These all look just as good as I thought they would. I was hoping this would finally give us a decent updated version of Loki's look from Avengers, since he'll be seen wearing it briefly during the show, but I guess it makes more sense to do the look he'll be wearing for most of it. Plus most of this line is new sculpting and they can save some $ reusing that suit body. -

Marvel Legends Shang-Chi Wave Official Images And Info
Brenttoo replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
Mr. Hyde is one of those comic book characters that makes me stop and laugh at the idea that he's even a 'comic book character'. Like comic books are so randomly inclusive, you can look at the roster of a team and its like: costumed guy who can fly, costumed guy who's strong, costumed guy who can fly, monster from classic Victorian literature, costumed woman who's strong, actual deity that cultures worshiped for centuries, costumed guy who uses a bow and arrow, talking raccoon, robot. -
I heard a rumor recently, can't remember where, but it said they were supposedly considering Jai Courtney for Hercules. I dismissed it at first, but after hearing this...maybe. He'd be a good fit. He could bring the same machismo and physique that Hemsworth brings to Thor, but with a little extra arrogance.

Looks like the US Agent in the packaging is just Walker's Captain America suit. Could be they put the wrong figure in the packaging for the prototype because I doubt they'd get it that wrong. I'm surprised were getting a figure of a suit we saw in the show for literally like ten seconds, but hey, I'm down.

I can understand the desire to be given more of the familiar, but the MCU has proven its a forward moving machine. I see a constant battle between comic book fans and new fans of the live action media where one has 80+ years of Steve Rogers in the comics and the other have the story fed to them much more realistically where a characters arc in the films progresses more drastically just within the nature of the media. That said, I think its incredibly short-sighted and more than a little insulting to the people involved to reduce the story line of TFATWS to a brief 'woke' vacation from the mainstream. One can't claim to be a fan of Captain America, arguably the most symbolically important comic book character ever created, without acknowledging the inherent symbolism itself. We all know Steve Rogers and why he deserved to be Captain America. But history is very multifaceted and sometimes uncomfortable to hear about, which is why this show not only addressed that and gave us a new Captain America that represents that very idea; but it also very clearly and very gently explained its reasoning for doing so. Personally, I find their willingness to put realism and honesty as their first priorities in telling these stories much more refreshing than telling the same ones over and over again for the sake of predictability and familiarity. But this is just my opinion.

26" Tall Galactus From Sideshow Collectibles
Brenttoo replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
Every. Single. Time I see Galactus, I think back to this mock ad they ran in Wizard magazine like 15 years ago where it was Galactus about to eat earth, and he looks at the camera and says, "It's okay; I had Subway for lunch!" and I laugh like an idiot for ten minutes. -
Marvel Select The Watcher Figure Re-Issue Up For Pre-Order
Brenttoo replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
Sounds like I would have missed out on this if I'd gone after it, but now I'm kinda curious to see if they do a BAF for the 'What If?' wave. I'd probably lean more towards wanting that one anyway. -
I agree, sculpted fabric just lends itself better to the costumes worn by Marvel characters. Star Wars is mostly loose robes and capes which can be imitated on a smaller scale by actual fabric, but your three biggest capes in the MCU are Thor, Dr. Strange, and Vision. Thor's has to be meticulously folded over his shoulders to look right, so thats better done with sculpting, Strange has the standing collar which would be near impossible to capture with real fabric, and Vision's is so thin its almost translucent and has that intricate printing on it.
