hinder or boost sales.   I guess it depends on how Archangel sold, and Cannoball's perceived popularity/toyetic-ness relative to Archangel.  I'm not the most in touch with 90s stuff but my perception is that Archangel was a pretty in-demand figure, especially with the aftermarket prices on the previous versions and that nice set of wings to fiddle around with. Not sure about Cannonball.   But a deluxe treatment might have been a better option.  I don't know how well archangel sold, anecdotally it seems like most people were able to find him on sale somewhere below $30 and it doesn't seem like that bodes well for the deluxe line. Plus i only ever saw him in the wild at Gamestop... did WM or Target carry the deluxe line in places?  they didn't locally at least.

Finally get a decent cannonbal and he doesn't come with legs? Whose bright idea was that? It's like hydro man coming with no arms. God damn cheapskate mother *******

People have been fussing about this since ToyFair back in February.  I believe that the Hasbro rep told the fwoosh guys that the budget didn't allow for both blast effect and legs so since they couldn't include both they went with blast effect.  Guess we'll have to wait and see whether this figure sells poorly as a result (i suspect a lot of the folks complaining about him will still end up buying him and then continue to complain about it... which, hey, that's their right).   It doesn't bother me personally since i would probably pose him with the blast effect 90% of the time even if he came with legs... but then i'm not really a huge Cannonball fan to begin with, just glad to get some more new mutants to team up with Warlock and Magik.

The X-force wave is shaping up to potentially be my favorite wave of the year (80th anniv stuff aside), as all 6 characters have at least some appeal for me.  The Vintage wave also seems pretty nice; currently my only must-have is Silver Samurai but I would probably get Storm and Ice-Man. Might end up grabbing Dazzler too.

  12. Looking forward to the return of AoS!  This show has grown to be my favorite MCU show overall and probably beats the Gifted and Legion in my book as well for consistently being entertaining.  Very curious to see what the team tackles this season.

Its too bad hasbro never managed to make figures for any of these characters, but i suppose if the netflix heroes didn't sell well these guys wouldn't either. Still, wouldn't mind getting figures for Quake, the Cavalry, FitzSimmons, and Mack, at least. An updated Coulson wouldn't be bad, either.

  13. Here's what I'd like to see in a wave 3 IW (assuming Rescue is in wave 2). Highlight to see as there are spoilers.

    1.  Lebowski Thor
    2. Battle-damaged Cap with busted shield and Mjolnir
    3. Rocket in his blue Guardians costume
    4. Hawkeye in costume from Avengers
    5. Chitauri soldier
    6. Professor Hulk
    7. BAF Outrider

This wave does seem to require a lot of new sculpts, but Cap, Hawkeye and Rocket at least could make re-use of parts.  Still, might be tough to pull off at $20 price point and perhaps Hasbro would go with sets more along the 10th/80th anniversary line

  14. I doubt its a blunder. Someone probably just hung onto the plastic tray for Iron Fist, bought either Vision or Doc Strange, then shoved Iron Fist and the tray into the Vision/Strange box and returned it.  Its a bit weird since its a fairly neutral swap (none of the 3 figs are particularly rare or valuable afaik) and while Hulkbuster is a cooler BAF than Odin, iirc Odin's legs were kind of hard to come by later on.   My guess is the swapper was close to finishing Hulkbuster and wanted the piece for free. I'm surprised they actually included all the hands and Odin's leg since most of the time swappers just throw in a fig and random junk.

  15. Another cool survey!!   It was tough deciding but i went with:

    • Aunt May
    • Man Wolf
    • Mister Negative
    • Peter Parker
    • Spot
    • Stegron
    • **VULTURE**
    • White Rabbit

Honorable mentions to Molten Man, Tarantula, Vermin, and White Tiger.  Others I might buy include Crime Master and Rose.

Good list although I'm not sure we need another Jack-o-lantern figure, the one in the Absorbing man wave seemed good to me.

I probably would include a "fully classic" Electro but I know we've gotten a few versions of the character from Hasbro already.

And i need Hasbro to re-release that Rhino BAF!!

Only customers it would confuse are the "don't know crap bout Marvel characters but thru the MCU" crowd.  A BAF of comic based Stegron would have been much preferred & tons better than molten turd man.

    stegron.jpg

    Stegron 2.jpg

Agreed, Stegron would be a pretty sweet BAF  (especially if its anything close to Sauron's quality level).  He's gotta be coming in one of these Spider-waves, right?
